bottle: violet skin (wet): violet! when it dries it turns to the jasmine, but still stays very pretty. i get just a HINT of vanilla, and it doesn't stick around very long. when it is fully dry i get the jasmine and mimosa. i do wish the violet stuck aroud longer though. :/ i bought this scent just because the picture on the site reminded me SO much of one of the characters in the book (well, it's just a 'story' now) i am writing. and this is something she would wear. she loves flowers but this is more 'sexy' and well, she's a dominatrix. :x i absolutely LOVE this scent. i am buying another bottle for sure. this is a very special scent to me. THANK YOU BETH.

bottle: OHHH, SEXY. wrist: sexy. VANILLA YAY. i was dreading not getting any cause of my snake oil experience. lil bit later. deff some patchouli in there but it doesn't make me puke!!!! i dunno wtf i'm smelling but it is SEXY and i really like it. i'm glad i didn't get a decant and went ahead w/ a full bottle. this proves it. beth is sexy. and i loove the tarot card she gave me- the five of swords. it has a guy smoking a bong on it i think? LOL -
check out somnium's line i haven't tried it myself (i should, i have awful sleep habits) my friend has used baku (eats nightmares) and likes it. i think she used nanshe too so i could be getting them mixed up...but they seemed to help her. i'd just try somnus, it says it gives you a deep restful natural sleep.

imp: musk and sandalwood skin: musk, sandalwood, with a bit of orange popping up. the orange gets stronger as it dries. morphs into a spicy orange as the musk and sandalwood settle down. it's a very pretty scent, but i'm not too much of an orange fan. i was hoping to get some mango! :/ editing cause i'm amazed that this stuff is still really strong on me an hour or so later. and it's turned to a sweet mango, hurrah!!!!1

Help Identifying Notes, What Certain Notes Smell Like

vanilla also has a bad effect on some people. some vanilla scents turn powder on me -
... Their scent is the crisp, inviting bittersweet tang of cranberry with smoky dark lilies, heady, sensual musk, a tingle of ginger and a brush of Mediterranean spices. imp: fruit and heady incense skin: wtf, i smell like wood! few minutes later: cranberries! the musk or whatever is still there, but not as much. much later this scent pretty much just goes cranberry on me and nothing else. maybe some lily. i'm not sure. but it loses the musk.

mm, Tamora is lovely. I however have to wait to get the peach in it. It's all purple at first. -
imp: PURPLE!!!! skin: purple, vanilla. i guess this scent is mega heliotrope for me. the sandalwood is barely there, but it's mostly heliotrope and vanilla. very pretty. ETA: after seeing the reviews, it's sad i didn't get any peach. i love peach. now i am getting peach. wtf bpal! it's pretty though.

imp: WHOAH SWEET FLOWERS skin, wet, aquatic flowers, which fits ophelia very well. i think i am smelling the lily and lotus the most. but this is a very pretty, feminine perfume. i'm not sure if i'd get a bottle of it as i'm not really into the whole floral scene much, but it's lovely.

i sent her an imp of it with some others for her bday, she likes it. i wish i could wear it, it sounds so pretty and the name is special to me. it seemed like a lovely oil to wear, if i could handle the patchouli. damn you respiratory problems! -

bottle: liquid plumeria! i love plumeria. skin: ...less liquid plumeria! few minutes later the orange comes out, very pretty (my skin and nose love orange)! if you REALLY smell it, you get the copal. it's bottle worthy, but when i have more money.

BPAL scents appropriate for very young children?
klavierbarrette replied to beetiger's topic in Recommendations
how cute! i would suggest scenting hair (that way they'll look forward to bath time too!), or the hankerchief idea, or maybe even a scent locket for the girls! i might give your girl eve, or some other honey scent. does she have any fruits or florals that she likes? lampades is another pretty one (for fruit), you'd wanna dilute it though. this thread is so cute, all your little babies wanting your perfume. your precious bpal! <3 -

Bpal similar to Hermes Eau de Merveille?
klavierbarrette replied to cclasky's topic in Recommendations
golden and glimmering would definitely be amber to my nose. I would recommend trying The Lion for a pure ambery scent. Also for fruitier amber oils with the some notes you listed for Chanel 19, try Titus Andronicus and Pannychis. I love all three and would recommend them to anyone. -
bottle: dragon's blood and musk on me: dragon's blood, musk, currant, fig. wow i can smell all the ingredients! fig/currant comes out a lot more a few minutes later. musks are still there, and i can tolerate the red musk! there must just be a little bit in there. i honestly can't smell the dragon's blood anymore. odd. it's a very lovely scent, but i'll have to wait to buy it because well...need money lol!

i'm not sure if it's 'aquatic' but dragon's tears is very lovely. i've yet to try many aquatic scents, though i intend to. actually it confuses me what oils are 'aquatic'. o_O

Help Identifying Notes, What Certain Notes Smell Like

and, be sure you try a scent you do not like more than once, and watch, er, smell it. make sure that your first impression doesn't make you hate it because it may end up smelling great once it dries. but yeah, like others have said, look up what's in the scents you don't like and see if they share anything. chances are if they share a note or two, you don't like it. or your skin doesn't at least. -
bottle: florals...maybe some honey or vanilla. skin: lavender, honey, lilac. i can really smell the honey but it's not the 'OH GOD HONEY' in eve or o. a pleasant honey. blends very well with the florals. i initially did not really care for this scent but i am glad i kept it. it's nice.
-
imp: wth, pine? or some other wood? skin: this scent is definitely a fruit, probably the blood orange i am smelling. i don't smell neroli or raspberry, but a very odd fruit. it's not really...displeasing, but it kind of gives me a headache. woah, like 45 mins later, it's raspberry. all raspberry. once i get past the headache, it is a keeper.

Oils to relax, calm, soothe, restore your sanity...
klavierbarrette replied to Shollin's topic in Recommendations
Lavender has a marked physiological (not just psychological) effect as a anti-depressant and relaxant, so yes, it's quite good for anxiety, one of the absolute best. Of course, if you find the smell of lavender repulsive (some people do for some reason,) it's physiological effects would likely be countered by that displeasure, but... If not, a bit of pure lavender on the temples and back of the neck and hands is very soothing. It evaporates so quickly though. Sob. i stole a bottle of lavender pillow mist from my mom and just spray it on my bed or in the air if i'm not going to be laying down. but on the go, twilight was pure lavender on me. i could smell a bit of jasmine at one point, but then it was all lavender. but if you want to try lavender out first, i'd suggest just getting the oil or a mist and trying it. i really love that mist i have, i wear a bipap at night for sleep apnea and i can still smell it. -
