    Lick It Again

In bottle: Exactly what it says it is - a sweet candy cane. On me: Strong mint with a touch of sugar. Great room scent.

    Knecht Ruprecht

In bottle: Apple cider and almonds. On me: Apple-ish evergreens, which is an interesting combination. The almond has gone into hiding, but I'm also somehow getting a touch of citrus. Very wintery and Christmas smelling. Somewhat masculine. Throw is more subtle than I would have expected.

    Jólasveinar

In bottle: Very cold scent. Strongly herbal. On me: Still pretty herbal, but not as cold. I'm getting some of the florals coming through, but the overall feel is still mostly herbal. I think I'm getting the pastries underneath, but it's hard to tell.

    The Winter of Our Discontent

In bottle: Smoky spices in myrrh with just a *touch* of citrus. On me: Interesting! *Very* musky. It's still smoky spices in myrrh, and I'm getting a touch more of the citrus now. Clove is the predominant spice.

    Halôa

In bottle: Grapes with a cake background, and just a touch of myrrh. On me: Almost all myrrh and frankincense, with just a touch of cake. Not foody, really, and the grapes are gone.

    Thirteen (13): October 2006

In bottle: Mostly chocolate and orange. Bit of something boozy in the background (bourbon)?, as well as some sandalwood. Bit of spicy from the nutmeg. No florals yet. On me: The chocolate has completely departed. What I'm left with is something that's surprisingly like a men's cologne. It's lightly fruity, lightly floral, and a touch spicy. Bit of vanilla warming it in the background, but it's fairly subdued. Not getting much sandalwood, and the orange has run away too. This is really pretty.

    Yule

In bottle: Mostly verbena with a touch of evergreen. On me: Eww! Citrus death!

    Morella

In bottle: Floral paint thinner...I hope it's better on my skin... On me: Fairly indistinct florals that aren't impressing me overly much. Touch of an herbal feel from the sage, but not really getting the civet at all. Kind of has a baby powder quality to it.

    The Sun

Amber, myrrh, and vetiver. Sweet but sharp...

    The High Priestess

Leather and light florals. Moderately bright, fairly warm, limited throw. I think I also get a touch of mint in the background.

    The Magician

Herbal, with heavy spearmint. I also get a bit of either musk or ambergris. Maybe some amber as a base?

    The Fool

Very sharp and minty, with possibly a touch of eucalyptus. This is a *very* strong mint, like "singe your nasal cavity" mint. I get a touch of floral behind the mint, but it's pretty subdued. Also maybe a touch of leather? Overall, this is too sharp for me.

    The Empress

Sharp lavender with possibly some vetiver behind it. I think I get a whiff of my nemesis neroli, too. There's also something that reminds me of a trip to the salon - a chemically kind of scent like hair dye or perm or something.

    Chaos Theory III: Strange Attractors

CT3: MCLXVIII On me: Very lemony, with a bit of floral underneath. It's a bright, fresh lemon, but still not for me. CT3: MCLXXXVII On me: Lightly citrus, with some florals and spices behind it. I'm also getting a bit of mint that is giving this scent a crisp tone. Overall effect is "toothpaste."

    Inferno

Almost pure cinnamon, which is okay, because I like cinnamon. I was worried about the neroli, which is usually one of my evil notes, but it's hidden here. Not getting the almond at all either.

    Hymn to Proserpine

Lightly fruity amber. Very pretty, very rich.

The High Priest Not To Be Described

Light pepper on a musky chamomile. I'm not getting the cypress or leather here at all, really, and the incense is subdued as well. It's pretty and has a "bath" feel to it.

    Hetairae

This has a lot of my favorite notes, so I have high hopes for it. Ooh! Yummy! It's such an interesting combination of notes, and my nose doesn't know where to start first. Honey is amping on me as always, and the ylang ylang and patchouli make an interesting combination of smoky floral. The fig is subtle but present and is spiced up considerably by the clove. Definitely GC love!

    Hellfire

Strong musk over incense with a very animalistic/raw feel to it. Somehow this is sticky and sweet and evil. Smoky. I almost get some cherry here, too. Maybe it's a cherry pipe tobacco?

    The Hamptons

Fruity alcohol. Yup, it smells like a Cosmo. Smelling like alcohol is not my thing though, so this is headed for the swap pile.

    Dove's Heart

Strong, sharp florals. A lot of the Voodoo blends end up as some variation on Pledge on me, and this one is heading in that direction. I think there's some vetiver in here. It's not as overwhelmingly Pledge-y as some of the others, though, so I think I may give it a second chance later.

    Dee

Definitely masculine. I get a sweetish leather, with some rosewood and tonka. The woods are crisping things up a bit. Something I think I would like on my girlfriend.

    Mouse's Long and Sad Tale

Soft and pretty! I predominantly get the vanilla and the amber, but there is a touch of floral from the sweet pea. The sandalwood is subtle, but is providing a unifying base.

    Midnight

Heavy florals that smell a bit dusty, which I think is the nicotiana. I don't know the individual scents of the different notes well enough to say "oh, that's that!", but this is definitely a dark floral blend - blues and purples. The dusty note is kind of turning me off though. I'll give it another chance before making my final decision.

    Manhattan

Barely there. I get a light tea scent with a bit of amber, and everything else is simply not there. It's so faded...
