When I first applied The Lovers, it reminded me of Magdalene (a scent I didn't really care for). Is that mimosa I smell? There is something that smells very cleansing in this blend, a citrus or something herbal. When it dries, it smells more and more like Alice, but maybe with a touch of ginger. I'm not sure how much I like this. It isn't sugary enough for me. I'd recommend this to someone who liked Maiden, but wanted something with a stronger tea-like scent.

Report that biznatch! Report it to be merged before someone else sees it, maybe you'll be okay.

No? http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=3846 ETA: I've discovered that Spooky lasts a wonderfully long time on me. I never expected it to, but it sticks around for days. There is also this thread about Snake Oil: http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=4453

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?
tart replied to Absinthe's topic in Recommendations
If you like Chaste Moon, you will probably like Dana O'shee. I LOVE THEM BOTH! -
I'm glad the Lab sent this to me. I'm going to force The Boy to wear it. I think this is a scent that every BPAL addict should try.

Aizen-Myoo is a fresh floral scent tempered with tea. I've tried to wear it a couple of times, but I think the scent is a little too "piercing" for me. I think it would make a great room scent because it is fresh and bright.

I didn't really like Chuparosa the first time I tried it. But I'm giving it another go-round, for the sake of reviewing. I smell rose. There is something in the background that smells white, almost soapy -- I can't tell if this is my skin's normal reaction to rose, or if this is another note altogether. There is something green, which may be a very fresh carnation. Chuparosa is nice, but there is something about it that doesn't sit well with me. Maybe it's too fresh, and not sweet enough...?

Green herbs slithering through mint, lime and lavender. Hey, Envy smells like dinner to me! My dad makes a Shirazi salad with onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, and lemon or lime juice. We also eat mint leaves with dinner sometimes, and this combination of lime and herbs in Envy makes me a little hungry! I'm surprised that although this blend has lavender in it, I'm not having a bad reaction to the scent. I actually really like it, and I never wear herbal/green/citrus blends. I don't know that I'll wear this, because it's so different from the types of scents I usually wear. I really like to smell it, though! I might give this to The Boy.

First sniff of Absinthe: Holy sh*t! This is incredibly strong! My eyes bugged out and I coughed a bit because this smelled so strongly of alcohol. On skin, wet: Okay, now I smell like someone who's been drinking too much. I've never actually tried absinthe before. The mint has come out. I think I smell like Bacardi and Listerine. On skin, dry: Hey, this is pretty pleasant! I smell a fresh, yet warm lemon with mint still hanging around. Maybe I smell some anise, and something soapy (clean) as well. If I inhale deeply, I can pick up the cardamom. Verdict: I may keep this for a friend who showed mild interest in BPAL because I mentioned they make an Absinthe scent. I don't know if I'll ever wear this again, but I'm so happy to have finally tried it! Thanks for the gift, BPAL.

I'd been curious to try Kathmandu for a while, but was wary of the cedar. The Lab was so nice to send this to me. If I could separate out all of the woody scents from Kathmandu, and be left with the spices and everything else, I'd like it. But I hate woody scents.

I love Chaste Moon! In the bottle: Smells like butterscotch and sour cream! Still smells very good, though. No, actually, it's more like cheesecake. Wet, on the skin: Smells like babies. Dry: Smells like Dragon's Milk and a million teeny-tiny flowers. This reminds me of Red Moon in a way (I only tried an imp of Red Moon, so Chaste Moon is really my first Lunacy). Later: I can smell some coconut, and a creamy smell that reminds me of Alice and Dana O'shee. It could be Dorian peeking out from underneath, but it still smells good! Verdict: Must...hoard... ETA: Those who liked this may also want to try Has No Hanna, in addition to Dragon's Milk and Dana O'shee.

Here, perhaps these threads can provide some insight: Aging BPAL - http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=11215 different smells/colors, same perfume, what's going on? - http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=3142

I know this isn't about checks, especially but I just looked around the BPAL FAQ area...I came to questions about money orders: http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=7594 Which lead me to specifications about money orders from the Lab's Customer Service Goddess: http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=7001

I'm not a "fresh" scent-wearer at all. I like everything a little sugary. Alice is very nice for springtime, though. Pretty bright candy flowers.

Wilde was pretty good at first sniff... ...but I really, really don't like it. I think it's the lavender -- I hate the smell of lavender! Wilde would be wonderful except for whatever this astringent note is that I'm smelling. It makes me feel kind of nauseous... I would still recommend Wilde as an introductory BPAL scent for a man. It's good. I just hate lavender.

I'll recommend Dana O'shee for a sweet, milky, almond scent. While it doesn't contain cherry, some people associate cherry so strongly with almond that they smell cherry anyway.

This seems to suggest that vanilla scents are good for test taking (alleviates stress) as I suggested in the link that Charmkin posted: http://www.scotfeict.org.uk/modules.php?op...article&sid=381 I think the right scent for you might depend on what you need. For me, I wear Mabon to help me sleep -- I might also choose it to help me study. Mabon doesn't make me feel sleepy or relaxed necessarily, but it helps me to focus and center my energy. That said, if vanilla is a scent used for relaxation, it might help you to relax for a test, but not necessarily to study. You might even want a strong scent if you need a little extra "push" to get things done.

Ooh ooh, try Lampades. I think that was the first "complex" BPAL scent I liked. -

I was actually going to suggest DDLM. I haven't tried Samhain yet...and I haven't yet received Centzon Totochtin, but it sounds like it may be complex. -
Hellfire... Wet: This smells like sour nailpolish. My face looks like this right now: Drying: Why does this remind me of church? Smells like spiced woods. I was thinking to give this to The Boyfriend, hoping it would smell like Incantation. As it dries, it becomes more powdery and less sour. It reminds me of an older man. Older men creep me out. ETA: Okay, maybe this isn't so bad. Maybe Hellfire is mixing with Spooky, but I smell something smooth underneath all the spice. I get a pleasant incensey smell that would blend well with Dragon's Blood (or Dragon's Milk), Snake Oil, O, or maybe even Has No Hanna.

To be updated... Out of the bottle: Don't drink it, don't drink it! This smells like...Malibu Rum? No, it can't be! I smell the rum, chocolate, and mint. I think I'm in trouble. 2:10 pm, freshly applied: I smell coconut. This is like Snow White. 2:15 pm: No more Snow White smell. Spooky, you are soooooooooooooooooooo minty! 2:25 pm: Chocolate, I know you're in there! Goodness gracious, the layering possiblities this scent has! I could go nuts with Bliss and Dana O'shee. The mint is still really strong. It's like chewing on mint sprigs, very real, not at all artificial. The crisp mint over underlying warm chocolate is interesting. This makes me wonder what Helping Hand smells like. 2:50 pm: Okay, shameless reapplication. Wet all over again and a bit stronger this time, this does smell boozy. Still no chocolate when wet, and the coconut never came back. But rummy and minty. I swear, I feel a bit tipsy when I inhale. 5:00pm: Oh-ho! This smells like the dark chocolate smell in Cerberus, when everything else has faded, like a darker version of Bliss. Spooky's drydown also shares the sweet cookie smell of Gingerbread Poppet. This is great! The mint is very, very faint. I'm basically left with a chocolatey cookie.

Bewitched was just herbal to me. Not much berry. I thought it was gender neutral.

Honestly, I think your imp labels might be correct. White Rabbit was lemony to me because of the ginger/tea. Zephyr was definitely powdery. ETA: I shamelessly replied without reading other posts. But I wanted to get my two cents in anyway.
