Oh, now I love this! This is very "clean" smelling. Definitely a musk, but it's a clean musk that makes me think of things like spring and crisp freshly laundered white linens. Mmmm...
-
So this is pure civet. It has a musky quality, but it's not as overwhelming as I thought it would be. It's subtle rather than in your face. Definitely an "animal" feel.

A pretty, rather soapy floral. It reminds me of something from India. Not what I expected this to smell like at all - not really getting any apple qualities.
-
A soft white floral. Pretty, but not overly distinctive.

Are there plans for a BPAL gift registry?

I didn't know about this site - thanks for the heads up! -
Interesting. This is Christmas incense. Smells sort of like when you were a kid and put the cloves in the fruits. I like it very much.
-
A white floral with some ginger. It's okay.
-
My skin completely ate this, but what I do get is definitely a cooking herb. Smells like anise mixed with mint. Not me, at all.
-
The chemical rose, only not as chemically, with a bit of something darker underneath it. This is fairly subtle on me, but it's going to soap.
-
The citrus notes are staying blessedly silent. I'm getting a mild tobacco with a soft amber. Touch of the vetiver, but it's not overpowering here. My main complaint with this one is that it's too subtle. Ten minutes after putting it on, I can barely smell it.

This is a citrus version of a head shop or incense store. The overall effect is slightly-citrus patchouli. There's a bit of a boozy quality behind it, and I think I'm getting myrrh as a base. A lot of these notes I have no idea what they smell like, so it's hard to comment on them. This is a very complex scent, though, with different notes jumping in and out. I think it's a bit too citrus for me, however.

Interesting! The mint is what hits me first, but it's sitting right on top of some cherry-flavored teas. This isn't an "in your face" mint - it's more subtle. This kind of reminds me of a quiet men's aftershave. There's something deeper underneath that I'm guessing is the ho wood. I think I would like this one on my girlfriend.

Peppery lilies that tickle my nose. Very "white." Touch of ginger spicing things up. It feels slightly aquatic. Not for me.
-
Strangely foody. I get almost a hazelnut and caramel smell here. Moderately musky. Getting a touch of florals in the background, but this scent isn't what I expected at all!
-
Very soapy. A good soap, but it's barely there. Sort of tea-like, with some florals. It's pretty but very, very faint.
-
Mint, herbal, and medicinal liquid antibiotic. Yuck. 1/5.
-
On me: Mostly sweet rum, with a touch of sharpish tobacco and coconut. It's sort of a foody Bluebeard.
-
On me: Strong white florals toned down slightly by sandalwood. The lilies are over the ylang ylang. Not sure this is for me, but I'll give it another try before making a final decision.

On me: What the heck is life everlasting? A BPAL scent that will make me live forever? I'm getting floral tobacco with a touch of leather. Bit "juicy" from the currant. Pretty good - it's a more girly De Sade.

The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed With the Sun

On me: This is really, really strange. I don't know what some of these notes smell like on their own, but my overall impression is "Sweet Pea Almond Cereal." There's definitely *something* nutty in here, and other than the sweet pea I don't get any of the florals. Little bit of sandalwood. A very strange scent. If the sweet pea were more dominant, I think I might like this, but as it is the "cereal" quality is a turn off. -
On me: Ooh, I think this could be the new Schwarzer Mond! You're gonna have to love patchouli to love this, because it is *strongly* patchouli, and fairly musky. The amber is rounding out the patchouli a bit, and I'm getting a touch of sweet-sour from the pomegranate. A lovely scent, very rich. Not as much throw as I would expect from something with patchouli, but that's a good thing - it says "I'm here" without being completely in your face.
-
On me: A green floral. Lots of grass and leaves here. The feel I get is "spring meadow early in the morning tromping through the flowers." Verbena is trying to be mean here, and I wish it would stop. The roses here are definitely more the Rose Red/Peacock Queen roses rather than the ones that are chemical death on me. I'm not sure on this one.
-
On me: Almost all iris and gardenia. A white scent with a touch of green feel. Not getting much amber. Frankincense is sharpening it a bit, but not really being "spicy" at all.
-
On me: Ooh, pretty! Honeyed apples. Touch of wildness that I'm pretty sure is thyme, and swimming lightly in sandalwood. Not really getting the fig other than a kind of "juicy" feel in the background.
-
On me: Peach in some weird florals. I normally love peach, but this is not playing particularly well with others, particularly the lavender. There's something in here that's just...strange.
