Really really sour honey--almost repulsively so. I love most honey blends but the wine in this just makes it way too sour and strong.

Herbal/medicinal/pungent WHOA STRONG sassafras. This has quite the kick to it wet. It's drying down into a softer root beer-y scent, but overall it's still quite strong. I wish I was getting more myrrh out this.
-
Wet: all lime all the time! Drying: the musky background comes out more and more and then the lilacs bloom and are lovely for a few minutes. Then they start going powdery. Oh lilac, why can't we get along?? This is light and refreshing and beautiful while it lasts, though.

The patchouli and vetiver together make this smell really...dirty. Unclean. I smell the blood orange and ylang ylang too but the patch and vetiver are stomping them waaaaaaaaaaay down in the blend. This is way too earthy for me.

Slightly sweet, slightly amber-y leather. TONS of leather. I'd love to smell this on someone else besides Miss Leather Amper me.
-
What begins as strong, strong myrrh fades into soft myrrh with violets and lily of the valley...it's very pretty and perfumey. Could border on old-lady, not that there's anything wrong with that. Stays close to the skin.

Sweet frankincense as the base with rose and lavender on top. Very soft, very feminine...and it's going to be powder on me in a flash...but it's nice while it lasts! Delicate and pretty.

Musky amber violets, with the amber reigning supreme. A bit of sandalwood. This smells pretty generic on me--too bad because I love the description!

Wet: Pickles WTF? Oh right...there's olive leaf in here. Carry on... Drying...I smell a LOT of cedar, a faint herbalness, and I don't think I can smell the vetiver at all. That's unusual. I get a hint of fruity/raspberry floating around in there too. This smells more masculine than not to me--earthy, woody...and the olive leaf is interesting and keeps me from thinking of houses under construction. OK but I don't see myself wearing this.

Roseroserose drying down into patchouli-scented rose with a lot of sandalwood. Reminds me a lot of Rakshasa, which I liked but didn't really work on me. Faint and not too long-lasting.
-
Sandalwood, rosewood, and above all FLORALS. Lilac and lily together should spell doom on me but they smell ok so far. Maybe the woods are making them behave. This is one of those "expensive soap" BPALs...nice, light, wouldn't want to smell like it all day, but would love it in the shower.

Lots of coconut but BUTTER is what I smell most. I must amp shea butter. News to me! The coconut note here is nice but the shea is too heavy and rich. It's like eating the last bite of a really sweet dessert even if you don't want it. Too gooey.

Oooooh. Black musk with pine--not so much pine that it takes over but just creates that foresty feeling. I'm picking up the ambergris a bit too. This is unisex and warm. And heavy! Couldn't wear this in the summer but it'll be great for the holidays.

Wet, smells just like Oneroi, Somnus, and Temple of Dreams...dries down into anise and lavender. This faded faster than any of the other sleep formulas have on me. I always have weird dreams so I can't tell if this made any difference in that department (and I didn't really want it to!) but it's a nice enough blend to dab on at bedtime. Restful.

Goblin is downright *edible* when wet. The coconut is sweet and foody. As it dries the benzoin and patchouli take over, though, and they're not nearly as good. It turns into a sort of generic patchouli blend, quite masculine, on me. I may let this age some more and try it again in cooler weather.

I get a light floralness from Kali. Where's the wine and chocolate? Lotus sometimes kills blends for me and I think that's what happening here. It's just so faint and with all those notes it really ought to be stronger. Disappointing.
-
I'm getting a whiff of chocolate mint from this too. Huh? The black musk is gorgeous and rich. The other notes (lavender? citrus? really?) keep the musk from being too heavy...this is light and almost refreshing. Maybe it's the pennyroyal giving it that mintyness; I don't think I've tried anything else with pennyroyal in it and I'm not sure what it should smell like. I like this blend.

Floral mishmash that went powdery on me in seconds. Lilies just aren't my thing.
-
Crap. This smelled like tonka/lilac goodness in the imp but dried down into generic men's cologne on me. Lysander, how could you?

Desire is SO sensual. Black mush + vanilla + teak=HOT. The bergamot and fruits give it a spiciness but the overall feeling is musky vanilla, and it's wonderful. I could see this working on a man well, too, since the fruits aren't too sweet. Love it!
-
Ripe, rich honeyed apples. An incensey-ness in the background. This is very sweet and light. I don't smell rose from it but the other notes are gorgeous without it. I think this is the best apple-y BPAL I've tried so far.
-
Way too much carnation; not enough rose. Maiden actually gave me a headache. I do love the nail polish though.
-
Mmm, candy! The neroli in Lorelei smells like fruity Spree or Smarties candies. The other notes keep it from being too cloying--it just smells fruity and fresh instead of overly sweet. I love this! Underrated.

Fresh clean laundry! Dirty is simple and light. I used it on some dryer sheets and it made my laundry smell great. It's not something I'd wear as perfume but I love it mixed in with my linens.

Almost 100% verbena, with a little white musk. Very clean-smelling and subtle. Great for laundry, not for wearing on my skin.
