The vetiver makes the fig bitter while wet. So it's fig and vetiver most of the time while wet. Drydown...the fig sweetens up with hints of tea. And then poof...it dries down to the most luscious and soft figgy myrrh scent. I love this and will enjoy this wholeheartedly.

Female Nude, Three-Quarter Length, Beside Her Left an Apple Tree
Dark Alice replied to AnArtfuldodger's topic in Lupercalia
Wet..apple blossom and gorgeous fabulous mahogany. Dry...it morphs between appleblossom and apple. Green apple. Final drydown...soft wood with soft green apple. Not sour or tart...just fresh and green. I am going to keep it as I do enjoy the wood notes and with a little aging I think the blossom note will stop screaming at me! -
Darn it if this didn't calm me down. The vanilla is light and airy....not too strong but not too weak either and the chamomile comes through and is a big astrigent at first....then it gets a bit warmer and gently settles down. I sprayed this while I was studying and fell in love. I think I will use this to calm people down when the tension builds.

Oh my gosh this is horrible on me! There are reasons why I stay away from brown musks...and now I remember. I smell like a funky dog! The red musk, and black musk, and chocolate peppermint in this are gorgeous. (don't get me wrong) But then the brown musk or whatever is warm and musky is just turning this funky. Poop funky...red musk, peppermint and then Bam! Funky poopish musk on me. *sigh* So glad I got a decant of this one...but so sad that the fuzzy, brown musk ruins it for me.

I have reviewed this before...I will do this again properly as I can now slather to my hearts content. This is my beloved Earth Phoenix, with hints of creamy vanilla, dirt, fruit, myrrh, and light incense. This blend is really gorgeous and I am so glad that I now have a bottle of my very own.

Screeching florals that dry down into screeching headache inducing floral soap. Not for me. At. All.

Seriously...this smells like the Ifrit minus the lovely powderiness I get from it. The ifrit without the powder. Way Weird.

Wet: Single note Rhubarb. Dry: Rhubarb pie. I smell delicious but I don't need a bottle of this one thankfully.

Red Musk (light) Ozone (light) Cement-heavy This smells like hot cement. With a splash of rain and red musk. Evocative...but sadly not for me.
-
Fresh citrus and green tea! (I had a delicious tea that tasted like this once) And as usual...my skin eats the orange up and leaves a green tea/violet combination. And then poof...it just disappears. Stupid skin chemistry...it has eaten another potentially gorgeous scent.

This one is a tricky one. I smell the patchouli note from VILF but it turns out that it is vetiver. Wet..that is all I smell. Now that it is drying down the vetiver has softened and now is replaced by lavender. Gratefully there is no nauseating tea rose in this. Fascinating scent but not something I need to own.

The Ice Maiden truly truly read my mind. I wore the Clock Strikes Midnight as well! Not only was it a holiday but it is an awesome scent!!!!

At first this smells like a delicious honey on my skin with fruit...which is quite surprising b/c Honey and I don't get along. Dried down: This becomes a floral, sweetened, honey meade. This just makes me ill to my stomach and gives me a headache. I like to drink the stuff not smell like it. Total swapper. Not a fan of this one. *sigh*

Which one embodies Christmas/Yule the most? Whoop Best foody scent from this year's Yules? Sugar Plum Fairy. It is a sweet, fruity, candy scent that evokes the image of the fairy from the nutcracker Best snowy/wintery scent? Waltz of the Snowflakes-It is absolutely beautiful Best scent that you'll enjoy wearing in warmer weather? None. I prefer to wear them during the fall/yule season What's this year's sleeper scent? The Arabian Dance. People will be clamoring for this soon. And do you have an overall favorite yet? The Arabian Dance and The Clock Strikes Midnight.

This started out beautifully...fresh bright red currant and french vanilla. Then something went horribly horribly wrong! Cat Pee! Cat Pee coated pencil shavings. Yeah...it was a sad day in D-ville as I wanted to love this scent...I really did!

On me...this just stinks. Stale gingerbread and anise. This actually made me nauseous and I had to wash it off immediately. Rarely does this happen to me...but alas every now and then...it does. *sigh*

This is such an evocative scent. Soft grey Moss, wind, with just a hint of something earthy. I can actually see the windswept mosses in my mind as I sniff this. The only problem is that this is just way too light on me. But it is nice.

Lemony Pipe Smoke. That's all I get out this one which is sad as I was excited about it. Pass.

I need two bottles of this. This is just the most gorgeous blue musk, frankincense, currant scent. It truly is evocative and like I said...I need two bottles of this. It's just that damn good. Soft and dreamy, extremely evocative. I love it.

Hoppy beer...not nauseatingly so like Roadhouse...this is sweeter and actually smells like Beerbread with sweet fruits. Very plesant. I am kind of surprised. And I like this.

Wormwood is one of those notes that just ruin everything. Cause that's all I smell. Wormwood with the strong patchouli. There is no orris root or chamomile or myrrh. Just wormwood. This is turning to RAID on me alas and it must be washed off.

At first this was SHERRY!!!!! And it was a bit too strong. Then it dried down to this delicious sherry woodfiery scent. It's just gorgeous and perfect for the holiday. I think I will wear this tomorrow. Don't know if I need a bottle or not though....?

Oh my goodness! Seriously....we need to have a full blown discussion about this blend...not a review. This is the perfect blend of leather, tobacco, coffee, and Spice. There is no hazelnut. Just yumminess. The leather is well balanced with the tobacco. It is lovely. This leather reminds me of the leather from Hunter...just lighter. The coffee is not so heavy that it makes you sick. It's just right. Perfect even. Seriously I could drink this minus the leather. I need another bottle. It's just that good. I need another bottle just for back up purposes.

Fresh..light green pineish scent. Where is my fig? Where is my frankincense? I think the bottle is hiding the scent from me! I am going to hold this and age it and see what happens.

This is gorgeous! Vanilla, tea, carnation all create this fruity, wonderful delicious cloud of scent. I can't describe how good this is. I just love it.
