Bravery, Courage, Confidence, Intimidation, Power

I like Judas' suggestion as well. As for individual scents, it's not general catalogue, but Blood Moon is subtly wild and feral on me. Not out-and-out aggressive, but definitely says "back off." -
BPAL for headaches, pain, colds, seizures, sickness, illnesses...

Pain helps. A LOT. I get hideous migraines, and ordered a 5 mL of Pain for just that purpose. I agree that it's too strong/sharp to wear just as perfume (for me), but it really does help ease the headaches. -
When your favorite GC blends are discontinued

I love Hamadryad (cinnamon goodness!) but Hesperides was all caramel apples on me! Also nice, just not very similar. But some people say they get apples from Hamadryad, so perhaps I'm the odd one. Geek is also great for spicy-woodsy. Dublin is another. -
OMG. Reminiscent of Meadowsweet??? *faints* Now I *definitely* have to try Safari! I lovelovelove Old Scratch but I don't get any lavender from it at all, sadly.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

And more wearable, at least for me . Snake Oil is HORRID on me, but Snake Charmer is fab. I'm so pleased! (Not too strong or spicy on me either. Just sexy. Yum.) -
Wet: XXXtreme butterscotch! Wow. I kinda like this, which is amazing because I hate sweet/foody scents. I'm vacillating between being horrified and delighted by the scent wafting off my wrist. Drydown: Well, nuts. The butterscotch has softened, which would be good EXCEPT that that's made it possible for the plastic undertone that ruined Spooky and Milk Moon to creep out. Damnit. Oh well. Another unwearable scent for me. Stupid body chemistry. And I so wanted to be a pirate.

I am absolutely staggered to discover that the enemy of God smells like Juicy Fruit gum. STRONG Juicy Fruit gum. This has throw for miles. Wow. That's really all there is to say about this one. Sweet sinfulness, indeed. Edited because hey, NOW I'm getting some fiery spice! THAT's more like it! Excellent, smells like hell. Spicy and fiery, I mean. Kind of Three-Witches-esque at this stage. The fruit is actually all but gone now, which is amazing given how strong it was before. So Al-Sharian is quite the morpher, appropriately enough - it has the initial false promise of the juicy fruitiness, then the hot lash of spice. Cool. I still don't like it well enough for a big bottle, but what a neat scent to match to the concept!

Yep, that's carnation. A rather lovely one at that - very soft. Extremely realistic, but no greenery or stems - just flowers. I might smell just the barest hint of honey, but it's mostly just carnation. Very pretty. Probably more of a spring scent for me, but certainly a keeper.

Vanilla and...something mineral. How interesting! I've never smelled anything even remotely like this before. I'm fascinated by it. As it dries down the vanilla has all but disappeared and the mineral scent has come to the forefront. Neat. I'm not sure if I need a big bottle or not, but what a cool conceptual scent! I really like it.

Who do I email with questions? BPAL/BPTP contact info

Email customer service. I understand they're great . Should be a link to their email on the regular site. -
The Queen unfortunately smelled like an orange Pixy Stick on me. She started out sweet and just kept getting sweeter and more sugary and candy-like. I wanted to love her; sadly it was not to be. I am sending her on to a home where she will be worshipped as she deserves .

Kind of funny - quoting from my Samhain '04 review (and my nose may be insane, because NO ONE else seems to get this from Samhain =P):
-
Definitely second Whippoorwill. It's clean, green, spicy - like the sexy herbal feminine version of Irish Spring soap. Chiroptera (also dc'ed, but possible to get ahold of) is less green, but it IS a beautiful velvety herbal scent. (Golden Priapus on me was all pine, btw ).

I'm starting to think I might actually be a dude. Geek and Saint-Germain rock my goddamn world. (And yet Tombstone was too masculine for me. Go figure =P.) Anyway, Saint-Germain. SAINT-GERMAIN. This stuff is SEXY. It's clean-understated-elegant-expensive-intellectual sexy. I fully intend to wear it myself, but I'd jump someone else wearing it (I'm straight so I'd prefer it on a guy, but it's definitely gender-neutral enough to swing both ways).

Looking for a BPAL similar to a Clinique Fragrance
Electra replied to jewelbug's topic in Recommendations
I also think Sudha Segara for ginger, but it's much more like Origins Ginger Essence than Happy (actually, it's just about a dead ringer for Ginger Essence on me). Can you get her to sniff Ginger Essence and see if she likes it? Kumiho is light gingery-citrusy-tea - doesn't smell like Happy, but might be worth a shot. Shanghai is beautiful, and I can't imagine anyone being offended by it. It's green tea and citrus - a dead ringer for Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea fragrance (maybe you could get her to sniff that? No spice in it, though.) -
Floral Recs for those who usually don't like florals
Electra replied to Neko's topic in Recommendations
Shanghai is fab. Also Pele - it's a floral, but it's so light that it's not like "Hey! Floral!!!" It's just a gorgeous creamy clean scent. Speaking of clean scents, maybe try Dirty? -
lol...I saw the title of this thread, and thought "Morgause!" before I even opened it. Great minds think alike .

Totally agree with this. Storm Moon is a much better approximation of the Atlantic Ocean (on me, anyway). I definitely do get "'numinous, incandescent" from this, though. Wet: sweet citrus. Drydown, initially: citrus over strong ozone. Actually too masculine for me, and I have no problem wearing traditionally masculine scents OR ozone. Drydown, final: ethereal sweet citrus. Nothing like the ocean, but nice all the same. I'm just not sure if I need to keep my bottle, since Storm Moon fills the ocean scent niche so well for me.
-
Initially: Dark chocolate, and something that's tricking my nose into thinking it's mint. Drydown: A very strong cedary scent, still with something a touch cooling - like menthol. Not me, but nice. Dark. Could be worn in both warm and cold weather.

Oh, this one is FAB. This is a terrible description, but this is the sexy feminine version of Irish Spring soap. It's clean, green and spicy. Even my mom, who hates perfume, said "Oh, that smells nice!" Looooove it.

A ripe apricot dripping with juice, from the beginning to the end. Amazing. I don't want to smell like this, but I *do* want to eat my arm.

Totally 2nd (3rd?) Pele and Shanghai. Other possibilities with no incensey qualities at all - Tiger Lily, The Unicorn. -

I *cannot* wear scent when I'm sick. :::::shudder::::: The one exception is that I sometimes sniff Pain when I have migraines, but I don't consider having a migraine "being sick" (that to me implies nausea). -
I have decided that I want to smell like "What If" by Emilie Autumn. :::::swoon:::::
