OMG dirt! Musty dirt! But as it dries it becomes fresher and a hint of white flowers peeks out from underneath the soil. The end result is clean soil. Fabulous if smelling like soil is your thing, and really interesting.

Earthy patchouli goodness, and for once the jasmine doesn't go to 11 on me. Nice! After about an hour I get a sweetness from the neroli but mostly The Caterpillar is mossy and green.
-
WHOA swampy indeed...rotting wood, murky water...unfortunately after a while this is going soapy on me too. It's very cool and green before it hits the soap stage, though--I'm not an aquatic fan by any means but this one is something I could almost wear before it turns on me.

Ozone, incense, and above all CEDAR. I love the woodsiness. This would smell terrific on a guy.

Dark and creepy--it's all vetiver while wet but then the blood note comes out (eeeee!) and a metallic note. After a while I get the sandalwood as well. It's all a bit unsettling.

This is a fun one. Sweet, sugary carrots at first (mmm), then a stage that reminded me of vegetable stew, and then, finally a sweet oaty scent. It really does smell like something you'd feed a very happy horse. As a perfume...well, I don't think so, but it's a great concept.

I'm not a fan of pumpkin but I wanted to try all the Sleepy Hollows, so... This begins as wet, fresh pumpkin, rind and all. Not really pleasant to me but that's how I am with pumpkin. As it dries I began to pick up the watery quality and the pine. Weirdly, leather-amping me isn't getting the leather here! This is a strange, strange blend; it certainly paints a portrait in your mind but isn't something I want to smell like.

A light, green dandelion, with the clover note only coming out long after it's dried. Lovely if you like dandelion!
-
Hmm...I'm mostly getting apples and pine from this, with some spiciness. No pumpkin or patchouli at all! Not what I was expecting. It's a nice spicy apple scent but I was hoping for something darker. Glad I finally tried it though!

Wet: hard to describe. Florals? Grass? Dry: blackberry! And greenery and a little spicy frankincense. Odd but nice. Light and feminine.

I love moonflower but I tend to amp it like CRAZY. So mostly all I smell here is moonflower and something a bit green--the ivy? It's beautiful and light and a little spooky. I don't expect it to last long on me but it's so pretty while I can still smell it!

Spicy mulled cider YUM. I could never actually wear this as I can tell it'll burn me like crazy but OMG this smells great. I wish this was one of the room sprays! Reminds me a bit of Plunder, but the fruitiness makes it a little sweeter and less dry. Gorgeous!

Why does this remind me of green tea?? This is a really fresh, clean musk. I was expecting Crowley + leather but this is a lot lighter and less, well, murky. And the leather smells kind of fresh itself. Really masculine but something you'd wear in the daytime rather than in the dark of night.

I was ready to lick my arm while this was wet--it was the most wonderful orange cake! Sort of an orangey Eat Me. The anise has really popped out as it's dried, though, and while it's nice it's so different from that cakey goodness. I might try this in my hair to see if the early-stage orange note has a little more staying power.

I love the lab's rose notes although the blends sometimes tend to fade quickly on me. Kat's holding up pretty well so far. A fresh blast of strong rose dries down into a creamier, softer scent and then the honey comes through. It's simple and very pretty.

Poor Ichabod. He is SO made of fail on my skin. He smells like a peppered wet sheep dipped in melted wax and is raising welts on my hand to boot. Great concept but I cannot even begin to pull this one off.
-
This smelled just like the description--smoke and flames! It's a great concept but I don't really want to go around smelling like ashes. But thumbs up for the idea.

Really herbal and light. The shea that took over my skin in Obatala is not as dominant here (thank goodness!) but just provides a nice background for all those herbs. This is for someone who loves fresh, green scents, definitely, and very unisex.

WHOA JUNIPER. Is there anything else in here? Oh, a little lilac too. This is one of the few red musk blends I've tried that I can't pick out the musk in. There's some woodsiness here and some orchid but that damn juniper is just not letting anyone else speak up much. I find this rather masculine. Unusual collection of notes in Himerus, I'll give it that!

Just kind of perfumey and soapy on me. I tried this because I love black musk but I'm not getting any of it here. There is a smoky/ashy background but it's mostly just generic perfume.

Queen Alice took a while to settle on my skin; she went from WINE to CARNATION to WINE to CARNATION back and forth for ages. The final drydown seems to be wine, carnation, and cider. It's a rather bizarre blend of notes and I don't think it works on me (carnation hardly ever does) but this is an interesting scent "sequel" to Alice.

Lush, velvet-red blooms born from the blood shed in the eternal battle between Set and Horus the Avenger. Inspired by Tammy Roth. Total lotus on me (that candylike BPAL lotus! I like it in moderation, but...) with a background of spicy/sweet dragon's blood. I love the plant-y feel of the lotus. Simple and straightforward, this one.

Mmm, cinnamon (I guess that's the spice in the spiced rum) and woods. This is yummy! I don't get any booziness from the rum but the spice in this is fantastic, and it's not overly sweet and foody like a lot of cinnamon BPALs, so it's got a more unisex vibe. Nice!

Wet: yummy anise! Dry: this is starting to smell like an old-school, classic perfume now that I can't quite put my finger on. I think it's the civet. It's not a good note on me--it's too animalistic...but there's something very old-fashioned about this blend. Weirdly enough the vetiver is barely there! Not a hit for me, this one, but it's interesting.
-
Oddly foody. I had this pegged as a dirt-and-woods scent but the basil and clove and cumin make it spicy and almost sweet. The vetiver is most noticeable when it's wet and then the spices and a bit of pine take over. Not at all like I imagined it! But not bad either.
