I didn't think I'd like this as I'm not into "dark" scents but oh god this is awesome. Dark dry cocoa and very dirty patchouli slightly sweetened by the sarsaparilla. Much love to my fairy!

Crib Girls (Seven honeys under one unkempt roof, with fiery-tart cubeb and dusty cardamom) is one of my favorite honey blends.
-
Soft generic florals. I was really hoping for the dandelion to stand out because I love it, but nope, not here. It's very pretty though and I'll probably wear it when I'm trying to feel my girliest.

Two of my favorites are Tokyo Stomp: A sweet and crisp vanilla mint! and Snowblind: The perfect vanilla mint.

It starts out pink and candyish and then goes to a slightly sweet, warm musky goodness with a strawberry vanilla backdrop. Delish!

Comparing it to the 2005 on my other wrist, 2011 is way more spicy. It lacks the subtle sugary creaminess of 2005. It's not bad, but it reminds me more of the chewy ginger cookies that my grandparents make for Christmas.

Today it's my beloved Snowblind 2004.

Baby powder. Pure baby powder. Curse you evil rose.

Paladin was very masculine to my nose.

Yesterday was Devil's Night '05 and today is probably gonna be Sticky Pillowcase during the day and Trick or Treat '05 when I take my son trick or treating tonight.

While in the bottle it smells sweet and spicy, on me it goes to dusty cinnamon. Not at all what I was expecting.
-
I wanted to love it, but alas, it doesn't love me. Pure baby powder, nothing else. It's the risk I took with the rose but I was hoping everything else would have drowned it out.

Mmm dark fruits and red musk, a winning combination. This is gonna age fantastic, I can tell.

This is for the 2005 version: Initially when wet I get a burst of ice cold mint, but as it dries it becomes slightly sweet with a bit of pine and ozone shot through it. Very chilly feeling and a nice addition to my summer line-up.

In the bottle it's kind of off putting- astringent and metallic. Very blerg. But once on the skin it morphs into something completely surprising. This is one of those scents that takes you on a journey and you kind of have to experience it for yourself. Wet on my hand it turns immediately to a sweet grass note. That hangs around for quite a while when it morphs and this wonderful candy scent pops up. It's like trampled sweet grass, cotton candy, funnel cakes, popcorn, beer and soda. That's the images it evokes when I smell it at this stage. Again it morphs and a subtle hint of smoke gets added to the mix. It seems to somehow just fit here, I can't explain it. It's not off-putting in any way and doesn't feel out of place. It morphs one final time to a wonderful mishmash of all the different stages. Insanely complex and completely comforting at the same time- like strolling down an offshoot of the main midway at your favorite local fair and all the smells just come mingling together. My only regret is ordering only 1 bottle of this.

I wanted to love Whip, I really did. However it's turned into a rose single note with a sharp powdery backdrop. DO.NOT.WANT.

Wow, what a difference from the released version! Spicy red hots with a bit of red fruit. Its actually not unpleasant.

Vanilla kissed strawberries dipped in honey with a light floral background. Delish!

The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil

I don't know how, but this turned into figs and black licorice on me. And surprisingly? I like it! It isn't unpleasant and not overly sweet- just enough to make you want to keep sniffing you wrist (and I do keep sniffing it!). -
I was a little worried going into this because leather is so hit or miss with me. But what I'm getting from it is rather nice. In the bottle and wet on the skin I get a hint of smoky leather, woods and a clean, almost soapy, metallic clang- which is great because the grand majority of metallic notes suck on me. Dry and the soapy metallic notes fade significantly- they're still there but I have to really huff my hand to really smell it. What I'm left with is a smokey well worn leather and woods. Not sure if it's for me, I'll have to see if I can try and get Mr. Klown to wear it. I have a feeling it may smell delicious on him!

In the bottle: A creamy beeswax Wet: Beeswax with a light floral Dry down: The beeswax gives way to honey and florals Dry: Some sort of woods, I want to say oak maybe? The florals mingle too much for me to pick any single one out. The honey/beeswax note stays wafting in the background, giving this the right touch of sweetness. I definitely prefer this to the released version.

Creamy white chocolate and strawberry jam. This is so good!

In the bottle: Dirt, the damp kind from a freshly turned garden Wet: Dirt Dry down: The dirt takes a backseat and out pops these amazing dusty florals. You can literally smell the dust on the petals, but it's not a bad smell at all. Interestingly its almost comforting in a way. Can't quite explain it. Dry: Pretty much the same as the dry down, with the dirt and florals switching back and forth in strength. I was surprised by this one because dirt is just not my thing. But being my birth month I decided to give it a shot. Glad I did! It reminds me of working out in my grandparents garden in spring after a quick shower and adding some of their dead flowers to the compost heap that gets buried in the corner.

In the imp: Orange and rum. Wet: An orange creme pop. Drydown: A rum soaked orange creme pop. Dry: The rum fades into the background and it becomes a delicious fizzy creme pop. This will be so good in the dead of summer. EDIT: 16 hours and a bath (with Pumpkin Pie BO no less) later and I'm still getting hints of an orange creme popsicle on the back of my hand. Incredible staying power!
