My favorite! This was the first BPAL scent that I tried on, thanks to Nightbird, who is responsible for my uncontrollable addiction. When I first sniffed the imp I was shocked by the vetiver. I didn't recognize it, so we looked it up to see the ingredients. It sounded amazing, but overwhelming. I was sniffing many of her imps, but kept coming back to Blood Kiss. I asked her if I could try it and an addiction was born. It smelled wonderful on me, which surprised us both. I've smelled vetiver alone and it is not pleasing at all; it's a heavy base note that smells very earthy and almost oily. But in combination with other scents it brings out the best in them and adds staying power. Blood Kiss is still the scent that has the most staying power on my scent-hungry skin. So the description: I'm not familiar with the scent of poppies, but I smell all of the other notes in combination. I can pick them out separately if I try, but why try? They smell wonderful together. Nothing is overpowering to me. This scent is a bit heavy, but that works for me. I immediately bought a 5mL bottle. I keep the imp in my jewelry dish & love catching a wiff every time I rifle through my earrings. The name is apt - it can imagine being "kissed" by a vampire and slowly falling under his spell as the blood leaves my body. It's a sensual smell, but not sexy (to me). I love it - I can't rave enough!

I was hoping to love this one; I guess that's a disapppointing strategy in many things, not just BPAL. When I first opened my imp I didn't know what to think. Puzzling, definitely. I didn't love it. I couldn't identify anything & didn't remember the components that made me want to try it. I looked it up & remembered why I wanted to love it so much. I love lavender, vetiver, lime, geranium, and cally lily. As I tried it on it immediately smelled better. I don't know if that was because of my body heat or my imagination. As it dried I could smell more of the individual notes, but none very strongly except for the patchouli. I'm not a big fan of patchouli, but I don't dislike it. I couldn't smell anything without sniffing my wrist, but my body eats up most of the ones I try on, sadly. I'll keep trying it, hoping it stays longer as my body chemistry morphs. This is a difficult scent to describe, but I do like it. It's cool and sharp and it makes me feel slightly wicked.

Well, at first sniff it's easy to pick out the individual scents, if you know what they are. I'm still not adept at identifying scents without hints. I immediately tried it on & fell in love. For me, this scent doesn't smell like its components unless I think about them. It is more of an emotional scent; it immediately sweeps me away into my dreams of water, just like an undertow. It doesn't smell like being by the water, to me, as it doesn't have those wet scents like algae, sand, water, boats, etc. . . I am definitely a water person and unfortunately don't live near the water now. I sometimes ache for it and Undertow allows me to experience it my head. Lovely scent!
