    Black Opal

Soft, comforting vanilla. To my nose it smells like clean laundry, or vanilla pop rocks. Whatever it is, it's very relaxing and soothing.

    Kumiho

A perfect summer scent. It's crisp, sharp, fresh and extremely juicy. This is exactly what it says ginger and white tea. Love.

    Cordelia

Such a light, wispy scent. Soft lilac and wisteria mingle with cedar. Touches of lemon dart in and out, while the green tea and chinese musk stay firmly in the background making sure the florals do not get out of hand. Overall a soft citrus floral with musk and cedar. Very pretty.

    Tamora

Love. There is nothing better than amber and sandalwood and mixed with vanilla bean aand peach blossom this is slightly sweeter and extremely golden. Tamora is sexy, but light. Not a dark mysterious sexy scent, but a fun, light-hearted gal next door type sexy.

    The Zieba Tree

The Zieba Tree is hauntingly beautiful. Spicy, woodsy, with the barest hint of lemon and peach. White sandalwood is at the forefront - dry, crisp, and together with resins creates this dreamy feminine scent. Lemon and Orange blossom add spice and sweetness and the peach rounds it all out. Love it. Bottle worthy.

    The Adoration of the Mi-Go

Aquatic incense with citrus and lichen. It is a an odd blend, yet it works.

    Nes Gadol Haya Sham

Hmmm. Interesting. At first I get cold, damp earth with hints of almond, red pppy and resins. After drydown, this morphs a little bit more to include carnation and hibiscus. It's kinda got a citrus feel to it if I sniff past the other notes, but mainly I detect earthy florals and resins. I will enjoy my decant, because there is something inside that pulls me further. I can't quite explain it.

The Smilin' Servitors' Hyperdimensional Holiday Hits

What?? This smells almost identical to Old Man Ackerman....It's fruity, it's metallic, it's bright and it has the same soapy perfume feel as Ackerman did. Ok, as it dries down, there are differences. The eucalyptus comes out and it becomes a strong menthol citrus blend. There is also a floral scent mingling along the cirtus and eucalyptus. It's nice and uplifting, but a decant will suffice.

    Now Winter Nights Enlarge

Unfortunately there is just too much going on in this blend, and it makes my stomach a little uneasy. It;s spicy, it's too sweet, the red musk is too dominant and then the traces of caramel actually turn into buckets of caramel and the whole thing just goes south. For the most part caramel, honey and red musk are usually doom notes, and this blend they are no exception.

    Sol Invictus

Absolutely golden, and uplifting. Sol Invictus is fruity, sunny, slightly resiny and simply beautiful. Am thrilled that it came back this year. It's bright and cheery, yet at the same time the amber and frankincense along with saffron keep it spicy, and thick with sticky sexiness.

    Diable en Boîte

This is strangely beautiful. Woodsy, smoky & spicy with just a tiny bit of sweetness from the tonka, currant and peach blossom to balance the bitterness of the clove, redwood and tobacco. Red musk is usually a bust with my skin chemistry, but here it combines wonderfully with the redwood to enhance the musky quality of the wood and tobacco. Not going to need a bottle of this, but I definitely will enjoy my decant.

    Yule Cat

Malevolent musk, a drop of infernal civet, vetiver, club moss, birch, goosefoot, and rowan. Woodsy, dusty and extremely sharp. Unfortunately the civet and vetiver overwhelm the moss and birch. They take over the whole blend, and the woodsy aspect all but disappears. Sadly not for me.

    Old Man Ackerman's Instructional Toys

Shimmering, fruity metallics with touches of soapy perfume. I can definitely smell lemon and orange. It's bright, yet at the same time there is this metallic, oily feel to the blend. It has this femine vibe to it, which is surprising - I thought it would be more masculine. Overall a light, uplifting scent.

    Silver Phoenix

Oh Wow. Silver Phoenix has really blindsided me. It is a light effervescent blend. Moonflower, juniper, wild pear, and orris really stand out, while the others linger quietly in the background. While mostly sweet, luminous florals, the juniper adds a touch of spice and just a bit of woods to grpund it all.

    Quicksilver Phoenix

Stunning. Quicksilver is woodsy, herbal and extremely comforting. The lavender is neither sweet nor too medicinalis combines beautifully with white sandalwood and elemi. It feels velvety and silvery.

    Copper Phoenix

I wasn't expecting to love this blend, but it sure suprised me. I adore how Beth is incorperating rose-infused amber into several blends lately, and this one is no exception. Sweet orange and honey add a little too much sweetness at first, but it settles down once the cardamom, pink pepper and earthy patchouli join in. It has hints of apricot and alongside the rose-infused amber it is fruity, slightly floral, spicy and earthy all together. The late addition of red sandalwood, ties a woodsy vibe to the earthy patchouli and tempers the sweetness from the other notes.

    Gold Phoenix

Gold Phoenix is a bright, oddly sweet, creamy and extremely beautiful. The first few minutes is literally a transformation as the all the notes struggle to coem to the top. Once it has the chance to settle, it blooms with my skin chemistry. This is sweet citrus woods, with resiny amber and frankincense. Perhaps my favorite Phoenix.

    Pet Magah Bird

Juicy fruits & berries mingle with coconut and violet. It is sweet, energetic blend that combines the lushness of fruits and florals and together it produces a tropical explosion. Definitely a scent to make the winter blahs go away.

    Faunalia

Wow. For some reason this blend smells quite similar to Leo '07 and The Magi from last Christmas. Once on my skin it is a fizzy, sweet green musk that sticks very close to the skin. The smell of forest woods (pine & fir) are so light that it is hard to make out at first. Faunalia is a warm, spicy musk blend that differs from everything else this yule. I absolutely adore this.

    Mason & Jenkin's Port Jelly

Red and sticky! From a genuine Old Salem recipe! Ooooh. This is sticky! Tart red berries with an underlying note of booze.

    Sleipnir

Wow. This is really refreshing. Nuts, berries and honey. Sweetened granola, yet it is also a little tart and very mild.

Mother Shub's Spiced Lait de Chèvre

Creamy, spicy egg nog with a shot of coffee. It is a perfect vanilla/coffee drink and I love that the liqueur is barely noticeable.

    Lick It Til It's Sticky

The stickiest thing you shouldn't lick this winter. Peppermint candy cane with an extra jolt of sugar. Yum. The perfect sugared peppermint candy cane. It seems extra icy this year. Love it!

    The Season of Ghosts

Another surprise hit. Spicy bergamot and ginger combines with lemongrass and orange that instantly improves mood. Again along with In Winter in my Room, these two blends should become permenant additions to the Panacea. Uplifting, invigorating and sorely needed to endure the long, cold, depths of winter.

    In Winter in My Room

In Winter in my Room is a surprise break in the yule belnds. This is warm, fun, slightly tropical blend that evokes memories of summer and the seasons to come. It is an uplifting blend with citrus and light florals and the tiniest hint of tonka and resins. Love it.
