blends that have red musk or patchouli (really anything 'heady' or heavy) stay on me FOREVER. jasmine really likes my skin too. but i don't mind that.

when i saw this i immediately thought of The Lion.

the first ever bottle i bought was a qliphoth, and i hear that a lot are not as 'sinister' as most sound. i looked at the reviews, and it is one of the most comforting scents i've tried. now if you look at my sig you can see i'm talking about GAMALIEL The Obscene Ones. Idleness and unconscious, uncontrolled, perverse sexual desire. Governed by Lilith Nocturna, the Onokentauros, Mother of Demons, First Wife of Adam. this blend is actually i hear, similar to Dorian, which i am eager to get in my mailbox it's musky, lemony, a touch of vanilla i think. such an odd scent i would think for this qliphoth, but it's beautiful. i had spilled some on a bit of wood in my room and it scented the whole room and sometimes the hallway. such a comforting thing to walk into. it's really a big investment to get a 10ml (yes i think they still only come in 10mls) and not know WHAT is in it (labbies, it'd be nice to know!) other than what people can pick out on the forums. that is not always great because everything acts and smells different on people. but i looked thru all the ones and found that the description alone made me want to buy it. looked at the reviews, saw it wasn't a HEAVY scent (at the time i was concerned about that) and bought it. it's in my top ten! but basically read what strikes you as something -you- would like on the site, then check the reviews in the review forum. good luck.

Okay, I REALLY love Melisande, but I wear a lot of it and sometimes my mom's asthma acts up. I want something like that but maybe a little more subtle? I've already got an imp of Salomé in an order. LEs are okay. But I'm wanting something with a top note of jasmine, mostly. A lot of people have rec'd Peitho, but of course I forgot to get an imp of that in my last order. Durrr. I like kind of heady stuff, but not too heady, as I have respiratory probs. Thanks if there's a topic like this before, pls merge or point me to it, it's hard for me to search thru all the pages mentioning jasmine lol.

kuang shi is a little strong at first but it does dry down as honey said. it has a very nice dry down. now my favorite citrus blend is tamora, but it contains vanilla bean. >_____< i'd still try it though.....the stuff mixes very well. omg omg, i forgot to mention gamaliel. now i didn't mention this before cause you can't get imps i guess, but it is a very nice musky lemon scent. you might want to try dorian first- i haven't tried it but people have been telling me to since i like gamaliel. but it is lovely if you feel like just you know, buying a 10ml without knowing how it works on you.

i also wanna second, magnolias and gardenias look so much alike, do they smell the same or similiar? magnolias are one of my fave flowers. blood countess, i can't remember if i mentioned it, is a more purple gardenia (from the lilac, fruit and musky notes)

I'm going as a Punk Rocker or something....probably going to wear Mme. Moriarty unless I find something else in my imp box that smells more 'punk rockerish'. I kinda just like the scent and it's a 'red' scent and my outfit is red. I hope it doesn't cause the kid I'm taking trick or treating trouble with allergies though.

eek that was a horribly musky dirty scent on me. :/ probably because nothing but the patchouli showed up though. i'd recommend: aeval lurid (must have if you like purple scents!) kuang shi titus andronicus pysche bengal the lady of shallot

imp/skin: y hello thar sandalwood. in the background you can get a bit of the neroli and ylang ylang, but its pretty much all sandalwood. i like it though. won't need a bottle however.

imp: green o_O skin: phew, it's just the violet. violets smell a little green on me. i dunno why..... it's alright...nothing special.

imp: ylang ylang, wtf?! lol skin, pretty much the same.......wait for it to dry........i get the herbs, perhaps the mists, yet to get the woods. i like it this way though. =D

imp: white flowers, ylang ylang skin: omg patchouli. and BLACK patchouli! i thought i couldn't stand black patchouli, but the other scents blend with it really well and i like this scent. it's a SWEET earthy scent. i'm not getting any neroli, however. but the ylang ylang is enough!

imp: honey! skin: patchouli! D: well it's the opium, but i suddenly went 'patchouli!' when i smelled it. big change lol after awhile the opium and whatever else tones down a little and the honeysuckle comes out a little. yay. i would have never ordered this, glad beth gave it to me as a frimp.

i was so surprised reading the description of this after wearing it. it reminds me a lot of the tempest, only not as soapy. very green, and ozoney. i don't get any flowers at all from it. *sigh*

imp: wet gardenia skin: gardenia, ozoney notes. after about five minutes you can smell the ginger. it's a very 'light purple' scent for me. i was sooo hoping i'd like it, because i ADORE lord alfred tennyson, and this poem.

imp: orange honey!! skin: ...orange honey! i can faintly pick out some rose. i'm soo glad i got this as a frimp, as it was on my to-buy list. now i know i can safely buy a bottle of it. <3

imp: soap skin: soap. a good smelling soap though...T_T good thing this was a frimp...a swapping ye shall go.

try a decant of Melisande, if you don't want to buy a whole bottle (it's a CD LE). it is very jasmine on my skin.

bottle: light whiteish florals skin: green! O_O what is this! it is not unpleasant, but i was expecting this to be a purple scent, not a green, grassy one. *hopes it morphs*

this smells purple on me! woooo i love my purple scents. i can smell the tea in it. i'm not really sure what the other notes smell like, so i can't really pick them out. just purple, tea, and sandalwood. very pretty scent. i may have to put more money in my acct and order another bottle before october ends. :x Eunice_Branca said it reminds her of LoEG Mina, but i think it smells like Dracula Mina. I think the other Mina would wear something like Snake Oil
