    Black Lace

Total musk WHOA on first application--very Smut-like on me. But then you get the vanilla, and the tobacco, and I can barely barely barely get a hint of cotton in there. This is lovely--very delicate and ladylike after that initial blast of musk. As it sits on my skin I'm getting a faintly liquor-y scent in there which I guess is the cognac. A really pretty blend and I think it'll be even better after some aging! I don't regret my panic purchase of it.

    Fairy Wine

This one's just like the description--honeyed, fruity wine, with the dandelions popping in to add a little green note there. It's nice and reminiscent of Athens on me, although I like this better! Strong throw too. I'd never wear this in cold weather but I may revisit it when summer comes around again.

    Lady Una

First whiff, this reminded me of that fruity cereal feeling I got from Beaver Moon '07. I can't explain it, it just happened. But ooooh once this dries down a bit, it's awesome...very musky vanilla, with the blackberry keeping it from being overly sweet. It's really sensual and feminine and warm. This might become my first Gaiman bottle purchase. The vanilla + musk in this reminds me just a teeeeeny bit of the vanilla musk in Victoria, too.

    Dee

Very sweet on me. I'm guessing it's the tonka? I can't pick out the individual notes well with this one, really--it smells very dandified and fancy-laddish, in a good way. Strong strong throw too.

    White Rabbit

I have been curious (er and curiouser) about this one for a while but the number of times it's popped up in the Least Favorite Scents thread, etc. had me a little scared. Well. This smells exactly like Milk Moon '07 on me (as it has on others, I see, with some relief!). And I'm one of those weirdos who likes that one. It's all tart, sour candy with a bit of honey and milk to sweeten things up. And, like MM '07, it's got quite the throw. I don't think I'll need more of this but I'm glad to know that I don't need to fear it anymore.

    Sleepytime BPAL

I put whatever oil I'm using on my throat and wrists and on my upper arms if I'm sleeping in something sleeveless, since I tend to sleep with an arm curled up around my head. I've also put TKO on a bit of fabric and put it in my pillowcase a few times...that stuff lingers and it's got great throw--it makes the whole bedroom smell good!

    Midnight

Wow--almost all of the notes in this are new to me. Moonflower's overpowering everything, though. It's gone from a sour floral to almost straight moonflower. I fear the dreaded powder stage that happens with every "night" flower on me is coming, so I'm bracing myself.

    Delphi

Straight out of the imp this is SO sour! Almost like pickles. But it sweetens up after a few minutes into a honeyed wine. Sort of Athens meets Madrid. I'll have to give this one another spin on a hot day since it doesn't smell like an autumnal scent at all, but it's nice.

    Dragon's Hide

Dragon's blood and smoky leather. It is what the description says, indeed. BPAL's leather note tends to turn into New Car on me, with a couple of exceptions, so I'm going to pass this one on.

    Egg Nog

NOGGY GOODNESS! Egg Nog '07 is downright drinkable (but I won't! That would be wrong!). It really does smell just like a cup of slightly spiked egg nog! It is a little light but I like the boozy oils to be that way...keeps the coworkers from wondering if I have a flask in my desk. I'm so glad this was resurrected for this year's Yule!

    Midnight Kiss

Beautiful! This is not unlike Mania and Hollywood Babylon on me...the red musk and fruit (from the wine) combination, I guess. But this is sweeter and earthier at the same time. The cocoa is subtle, but it's there, and the patchouli must be what's bringing out that earthiness. I wasn't expecting it to be as sweet as it is but it really works!

    The Witch Queen

Plum, purply flowers, and incense...and it's gone SO fast on me. Dammit! This is nice while it lasts; it's very feminine and sexy but not overtly so. But I can't pick up the red musk at all and that's what I wanted to smell the most. Still, this is quite pretty.

    Beaver Moon 2007

I adored Bloody Mary and the first Beaver Moon, so getting a bottle of this was a no-brainer. It's downright tasty, this one. Wet, it reminds me of a cherry/strawberry Tweedledee, of all things--it's got that same fruit loops cereal smell about it. Yummy! As it dries the cake note comes out more and what's left smells just like strawberry cheesecake. Seriously delicious! The throw is, as others have said, subtle. But if you spend a lot of time around people who walk around going "What smells like cake??? Share it!" as my coworkers do whenever I wear something foody, subtle throw can be a good thing. I can enjoy Beaver Moon without being hassled!

    Nanshe

I got lemongrass from this and it's quite strong and very pretty. This is the first sleep blend I could see wearing as a fragrance during the daytime too. I sampled just a bit of it last night and had extremely vivid, active dreams all night long. Even after I woke up from them I had trouble shaking the dreams and getting back into the real world. If this is an effect of Nanshe I'm going to wear this often, because I love having such complex dreams.

    Somnus

I tested this last night, putting just a dab on one arm when I got out of the shower, and nearly dozed off while I was watching TV. Then when I did go to bed I slept quite well. Yay Somnus! It smells strongly of lavender, much like Oneiroi and Temple of Dreams (aside: there's something about all of these that smells sort of like the smell when you're getting your hair permed! What IS that?). The actual scent of Somnus faded away faster than Oneiroi does, but the effects were fabulous!

    Haunted

This is so sweet! Sort of an amber incensey blend. It's hard to pin down so I'm surprised to see that there are only two notes here. I'll need to wear it again to decide how I feel about it but so far I like it a lot.

    The Scales of Deprivation

Manly. I can pick out the lavender and sandalwood and something sharper that must be the lemon peel. This is really way too masculine for me but on the right man this could be dangerous.
  18. Iceblink

    Tenochtitlan

I kept sniffing this and thinking it was apple, then I read the notes--it's pear! Aha. Or it's pear at first, anyway. The drydown is more herbal and dry--the sage and coriander? Smells a bit like a spice rack. It's ok but there's nothing about this blend that makes me swoon. Just a nice smell.

    Lilith

Wine, wine, wine...Lilith definitely hangs out with Wanda. In Madrid. Lilith's spicier than Wanda and doesn't wear a leather jacket, though. Madrid still wins in the wine-note category, but this imp is worth hanging on to.

    Sed Non Satiata

A gorgeous honey when wet that dries down into WHOA MAN THAT'S HOT...the patchouli really warms things up and gives this such a spicy kick, and the myrrh sexifies everything so perfectly. This is not a sweet, innocent honey at all. The latter stages remind me a bit of Wylde Ivy's Little Shop in Salem oil, which is a good thing. Very sexy, and I can't wait to wear this on a cold day when my, um, heart needs warming up!
  21. Iceblink

    Nefertiti

Almost straight-up iris on me. I guess this is another of those flowers that I amp like crazy. I do get some sandalwood from it but that's about it.
  22. Iceblink

    Blood Moon 2005

Cinnamon! You smell so good, and hurt me so much! Something like dragon's blood is backing this up but it's mostly cinnamon. Not what I expected at all, but interesting.
  23. Iceblink

    Storm Moon

Very very ozone-y and clean (maybe that's the "dryer sheet" note lots of people get from this). I don't normally do ozone but it was fun to test this one out. Vanished within minutes, just like a summer thunderstorm can.

    Glasya

Something in this gave me itchy welts on my hand almost instantly, and I'm not sure what. I love red musk, dragon's blood, patchouli, and all those good things, so I'm wondering if it's the civet since I tend to stay away from civet. I did get a sexy musky whiff of it before I had to wash my hand, though, and mmmm, nice! I may try it again on another body part, just to see what happens. Otherise Glasya and I are not going to be friends.

    Blood Amber

Yep, that's dragon's blood and amber all right! The blood fades quickly on me and the amber goes like crazy. I like my dragon's blood blends to have a little more complexity than this, but it's nice enough.
