A salacious, lecherous, leering scent - dirty and dark, slapped with a wet sweetness. Earthy black patchouli swelling with apricot. I've been away from BPAL for almost two years. I think in that time I've worn a BPAL scent a handful of times. Boy did I miss it! This is the first time in a few months wearing a scent, so it was randomly chosen from my GC imp box. This one is at least 6 or 7 years old, and I now realize that I've never tried it before! I didn't sniff the bottle but put it directly on my wrists, but only a small bit. First impression was WOW! That's powerful! (A little went a LONG way!) The scent of a sweet juicy fruit and dirt came to mind immediately. I have no idea what the dirt smell is since I've forgotten what some of the notes actually smell like. I'm a bit confused about the fruit as well, but its definitely a ripe one. As it dried I smelled the wet dirt smell a bit better while the fruit mellowed and sweetened it. I like this! I looked up the notes and I guess I'm not the least bit surprised. I can smell it now. I'd like to see how this develops on me. So far it's bottle worthy!

Spiced rum, coconut, pineapple, and vanilla. Hmmm, it's been a while since I've reviewed (or even worn) any BPAL scents! I get a very caramelly pineapple rum from this one. In fact, it's pretty much all I get from it for most of the wear time. I do get a hint of a coconut and a touch of vanilla from time to time, but not enough to say it's actually a part of the scent. I do like it, but only because of the pineapple scent. I love me some pineapple! It does turn foody on me though, so I think this one will be reserved for those lazy summer days in the sun.

Not sure which version I have but I haven't touched it for almost two years, I think. I was in a rush, so I didn't get a sniff before I put it on. My first thought was the color orange when I put it on, and thought it may have pumpkin in it. I had to second guess that pumpkin assumption because I didn't smell any, but I kept envisioning the color orange. I also thought dessert of some sort, but was confused by the slightly floral image I was getting. I guess I wasn't too far off. This oil is pretty strong on me, and I feel like I smell like an orange cupcake. It's not bad, I do like it, but I was totally thinking this was going to be different on me. Maybe next time I'll look up the notes before slathering. I'll give it a 3.5 out of 5 for now.

I am so sad with this one. I've had nothing but goodness from these notes before. I was expecting magic, but all I get is a chocolate mint scratch and sniff on my skin. Why isn't this better on me?! I'll try it again in a few months.

I got the soap that unlaced got upon first sniff, and the wet stages after application as well. I don't drink, but I think I know boozy when I smell it, and I get a fairly boozy smell also. Once dry, however, I do get a really nice, sort of powdery Antique Lace sort of smell. It's like all of the elements that stained the creamy vanilla cotton evaporated. I love this one and am very glad I'm getting a chance to own a bottle of this!

I got this from a decant circle back in 2007. I remember sniffing it and not really liking it. Well, I was going through my imp boxes and found this one. Upon opening it, I didn't really smell anything but upon application, it turned very incensey and sweet. Sicne I was testing it, I only applied a touch to my neck (like ONE tiny spot) and to my wrist. Within minutes, it was jumping off of me. It has quite a throw, man!! I really do love it, but I'm going to have to dilute it with something. Way stronger than I'm used to.

Okay, so Black Friday is a holiday, right? So today I'm wearing Capricorn since it smells of Christmas tree shopping on me. I wore Fearful Pleasure yesterday. That goes all apple cider and cinnamon smelling. Yum!

Seperately, I can smell the almond and the caramel. Before trying Bite Me, I didn't like any blend with caramel in it. This one is different. Instead of giving me an instant headache from the burnt, syrupy smell, I get what I can only describe as a sweet hops scent. Yes, this smells like caramel beer on me. It's not what I was expecting, and I only just got this one from a forum purchase an hour ago, so I may have to come back and re-review this one. Oh, and I get no rose from this one either, as other reviewers have mentioned. Too bad, rose is one of my favorite scents. It reminds me of my grandmother. (Now I've gotta go call her!)

I love strawberries! This scent is exactly what I expected. In the bottle, it smells like strawberries and fresh mowed grass, but the second it touches my skin, it turns to cut strawberries sprinkled with sugar with a touch of the grass scent. It's not candyish to me, but it is a sweet strawberry smell. I LOVE it! The throw is medium to strong on me for the first 1 1/2 to 2 hours, then it settles close to my skin where only I and the few people (dh and kids) I let into my personal space can enjoy it. it, it, it!

This to me is a soft watery floral. I don't get much carnation from it. I agree with the bath salts comparison too. It's nice, but I'm going to have to be in the mood to wear this one.

Hmmm. This was a random imp I grabbed from my box this morning. I have no idea when I got it or that I even had it. Upon first application, I can smell the orangy fruityness with the white musk in the back. While it doesn't smell like it, it reminds me of Xanthe, the Weeping Clown. Upon drying though, I get a powdery sweetness, and you can tell the sweetness is from the orange. I STILL am not sure what sandalwood smells like, but I'm betting I smell it somehow. It's not masculine, in fact, it's kind of pretty on me. I can't see my husband wearing it, but I can see my 12 year old son wearing it. It's a light scent but has medium throw. I'm in the beginning stage of testing this one, but I'm betting I'll like it in a few hours too!

I wore Sticky Pillowcase, but it doesn't stay on me for very long. I originally wanted to wear Zombi, but chickened out. That one I've never worn in public, only at home when I can huff away in private!
-
I'm wearing Zombi tomorrow night. I'm not dressing, but I'm expecting to be overtired, lots to do tomorrow, so I should look the part!

Mmmm.... pretty! I'm reading the reviews and find it hard to associate this with a more manly Dorian. I'm not sure if it's the white musk (which is probably my favorite scent on me) or the fact that I'm used to wearing men's fragrances, but this is very soft and pretty on me. I do see a man being able to wear it (and I did try it on my husband *swoon*) but I like it too much on me to see it as anything other than a confident female/unisex scent. I don't think I've sniffed this one in the bottle, I'm in too much of a rush to put it on, but I do get the tea and the white musk while wet. It gets vanilla sweet on top of that as it dries and while dry. The tea mellows but doesn't disappear, and the musk stays the same throughout. The throw is strong on me, and it lasts quite a while. Getting multiples of this one, especially after the Candy Butcher crisis. (Why, oh, why did I choose to wait for that one! That was right up there with this one!!!!) Overall opinion - LOVE!

In the vial: Soft tea rose with a touch of sugar Wet on skin: Candied pink tea rose scent Dry: That same candied pink rose scent layered over a soft powder This one stays close to me (as far as I can tell) but stays for a while. I thought this one would disappear within a couple of hours, but it's still going after 6 hours and has no intention of quitting just yet. I love rose scents, so that's just fine with me. I'll be getting a bottle of this (and Faith ) soon!

Put this in the wrong forum, so here it is. That's what I get for trying to type with my wrist at my nose. I've been opening my bottle of SGA to sniff, and had yet to actually put some on since I wasn't sure I was keeping it. (Dh found out I had it and flipped over the cost. I told him I could sell it here and get the $50 back to deposit, then he asked if it made me happy, which of course I said yes, and, well, here I am!) I was used to the green (Granny Smith) apple smell, I'd smelled daily since it arrived, and I'd never done that before with any scent! It was very amusing to smell something I should be drinking, not wearing. I cautiously put a drop on the back of my hand. Yep, green apple with a cold feel more than smell in the background. It was pretty, but now that it was on, I wasn't so sure I'd like smelling like an apple, cold or otherwise. As it dried, it didn't change. It stayed cold (or menthol-ish?) apple for almost two hours! It seemed to have a pretty good throw with just the one drop. I had resolved to keep a decant and sell the rest. I must have been on crack. Just past the two hour mark, it started to change, to soften. What developed next not only surprised me, it validated my purchase. It's pretty. No, that's not strong enough to describe this one. I don't know how to describe it. It's a soft slightly sweet (though I wouldn't classify it as sweet) barely floral muskiness. The tart apple is there only to watch the other notes shine. Oh, it's like being bitten by an extraordinarily gentle vampire in an apple grove where the blossoms are falling to the ground you lay on. If this is what Gaiman describes as sexy vampire apples then yeah baby, BITE ME!

I just got an imp of Siren with my order, and my first impression was so strong, I had to come here and record it, so I can remember it when (if) I try it again. This is one I've been wanting to try. I love ginger, all of my blends so far that have had ginger work wonderfully on me. This, however, was no ordinary ginger. There is definitely something sinister about it. At first sniff, I wanted to throw the vial away from me. I didn't smell any of the notes listed, instead it smelled like a well dressed elderly woman wearing a nice floral perfume had an accident on herself. It made my head hurt and my stomach churn in repulsion. Did I get something else instead? I don't care, I just wanted it away from me. That's when I noticed the vial was leaking something fierce. (Dear God! Did it get all over my SGA chapter book?????!!! No, it's safe. Whew!) This siren was not singing her song, she was shrieking in pain! I ran to wash it off, and amazingly, the "odor" tempered and became pretty. Odd! (I used Ice Blue soap from Lush, that what was in the closest bathroom and gave it a minty kick.) I'll have to try this one again later, don't know when, but I will. I'd hate to just be having an off day and miss on something I'd potentially like. After all, it has GINGER!

I'll be short and sweet here... This went from a sweet, floral "bathroom" scent to a beautiful, soft, creamy, sweet, smokey floral with a hellofa throw in the short span of 10 minutes. I have no idea where the smokey comes from, but it makes the sweet more irresistable. I'm getting bottles! Ya hear? BOTTLES of this!!!!

I have no idea what snake oil smells like, having never tried it, but I do smell the coconut. I'll have to procure an imp of snake oil and make a proper review of this later, but I do have to say now that I love it!

You have no idea how upset I am with this one. I LOVE spicy scents, ya hear me?! LOVE!!! I'm not sure what I smell in the imp, but I do detect some cinnamon and possibly some pepper. It has hope, so I apply ever so lightly. As soon as it touches my skin it turns to a weird cinnamon buttcrack funk. Why in heaven is this not working on me????!!!!! I just purchased it from another forumite (Thank you, I really wanted to try this one for a long time.) so I don't know if I'm just having an off day. I'll put it away and try again later.

I was really wanting the creamy, floral kissed coconut but alas, it was not to be. I get a little bit of the floral and possibly a touch of something green, but only if I try really hard to find it. I tested a very small little eensy weensy baby drop on the back of my hand and goodness! it drowns out the Enraged Bunny Musk I slathered on my person earlier today. I can smell it on my hand even when held far away from my face! Now that's some throw!!! I guess I can look at it like this; bad news... it smells like Tokyo Stomp on me, good news... it smells like Tokyo Stomp on me! Okay, now I don't know what to think of this one! I just finished typing this review and my dd comes in and says she smells something good. I asked her to sniff my hand and she smells, of all things, COCONUT AND FLOWERS WITH VANILLA CREAM!!!! That's what I wanted to smell!!!!! She didn't know what I was testing, so I asked her if she smelled Tokyo Stomp (she has her own decant, so she knows what it smells like) and she says not at all! This is the 2007 version BTW, so maybe my nose just can't pick up those particular smells yet. In any case, it's a keeper. 8-1-08 Well I'm glad I kept this on the back burner. I do detect a green (?) note about this now. It's creamy and floral for sure, (that's what my dd smelled but I didn't) and there's a touch of sweetness to it. It dries a bit powdery and has a bit of a vanilla feel to it now also. I feel the coconut more than smell it, if that makes sense. I'm horrible at picking notes but I do know it's closer to the reviews here, and it is definitely NOT Tokyo Stomp to me anymore!

I guess I set my expectations a bit too high with this. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, but it confuses me. At first sniff, I can smell the sweetness of the cotton candy with a bit of coconut and a very slight fruitiness. Upon application however, I get a face full of suntan lotion. I like this scent, but since I could get it from the store, I waited for it to morph....(pleaded for it to morph). It did. As it turned into a cakey candy smell, I could see the potential for complete love develop. After a few hours, when I went to pick my kids up from school, my youngest dd asked me why she was smelling candy sticks (remember those candy cigarettes). That's when I noticed I smelled like cookies! For now, I'll have to give it a 3.5 but I'm thinking this could increase. I'll have to hold on to it for a while. *Oh I hope this one loves me if I let it age...*

I have no idea what I wore for Christmas Eve or Christmas day, but right now I'm wearing Lurid Library since I'll be here snuggled up next to a book during the count down!

It seems I need to give 2 reviews for this one.... the first as a fresh decant from a group buy, the second as a slightly aged, kept in a dark box in a cool room, not so new decant. (The difference of only a few weeks...) Upon first sniff, it smells sweet, but I can't place any particular sugar with it. Still, it smells like it would be interesting on. As soon as it touches my skin, I can smell burnt sugar. Not a pleasant slightly overcooked brown, but a dreadful black scorched sugar. I am determined to keep it on for as long as possible, just in case it changes, and it does. Unfortunately, I can still smell the scorched sugar in the background, but what has bloomed seems like it would be beautiful by itself. I (obviously) wait. The second time (today) was a much better test of the oil. It didn't change much in the bottle, but upon applying it to my skin, ! What a difference! I can smell maple syrup and brown sugar, both heated to reveal a slightly burnt, but not offensive sugar smell. Underneath this glorious aroma, for some reason, I am getting something that reminds me (to my nose) of carnation. Mind you, it doesn't smell like carnation, but it does remind me somewhat of a spicy floral. I'm so glad I didn't give this one away like I had originally planned. Now I'll have to save up and hunt this one down too. Oh, and the throw is marvelous! I'm so glad the throw wasn't as strong the first time. ETA: Maybe I should have read some of the more recent posts first! I have a bottle of Pink Moon 07 that I have forgotten about! That's where I remember the spicy floral from!!!

This smells like sweet (real) pear. I detect a hint of the vanilla too. As it dries it mellows down to a slightly sweet & fruity with an almost powdery scent on me. I wore this for the first time today and got 2 "boy something smells good" and 4 "OMG! You smell delicious!!!", completely unsolicited. I'm getting more.
