    Rosalind

I heart Rosalind. Berries and grasses with touches of floral. It is a little airy and aquatic, but mainly it is another delicate summer scent.

    Thalia

Effervescent, bright & crisp. Plumeria is dotted with ripe pear. It is a perfect scent for the summer. Bubbly, bright and simply gorgeous.

    Magus

Love this. Dry, dusty cedar and sandalwood mingle with frankincense and high john essence. It's herbal, and woodsy and masculine.

    Plunder

An aquatic woodsy scent with a boatload of spices inside. I am also one who wanted to try this after the many references to chai tea. While it's a beauitful scent, it's not exactly what i was looking for. The sandalwood is dry and dusty, and the spices almost become too sweet. It's just not coming together with my skin chemistry, even though all the notes are winners for me.

    Morocco

Dry woodsy sandalwood, combines with spicy carnation, musk and resiny arabian spices. It is is soft, comforting, yet sexy all at the same time. Smoky wafts of incense along with musk and creamy carnation give the impression of spicy vanilla musk. Absolutely lovely.

    Black Death

While I don't tend to love blends with patchouli, every once in awhile, they really sing on my skin. Black Death is one of those times it sings. Mainly this is clove & blackened sandalwood with orange and lemon verbena. I find the golden amber adds just the smallest touch of sweetness to a blend that is very dark, heavy and rich. It's almost liek a cup of really strong chai has been altered ever so slightly. The labels to Black Death and Black Heart are beautiful, and I just layered all three together...OMG. *swoons* *faints* STUNNING.

    Black Heart

Wow. Black Heart is stunning. It's purple, full of plum and very vanilla. I was hoping sandalwood & cognac would stand out more, but we'll see if aging helps any. While it is sweet, it's a dark yet creamy sweetness. The carnation adds a touch of spice, the plum and pomegranate while drenched in vanilla still maintian a sort of juicy freshness.

    Whirling Wind Moon

This is everything I had hoped for and more. Dry sandalwood and oakmoss is sweetened by amber and florals. Plumeria and lily of the valley stand out more than the hyacinth, while the dark airy musks keep to the background. It's woodsy, cold, and powdry. Love it.

    Moon of the Terrible

Desolation at the last moment in the gloaming on New Year's Day: winter snow with lavender, benzoin, lychee, white resins, and a cluster of melancholy, lachrymose lunar herbs and florals. Another favorite lunancy. Lavender snow soaked in bright, crisp resins and lychee. It is absolutely breathtaking and slightly aquatic. I wish that I had purchased multiple bottles.

    Old Moon

Frozen berries and evergreen. It's sweet and slightly spicy. Soft florals help temper the evergreen after it has had a chance to morph on my skin.

    Wolf Moon 2007

Cold, snowy & woodsy. This is the ultimate winter blend. It is hauntingly chilly, while the cedar, pine and sandalwood are slightly softened with tonka, amber and juniper berry. It's spicy and sweet, yet maintains a darkness with the addition of black musk. Love, love Wolf Moon.

    Holiday Moon

Quite possibly one of my favorite lunacy blends. It's tart, crip and fresh. I adore tea scents, and bamboo is love. Together they meld to produce this green, citrussy tart scent. It's lush and bright and simply gorgeous.

    Capricorn 2007

Pine, resins and an overall feeling of cold. It is definitely woodsy, yet there is a touch of sweetness with the ambrette and wild tobacco. I love pine blends and this is no exception. It's resiny, kinda masculine and very comforting.

    Bensiabel

Herbal lilac and leather. Love it.

    The Witch's Garden

Earthy, herbal, and slightly sweet. The florals add sweetness, while sage adds a herbal element. It feels medicinal and the carrot and parsley give a certain earthiness, and add to the herbal tone.

    Godfather Death

Dry, dusty, extremely woodsy and very herbal. Slightly masculine, it takes a long while for the Bulgarian rose to poke through, and when it does, it is barely there. I smell orris, yet it is not listed. Mostly this Olibanum and oppoponax. As a woods lover, this is a great scent, but I really wanted the rose to come out and soften the hard lines of this blend.

    The Lights of Men's Lives

Smoky, woodsy beeswax. It is light, not too sweet and the beeswax behaves with my skin chemistry.

    Vasilissa

Oh wow. Creamy, pink, woodsy and very delicate. Sandalwood, amber and soft musks combine together to create this sweet, soft woody floral blend. I love this.

    Bon Vivant

Sparkling, bubbly strawberries drowning in champagne. The champagne is tart, and dry, and the berries manage to sweeten everything up. A playful scent.

    Yew-Trees

One of my first true BPAL loves. Wood, berries and evergreen. It doesn't get any better than this. Lot's of medicinal pine surrounded by sweet berries. Dry, dusty and very strong. A little goes a long way.

    Black Pearl

Evocative of the sea's unplumbed mysteries. Gentle and lovely, but menacing and profound. Coconut, Florentine iris, hazelnut and opalescent white musk. Coconut musk with wafts of iris. I don't really per se smell hazelnuts, but there is definitely a nutty undertone throughtout. Slightly tropical and very pretty. A great scent for the summer.

    Event Horizon

Dark, mysterious, thick resiny florals. It's spicey and it is kinda heady, but not in a tropical/lush floral vibe. More like a heady resinous floral with spice and sophistication. It's beautiful, not neccessarily bottle worthy, but I'll enjoy my imp.

    Strangler Fig

Creamy, green, earthy, woody. I detect a smidge of honey mingling alongside roots, dirt and figs. It doesn't get any better than this.
  24. Schmoozy

    Chimera

Honeyed almond and cinnamon. It's thick, spicy and kinda foody. Copal and myrrh keep this from becoming too sweet, and help round out the cinnamon, which could have become a nightmare, but thankfully don't. I was hoping for more of a chai type scent, but plunder and bengal are more up the chai alley than chimera.

    Black Forest

Perhaps one of my most favorite wood blends ever. This is pine, juniper and cypress sweetened with amber and a touch of musk. It is crisp, cold and strangely scray. For some reasons I always get shivers when I apply black it. Black forest holds strong scent memories for me.
