i know you've mentioned it before as something that might be happening (or maybe i've gone insane and made that up), but maybe scent families (small description of what they are, and examples of perfumes that are in each).. (and if you didn't see the bpal tshirt thread over in bpal chatter, you should take a look )

they just sent out apr 1-7 a few days ago, it could be playing in customs still.

maybe it's a setting, i don't think i've ever gotten an email saying they ~accepted~ the payment, just that it was sent. if that's not the same thing, i'm confoozled! but that's the only thing i've ever gotten. that MIGHT be a non-us thing? //edited to add: i'm pretty new about using paypal from a non techy side, i've had an account for years because stooo only takes money for the mp3s with paypal, but matt and i set up the shopping cart to be like beth's is for ccnow, so like, all that stuff was automagical. and the only people besides stooo and ebay (which also automagically does eveyrthing) that i've sent money to are the four that i mentioned...

i got an email reciept from my 4/12 order pretty much immediately after placing it.. it randomly doesn't have email addresses in the subject line when i send payments (the money i sent s.violet didn't, the money i sent beth didn't, the money i sent two of my friends - both donations to websites i use often - did)...

it hasn't been there since the search engine came around... i daresay it was discontinued with hellfire... uhm, and if it was there (which it's not), i would have checked it as being discontinued, which means it wouldn't be showing up in the search

tempest and zephyr and oberon were also kinda clean

the little upright bottles in the lower left of the pile of perfume are 5 mls, the taller upright bottle is a 10, the clear round one is 1/8oz (~4ml), and the rest are imps... the new 5ml bottles are a little taller and skinnier than the old ones... next time i'm at my parents', i'll take a picture of those 5mls (my mom's) with a newer 5ml... (which is wickedly outdated, that's from christmas)

i can't say anything that hasn't been said, but i loooooove this. the incense and the tonka bean are the primary smells on me, but the clove and violet are definitely there, occasionally slipping out of the background to caress your nose. lovelovelove.

my sister's almost 16... she's got a few - carnal, snake oil, old glasgow, the imp of juliet i discovered she 'borrowed', and endymion. (snake oil on her is a really innocent vanilla, not at all seductive).. and she's getting a small bottle of harlot (which again, smells pretty innocent on her). there's definitely ones that are appropriate for her age - look in illyria and and venerable cities and mad tea party, for starters (juliet, ophelia, alice, maybe some of the others).

don't worry about it beth, i kinda figured that was the timeline when i ordered (which is why i gave you my parents' addy for the shipping address)... and before my mom ordered, i made sure she knew (and if it matters, the carnal & one of the harlots in her order is for my sister, and the hecate is for me)

~all~ i've done right now is the search engine and making layouts for stuff i think would add to the functionality and ease of use for both beth & co AND the customers (but haven't coded) and don't know if beth even wants ...but on the geekier side, i've been having a blast learning about lib_curl (which is the only way i know of how to transparently transmit more than one item order with "one click" for paypal/ccnow/other payment systems that have one-click-add-to-cart-and-pay-later and let the customer pick how to pay at the end of the journey.

for the most part, beth does her own website updates, though i wrote/host/update the search engine & have been thinking about seeing if she'd be willing to have me make the rest of the site dynamically driven (so she updates the site & the search engine is updated automagically) and update the checkout procedure so she could change payment & shipping methods at will without having to redo a whole bunch of stuff... (right now, if she changes payment methods, she will have to edit OVER 1000 LINKS - 390 10ml, 370 5mls, 390-some view/update carts) ...and since the database was designed with the idea that this could happen, it honestly wouldn't take that much time coding wise [shouldn't be more than 5 minutes for the site to be dynamic and maybe 10-15 hours to change the shipping method - due to the each-order-is-submitted-as-one-browser-window, so i'd have to use curl, and i've not done that, so i need to code leeway for that - and probably 20 hours to make an easy admin setup so she could update almost everything (template, menu, sections, bottle sizes, prices, etc) on her own], other than me going through and double checking all of the id#s against what's currently listed. and it wouldn't be too hard to add in extra features (user logins, order tracking/history) ....

actually, if that block is just a function, as well as the subforums, on the template, it could be as easy as if ($_get['showforum']==3]{list_topics(); list_forums();}else{list_forums();list_topics();} ...which reminds me, i need to sit down and look at the font code again... i started it, but got distracted...

could be done to just be done with id=3, but it'd be painful. very painful.

it took my mom about a month to finish off an imp, so i anticipate it taking her about 5 months to finish off a 5ml bottle.

1 ml = 1/30 oz so 5ml = 1/6 oz and 10ml = 1/3 oz.

you can buy boxes about the size of the ones currently used for 25-50c/ea (depending on quantity purchased and the exact dimensions). switching away from usps means that shipping overseas is going to be HIDEOUSLY expensive. and i'm talking, about $40 for a package less than 1 lb to ship to ireland (mind you, it's $5-14 with usps).

you and everyone else! if they re-release samhain this spring, it's gonna be gone sooo quickly...
