A Demon and Her Unholy Basketball

Sugared red musk! With a bit of time I pick up a little of the gently-spiced pumpkin. This ends up as a pretty perfect balance among the pumpkin sugar and red musk. If I think about it, I can smell a tiny tiny hint of “char” that may be the puff of brimstone, but it is definitely not overpowering. I really love this one, which is a total surprise for me since I don’t usually love red musk blends.

    #2 Pencil

In the bottle I smell tart, pink apples and fresh pencil shavings! On skin it remains the same, and the two notes are surprisingly really nice together. The apple is a bit more prominent than the cedar shavings—it’s crisp and tart and pink. The cedar is not sharp as it can sometimes be—it’s pretty smooth and mellow.

    Étienne De Boray Oak

This is stunning. It smells like a happy memory of a live oak tree—gently honey-veiled and golden around the edges. I grew up and live in live oak country and this gives me a lot of happy feelings. The Spanish moss is very present and is soft, dusty, and gentle, just like the real thing. The oakmoss provides a nice little sharp pop of scent that evokes tree bark. With time the oakmoss becomes most prominent on my skin, with a sweet natural golden sheen of honey.

    Two Frames

Oh good gravy. I 100% agree with doomsday_disco on how awesome this one is. This is such a lovely, happy scent that manages to be calming and gourmand all at once. To my nose it smells like sweet, fluffy lavender with sprinkles! It's a bit similar to Capax Infiniti in feel, but without the ice cream. The lavender settles a bit with wear and the perfect sugar cookie begins to shine through--sprinkles and all. I will treasure this scent! ❤️

    Banana Bread

This opens up with a quick pop of candyish banana, but that immediately settles down and the scent turns into the loveliest, very lightly-spiced banana bread with little chunks of walnut. This is a great comfort scent, and really nice for autumn in my neck of the woods (where it's just about always hot). Foodie, but not overly so.

    Edible Panties Hair Gloss

Basically fruit roll-ups for your naughty bits: wild cherry and sugared up strawberry with hot pink peppercorn. DO NOT ACTUALLY PUT THIS ON YOUR NAUGHTY BITS. Fruity candy! Specifically, fruity gummy candy with maybe a hint of marshmallow? It’s reminding me heavily of a Lilith scent—maybe The Devil Will Work for Idle Hands or Battle Fairy in Training? The fruit note is also similar to what I get in Rajnbow Swirk. This is a fun and lighthearted fruity scent!

    Erotic Vegetables Hair Gloss

White cedar, tomato leaf, clary sage, woodmoss, sweet labdanum, clove husk, and leather. Dark, masculine, woody! I get clove and leather, and a bit of cedar. The cedar is really nice—it’s like the scent of a nice cedar hope chest (as opposed to the dreaded hamster cage scent).

    Ganymede’s Junk

White sandalwood, pink carnation, clove bud, muguet, and vanilla absolute. I love this! I feel like I’m smelling a Lush product—Skinny Dip maybe? I would love this in a bath oil or linen spray! It’s delicately spicy (mild clove bud and carnation), but also creamy from the vanilla and muguet, which is not sharp at all, but gently floral. This is beautiful!

The Monk and His Najimi Hair Gloss

Red tea, saffron, soft brown leather, patchouli, and white ginger blossom. Whooooa this one took me by surprise! It’s so nice! Kinda hard to pin down, but it’s bright and fresh and zingy. I love this and can’t stop sniffing. Ok, it’s like an iced beverage—there’s tea and I think maybe the red part is currant, because something smells like that upscale currant scent that was so popular a few years back. The ginger blossom is a gorgeous addition. I don’t really get any of the leather or patch. Winner winner chicken dinner!

    Mischievous Cat Hair Gloss

White and golden amber, peach juice, green cardamom, vanilla cream, frankincense, yellow sandalwood, golden patchouli, and mandarin. This one is a playful and unusual scent! It’s like peach nectar and green cardamom (definitely green and fresh, not dried) ice cream in a fragrant wooden bowl. There’s lots of peach juice here. I love the cute kitty on the label!!

    Lacquered Vulva Hair Gloss

Mahogany polished with burgundy musk, rosewood, jasmine absolute, and Spanish moss. Gorgeous! Jasmine (it would be purple!), dark moss, dark polished wood, and musk. Fancy, and sexy. I bet a lot of people who typically don’t like jasmine or red musk would love this. I’m in the latter camp, and I think it’s gorgeous.

    Fancy-Free Hair Gloss

White musk, lemon peel, and ambrette seed. I loooove this one!! Lemon candy!! Happy, bright, tart, fresh, with a hint of sugar. I’m excited, because lemon perfume doesn’t work on my skin, but it will be perfect in my hair! 😍😍

    Abalone Vulva

Ooooh I love this. I agree that it smells like iridescent pink mermaid musk. I think the pink musk is grapefruit-based. Sugared, sparkling, mermaid-esque grapefruit musk to my nose. It's clean, sweet, elegant, and mood-lifting.

Why I Love Thee? Hair Gloss

This is beautiful. I get lots of oudh and heady purple florals, tempered by a lavender-scented breeze and a gust of fresh salt air. The oudh is on the indolic side of the spectrum, but the lavender and salt breeze keeps it in check.

    Neko No Koi Hair Gloss

Ooh this is nice. I get mostly sweet, sticky, true-to-life, non-funky honey, and a dusting of dry, fragrant clove. A lovely combination.

    Hotaru No Yu Hair Gloss

This is a beautiful spring floral scent---like a rain-soaked garden. I get lots of fresh lilac and a touch of honeysuckle nectar. I'm going to need a bottle of this one. ❤️

    Alleviate the Frenzy Hair Gloss

I had trouble with this one in perfume oil form (which is totally my fault--i'm pretty sure it's due to hormones)--the amber took over and I was unable to smell anything else. In hair gloss form, however, I can smell the beautiful, glowing, sugared peach. It's really beautiful and now I'm wishing that the perfume oil would perform this way for me!

Wild Cherry Chypre and Smoky Patchouli Hair Gloss

This is a dark and brooding fruity scent. Really lovely. The cherry is dark and lush, made elegant by the chypre, and the patchouli lends some nice, rooty earthiness without overpowering the blend.

Sweet Amber and Cherry Liqueur Hair Gloss

Equal parts elegant, sparkling amber and deliciously tart and syrupy cherry liqueur.

    Maraschino Cherry Buttercream Hair Gloss

As described, this is thick, syrupy maraschino cherries with a hint of fresh tartness (like artisanal maraschino cherries—not like the saccharine mass-produced ones), with a slick of rich buttercream.

Frankincense, Copal and Cacao Home & Linen Spray

Well this is interesting! It’s fresh and zippy, almost gingery, with some smooth, dry cacao warming up the background.

Belgian Chocolate and Scorched Caramel Home & Linen Spray

Huh! I did not expect to like this one—I’m not a fan of caramel because it tends to be so cloying (the candy and the scent), so I would not have selected this for myself. It’s super nice though! It’s not cloying—it’s a surprisingly mature chocolate scent. It sort of smells like the fanciest of s’mores being made at a cozy, roaring campfire. The Belgian chocolate is creamy and luxe, and the scorched note is wonderful.

    Morning Glories Bath Oil

This reminds me of something that I’ve smelled before, but I can’t put my finger on it. It’s beautiful—perfect for spring. It is very green as the review above mentioned, with a kiss of elegance from the amber. The florals are few-soaked in a carpet of lush green. The greenness is not soapy or sharp to my nose—it’s just right and lovely. This is a natural sort of scent, but would also be at home in a fancy perfumery, if that makes sense.

    Ehon Warai Jogo Bath Oil

This is lovely! A beautiful peach scent for spring. It’s definitely white peach—kinda nectarine-ish and not super ripe. The honey and cream are not overwhelming or cloying—they lend a sort of nectar sweetness. At times I get a whiff of something that is almost bubblegummy. Beautiful.

    Chocolate Liquer Bath Oil

Whoa. This was not on my radar at all because I don’t love liqueurs, but I sniffed one of the bottles I picked up for my decant circle and it’s really gorgeous. It smells like high dollar chocolate. It’s smooth but also has that “bite” that fancy cacao often has. It’s mostly rich, dark, and fudgey. I don’t really get a lot of the liqueur, but if I think about it I can smell a thread of syrupy sweetness tying the whole thing together. If you like rich chocolate scents, I highly recommend this one. I imagine it will be like bathing in a vat of the real thing!
