Bed of Nails- In Bottle: Kind of insect repellent men's cologne-y. Strong. Wet: A little floral--oh, I can smell the iron tang! I feel it in my tooth fillings, even, like I've bitten tinfoil! And there is more floral underlying. Something almost anise-ish or asian-spice-like. Dry: This is FASCINATING. Every single time I sniff my wrist, I feel the metal tingle in my teeth. How on earth did Beth do this? My impulse is to find a big bottle of this but I'm not sure; it might be more of a novelty scent for me. And it's got great staying power too! Overall: Fascinating--conditionally like!

Nuclear Winter- In Bottle: Mint and chlorine! Oh, wow. Smells just like a natatorium. Wet: Ozone-y. I'm in the natatorium but the air temperature just dropped dramatically. A little light sweet floral too. Dry: Dries down to a soft aquatic. Pleasing. A little bit floral. Overall: I like!
-
R'lyeh- In Bottle: Wood and chocolate and chlorine! I don't think it's just because the last one gave me a chlorine whiff. I'm really getting it again. Wet: Hmm. Slightly musky-dusty. Dry: No, not for me. Nondescript powdery. Overall: Unremarkable. Not for me.

Samhain (2005)- In Bottle: Oh, interesting. Apple, caramel, powder-spice. Wet: More of the same! Very sweet, lightly spicy, like...cardamom? Very warm scent. Dry: I like this. It has a sort of apple cider smell that is less sour than Block Buster, which put me off it a little. And the spice is sweet and pleasant. I will definitely use this one again! Overall: I like!

Geek- In Bottle: A masculine scent. I detect the cedar right off. Wet: Wood-and-chocolate sweet bloom! Spicy, too. Rich-smelling; makes me fear it could get cloying. Dry: This does get a little cloying. It's a rich masculine scent but I can't put my nose to my wrists too often or it makes me a little nauseated. Overall: Doesn't work for me, pity.
-
Shub-Niggurath- In Bottle: Straight straight straight straight ginger. Wet: Lemon pledge, ooh, really strong. The ginger's just the littlest undertone. Dry: Lordy, I can't sort out whether this is lemon or ginger. It's peppery, too. If I keep sniffing it's a little cloying. Well, it's a hard-to-obtain scent, apparently; I should be happy it's not for me. Overall: Novel but not for me.
-
Penny Dreadful- In Bottle: Ooh, the earthy smell. Stronger than The Premature Burial. Wet: Very strongly earth. I can't help but continue to compare it to The Premature Burial, which had the earth tones but also that spicy sweetness. Dry: There is almost a grape candy hint that comes out in this. It's interesting! Overall: I like. More of a novelty though.
-
Mi-Go Brain Canister- In Bottle: Very flowery and sweet! Wet: Tropical-sweet flowers, overwhelming all other scents, but not at all unpleasing. Dry: Whoa, my skin eats this one up fast! It's almost gone after ten minutes. Overall: Okay.
-
Whippoorwill- In Bottle: A little soapy, a little sweet and flowery. Nice. Wet: Very strong soap/flower bloom at first. Dry: Becomes a most pleasant light soapy floral. Very clean and not too ozone-y. Overall: Nice. Not a frequent flyer of mine but nice.
-
Freak Show- In Bottle: Wild. A little fruity, a little softly spicy and foodie...can't think of what to call it. Wet: A little wood-and-chocolate bloom, yummy and warm. Dry: This is a nifty scent! Warm and spicy and sweet--there's a note of sweet powderiness that prevents me from sniffing at it too much because it grows cloying if I do, but it's nice all the same. Overall: I like! (A little conditionally.)

Shill- In Bottle: Butter! Buttery salty butter with the tiniest tinge of sweet. Wet: Oh, that's so nifty, the salty butteriness. Dry: An interesting dry-down! The butter scent lingers; I really feel like I've wiped a piece of movie popcorn on my wrist, with that fake greasy movie butter. I could either come to love this one or make myself sick on it, I bet. Overall: Nifty!
-
Tulzscha- A crystalline, cold green fire: six mints with white pepper and cucumber. In Bottle: Miiiint. Lovely light spearminty mint. Wet: Mint and lemon verbena. I suppose that's the cucumber, actually! Dry: What lingers is the cucumber, and something fresh and soapy. Pleasant but I'm really not that keen on cucumber; I find it a little cloying. I wish the mint had hung around longer. Overall: Not for me but I'll keep it around to sniff.
-
Snow Bunny- In Bottle: Powder and flowers and sweetness! Oh, I smell berries--a yule berry smell! Wet: An orangey bloom on my skin. Mmm! And a little pine-and-berries, too. Dry: A little more sharply floral. It's actually a touch eye-watering. I think I like it but those strong whiffs make it conditional. Overall: Conditionally like.

Hearth (2005)- In Bottle: I'm not sure which Hearth this is, but I guess I'm about to find out. --Oh, this must be the 2005, not that I'm sad about that. :-) I can smell the buttery richness, though there is the merest hint of woodsmoke too. Wet: Butter and sugar though not thoroughly like caramel, as I might expect of butter and sugar. The cedar note is there, and I'm sure I smell pine, too! This is yummy and lovely! Dry: The pine really starts to come out on this one, in a good way! There is a light sweet caramel to this--maybe more like brown sugar, and it's delicious. I'm so happy this one didn't go musty! Overall: I really like!
-
Sugar Skull 2005- In Bottle: Mmm, deliciously brown sugar-y. Wet: Smells strongly of sweetness; very rich and yummy! Dry: Oh, how wonderful--I've had this on for almost two hours and there's no mustiness to it at all. Not quite as bakery-rich as Sugar Cookie 2004 (which I adore); this will be great as a lighter scent. Overall: I really like!

Bliss- A shot of pure, self-indulgent euphoria! A scent that is very, very wicked in its own way: the serotonin-slathered scent of pure milk chocolate. In Bottle: A delicious chocolate. I'm already worried this one is going to go musty on me like so many delicious food scents tend to do, bah. Wet: Chocolate and a hint of something nutmeggy and vanilla-like, too. (Of course, you can't have milk chocolate without vanilla, so...) Dry: A teeny, tiny bit of must. Just enough to keep me from loving this scent to pieces. I may wear it again, though! Certainly I'll try it as a scent locket. Overall: Conditionally like.

Juliet- Sweet pea with stargazer lily, calla lily, heliotrope, honeysuckle, white musk and a touch of fresh pear. In Bottle: Mmm, a delicious floral--there's a note in there I wish I could name because it's one I really love. I smelled it permeating a theatre building in Hong Kong and always wondered what it was. Maybe it's the lily? Wet: A bit of hot ozone-y floral but overall a really pleasing floral blend. Dry: Nice! One of the nicer florals I've found to date in the collection. I can smell the pear but it's a gentler, less ozone-y note than in others that have pear. It's very clean and pleasantly soapy. Overall: Nice.
-
Tushnamatay- In Bottle: Lightly medicinal sweet whiff. Wet: Hmm. Kind of powdery-sweet nondescript. Not sure if I like, though it's not noxious. Dry: Almost gone in a few minutes and remains nondescript. A tiny incense-y lemony note was all I got from it. Overall: Unremarkable.
-
Frumious Bandersnatch- In Bottle: A sweet fruit smell. Grape bubblegum? Wet: Ooh, yum, grape-plum-cinnamon. Fruity and delicious! Dry: Oh, what a pity, it fades so quickly. Well, I like it--I'll try it in larger quantity and see. Overall: I like a lot but it fades quickly.
-
Lady Macbeth- In Bottle: Grape! Grape and sweet as Manischewitz wine, woo. Wet: Still grape, and maybe a little plummy. Powdery lightness, too. Dry: I can't escape it--this is grape bubblegum, and I don't mind that a bit. It's a playful scent, and I'll remember this one when I want to feel like a schoolgirl. Overall: A sweet fun scent.
-
Nyarlathotep- In Bottle: Sharp aquatic ozone. Wet: Reminds me of Pool of Tears right away, with that sharp aquatic tone. Something a little flowery is trying to come out. Dry: Oh, this is rather a nice dry-down. Something spicy--that must be the incense. The citrus isn't overpowering, but just a touch. Overall: I like!
-
Wolfsbane- In Bottle: Powdery, soft, very lightly floral. Wet: Wood and herbs, a touch of rose. Very herbal, a bit sweet. Dry: The sweet herbal scent of this is another of those that just isn't interesting to me, though it is very pleasant in its own right. Overall: Not for me.
-
Red Lantern- In Bottle: Oh, is that delicious--candy and spice and caramel and, mmm! Wet: Much more floral than it was in the bottle. I think that's the amber. Dry: Omigosh, the dry-down on this one is delicious--rich and sweet-spicy and there's the tiniest hint of caramel. It's a throughly sexy, relaxing, keep-sniffing-myself scent after about half-an-hour's wear. Overall: I really like.

Tiger Lily- In Bottle: A very lovely honey-floral scent. Wet: The honey isn't evident; the floral completely overwhelms it. But it holds lots of promise; let's see how the dry-down goes! Dry: I don't think the honey ever returned, which is too bad. But this dries to a perfectly lovely floral, not too hot or ozone-y. I am not that into florals, myself, but that is certainly not this scent's fault, nor is it a problem with my chemistry. Overall: A pretty scent but not one I'm really drawn to.
-
Pumpkin Patch #5- In Bottle: Kind of foody-spicy. I don't really get the pumpkin on this. Wet: Very woody and with a touch of cedar. Again, I'm not sensing the pumpkin really, but it's very nice. Some evergreen too, I think. Dry: How appropriate that this is the last of the Pumpkin Patch collection. This is the patch at the end of the season, winter biting at the edges. Pine and resin. Overall: I really like.
