Sweet bubblegummy lotus at first. Then I smell cedar and sandalwood. I'd say this smells like gum stuck under a cedar table but...it's nicer than that! Overall it's a very sweet woody blend. I wouldn't wear it, but I'd love to have a closet that smells like it.

    Florence

I was worried about the iris and I needn't have been. Florence has a gorgeous deep amber note with rich juicy berries and some spicy-sweet yumminess blended in. It smells *rich* and heavy; I was expecting something lighter but I like it!

    La Belle Dame Sans Merci

Rose and lilac turning to soap even faster than I can type!

    The Jersey Devil

I don't know why I put off trying this for so long. I love cranberry and blackberry and this is all about those two notes. Fruity wonderfulness! The tomato provides a tangy tartness so the fruits aren't too sweet and there's a bit of pine there but it's not overpowering. This'll be great to wear now in late summer while the tomatoes are ripe!

This absolutely screams "green"...except in a quiet way. Herbs, flowers, and something watery--must be those mists and that dew! This really transports you to someplace rainy and green. Not for me to wear as perfume but it'll be a lovely room scent.

Wet: cocoa-y vetiver? I don't think that could be what this really is but that's what I'm smelling. Dry: DIRT. Old, musty dirt--not the fresh overturned kind. Rooty and moldery. This is light?? Huh.

Loved this wet--orange blossom is always great on me. As it dried the rosemary came out more and more and it's a very bitter, sharp rosemary--green and herbal and STRONG. I love that smell in food but on me, not so much.

    Marie

Straight-up tea rose. I love tea rose so that was ok with me. This had very little staying power and throw, though. Very delicate and pretty while it lasts.

    Malice

I wanted to love this--I love every note in it! But it smelled very...*burnt* on me. Dark and ashy. Not sure what went wrong there.

    Forbidden Fruit

This one was horrible on me (and it smelled so nice in the imp!)--the lotus in it is probably the strongest, most dominating lotus note I've ever tried and none of the other notes ever even had a chance. I can stand a little bit of lotus but too much is not a good thing on my skin.

    Brisingamen

Loved the ambery beginning of this one but after a while the carnation took over and was way too overpowering. Carnation, you and I just are NOT going to get along, ever. Sorry!

    Hades

I smell cypress and opopanax. And powdery narcissus. This is way too men's-cologne for me though and is making my head ache.

    Grandmother of Ghosts

Musk and mandarin and soft flowers. I wasn't expecting the mandarin to be so dominant in this but it's very fruity on me. I don't think I've tried many blends with pepper in them, so I'm lousy at picking that note out, but there is something vaguely spicy going on here. This doesn't have much throw, but close to the skin it's pretty nice--nothing spectacular, just *nice*.

    The Phantom Wooer

Wet: Lemon. Huh??? That's in there? Really? Dry: Still a hint of lemon, but mostly faint, ethereal flowers--moonflower and lillies. An earthy undertone from the mosses. This is going to go powder on me quickly but it's very lightly pleasant while it lasts--especially with that lemon note, which I wish had a little more staying power!

    The Buggre Alle This Bible

Mostly sweet (from the tobacco) leather. It smells just like a Bible cover, to paraphrase Bobby Hill. Very musty.

    Aziraphale

Woody musk. A hint of incense? And *paper*--this really does smell like books! Aziraphale is, as he should be, much more polite and refined than the Crowley. But he's still got sex appeal in his own way.

    The Blockhead

I love Jailbait so this one caught my eye. It's bubblegum extreme! As it dries I'm getting a metallic note from it that reminds me of gum in shiny silver wrappers. And a bit of leather (odd, as usually leather is like WHOA CRAZY on me). If the leather stays under control then this is a winner for me--those metal/leather notes keep the bubblegum from being too preteen girl over-the-top sweet. Definitely a different blend!

    Anathema

Sweet opium! The honeysuckle smells just a little sour on me. Interesting to see that in the ongoing Battle of The Notes I Amp, opium trumps vetiver. Haha awesome. This reminds me a bit of Cathedral--that old, incensey smell.

    Thanatos

I could barely detect this at all while it was wet. It's dried down into woody, rosy myrrh. It would make a *great* incense blend, but as a perfume, nope.

    Santa Muerte

I got a lot of cocoa from this wet, as others have said. Sort of an earthy cocoa from all that vetiver. Dry...it's reminding me of chlorine in a pool for some reason. Very chemical-y. It's also making my arm itch so I have to go wash this off ASAP.

    Nosferatu

Wet=the earthiest, dirtiest dirt EVER. Like playing in the dirt! Dry=dirt, with a green herbal tinge and a bit of wine. This certainly does paint a picture in scent but it smells very, very weird on my skin.

    The Black Tower

I had to try this because the description's so cool, but I don't think I can begin to describe what it smells like! Wet it's almost...stony?? Sharp. Metallic. Dry I'm getting a tangy red wine note with...a lot of other notes I can't really pick out. It's completely different wet and dry. Unusual, to say the least, but not something I could wear.

    Omen

Slightly sweet patchouli and DIRT--I think my nose is interpreting oakmoss as dirt in this blend. There's a spiciness in the background from the myrrh. This is masculine and a little too intense on my skin.

    Libertine

Primarily musk and violets--clean and floral. The laundry comments others have made are fitting! Doesn't strike me as overly manly.
  25. Iceblink

    Rome

A very *green* tea rose--the cypress and juniper are woodsy and keep the tea rose in check. I think I get a hint of chamomile in there somewhere. Something in this is giving me a bit of a headache, but it would make a great unisex rose/woods blend.
