I'm not quite sure what to make of this one. My nose keeps saying WATER! and I'm thinking that's the snow. Wet, there was a lot of moss that's calmed down a bit now. The woods are getting stronger as it dries. It's definitely got a snowy forest feel to it. I may need to try this again just to get a better feel for it. Wintry, not overpowering, not much throw.

I'm not a coffee drinker and the smell of straight coffee can really do a number on me but when blended with chocolate and cinnamon?? Oh YES. Dia de los Reyes is straightforward--all four notes are present and accounted for. It's rich and warm. Dry, I'm getting the brown sugar and chocolate most of all, and it's absolutely decadent! If the cinnamon in this will behave on me and not irritate my skin, this is a winner.

I love the citrusy brightness of this when freshly applied--so cheery!--but that fades fast and I'm left with a whole lot of amber, and frankincense doing its weird thing on me. Not gonna work on me, although I love the concept.

This 13 is morphing like crazy. It begins as OMG FUDGE! and moves on to OMG PRUNES! after about 15 minutes. This prune bit scared me a little because it was *strong* and a little too fruity...but it passed after a few more minutes and now I'm getting a lot of myrrh and incense and tobacco and the flowers are peeking through, just skimming over the surface. Really complex and deep. This is going to age spectacularly. And I love the label!

A lighthearted winter scent: chilly vanilla rose snowballs! Dainty, soft, and certainly unfit for flinging! Oh, lovely! This just SQUEALS pink. Soft powdery rose/flowers (I almost want to say I smell some carnation) and equally soft vanilla. Makes me think of a fluffy girly old-fashioned boudoir. Nice throw, too. This'll be a bottle for sure if the staying power is good.

I missed out on this one last time around so was glad to see it return. I get watery cucumber with a hint of mint. This says "green" to me more than snow and ice. Not my thing, but a light, interesting scent.

Sigh. Three years now I've tried the variations on Lick It and it's the same story--cool, sweet peppermint that's the definition of "refreshing"...and my skin eats it in about 5 minutes. One of these years, though, I'm going to cave and buy a bottle just because it feels so tingly awesome on my skin. I think in the heat of July I'd LOVE that.

Red musk and patchouli--this is almost a dead ringer for Lust on me. Maybe just a teeny bit sweeter from the blood and flowers. It's gorgeous, and I do love Lust, but I'm not sure I need more of it...however this might smell completely different with age, knowing what's in it. Good stuff though.

Wet, this is *wonderful*--sparkly orange/tangerine fizz with a slight tangy saltiness from the ambergris. So playful and bright and cheerful! Later it's a little tamer and not as citrusy whoa and I can pick up the sandalwood and tonka--barely, because this becomes pretty quiet and close to the skin. It's very cute and happy and different, though, and if it can past the test of staying on me all day it'll be bottle-worthy.

Definitely chocolate cupcake batter--but this is so LIGHT! Usually cocoa blends are a lot stronger on me. There is a sourness that keeps coming and going in this every few minutes; I'm guessing this is how the filth (eheh) is translating on my skin. I think I'd like this if it were a little more in-your-face cupcakey but it's just not.

There's a very pretty soft vanilla in this in the vial and when it's fresh, but the leather very quickly comes out and after it does that's nearly all I can smell. Leather, a bit of smoke, and a perfumey/sweetness underneath all of that. It's great if you love leather but I can wear it only under very controlled circumstances and this isn't one of them. It does have nice throw!

Finally!! I was starting to worry that this wouldn't live up to all the anticipation I've had but I was WRONG. This is delicious and spot-on blackberry pastry (I keep thinking of blackberry cobbler while huffing my wrist). It's perfect!!

I had to have this--I love the concept and the photograph that inspired it! The oil itself is just as beautiful. I get a lot of rotting leaves/vetiver at first and then it becomes more of an old fabric and dust scent...it's not overpowering and very subtle so I'd call this wearable even though it's definitely on the odd side. It's like sitting in an old dusty house on a late autumn day. A gorgeous concept blend.

This is a wonderful "perfumey" blend--the skin musk and rose give it a classic feel. I'm not sure what the Oriental perfume is exactly but I get a bit of amber/resin from it. Very ladylike and a bit spicy.

Red musk, red musk...I do love it so!...and then I smell smoke! How interesting...then the clove and patchouli pop up. This initially does remind me of Mme. Moriarty but that smokiness adds a new dimension so this is darker and not as sweet. A bit unsettling, even. I do like it but I'm going to have to give it some wear before I decide if it's bottle-worthy. Very fitting for Halloween!

Green, green, GREEN and herbal--I was hoping for a little more anise from this but I'm getting all greenery and sage. Very strong, this one--awesome if you like really green blends but a little headache-inducing if you don't!

Another seasonal classic I've not yet tried. The cactus blossom is jumping out at me and stomping all over the other notes here although I'm picking up on some jasmine too. Very floral. I'm not getting the foodiness here at all that I'd expect from the description. It's ok but cactus isn't really a note I love. Glad I finally tried it though!

Beautiful. I can't really describe this beyond "smoky sweet musk" but that about sums it up. I can't usually do anything with a smoky note in it but this is really gorgeous and dark.

I'm *so* glad this one came back this year as I've been wanting to try it for ages. It smells exactly like caramel apples to me--delicious!! I do pick up a bit of coconut but it's far in the background. I'd like to see how this ages. PERFECT for Halloween and very fun.

In the decant I get a lovely nutty/fruit thing from Pomona but once it hits my skin it's all apple blossom with just a light hint of the berries. I wish the nuts had stuck around!! Very light, little throw.
-
Oh wow--this one, I love!! Sweet sugary cotton--like if you sprayed clean sheets with cotton candy! Light, and wears very close, but oh, this is pretty and gentle. Gorgeous and could be worn year-round.

Alas!! So wonderfully caramelly/almondy in the decant but the drydown is doing that celery thing on me. I do get a hint of the rose that so many people are mentioning, though--it seems to be coming out more the longer this is on my skin! Odd. I may give this a retry once I'm a little less hormonal and see how it turns out.

The pure corn note of this one straight out of the imp is a little unexpected and weird, but the candy-corn aspect of it pops up almost instantly as it begins to dry. Smells exactly like candy corn to me, with a maple-y touch. Yummy! I'm not sure if I need to smell like this on a regular basis but it's a fun scent.

Yep, this is boozy cherry all right. The cherry is wonderfully tart, not sweet. The booziness fades the longer I wear this so I'm left with a light sour cherry smell. It's nice, but it's very faint with little throw. A simple blend, but cute.

Mmm, yes, very very rosy and rich! This isn't green fresh rose like The Queen's Croquet Ground but heavier and lusher. Very pretty.
