I'm looking for a BPAL that smells like Donna Karan's Cashmere Mist. It's all my mom will wear - and I'm thinking in an oil form, maybe won't be so overpowering? Here are the notes: Lily of the Valley, Suede Notes, Bergamot, Ylang, Jasmine Maroc, Sandalwood, Orris, Amber, Vanilla, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Musk. Thanks so much!

Cherries and a little spice in the bottle, on it was almonds and cherries at first, then a musty scent. Like old spices - not good on my skin. This is a swapper.

My favorite aquatic so far, I really like the salty/lemon/citrus squeeze smell I get when I first put it on. There's almost a bitter twinge there, like grapefruit. Then it mellows to a "blue" aquatic smell with lily undertones (bellflower?). It seems to disappear a bit fast on my skin, but all aquatics and citrus fruits do that.

Very clean, and quite unisex. A sea-spray sort of smell, but somehow soft. I can't pick out any individual floral notes but the entire scent is a sort of white/light blue scent to me. Disappears far too quickly, but I really like aquatics so I think it's worth reapplying.

Yum. I haven't smelled either Snake Oil or O (I know, what kind of BPAL lover am I?) but I do like this. Sweet and spicy, the myrrh is creamy enough to make this a subtle sexy scent. I like it so far - but I put Salome on the other arm and it's sort of tainting my experience. I'm pretty sure it's a keeper though.

I smell almond in the bottle - overpoweringly so. On my skin, a whiff of almond, then - pickles and bandages. I'm serious - I know some of it is the star jasmine, but what else is causing this scent? I smell no musk. This is the first scent from BPAL I've really disliked. Off to trade!

I was a bit worried when I first sniffed this imp, because berries can be really strong on my skin. I've pretty much avoided them since my teens, but the combination with the heather was intriguing. In the wet stage, blackberry was dominant, but it's not as much of a screaming berry scent as raspberry. When it dried a bit, the combo of heather and blackberry melded well - I couldn't really pick out the individual scents. Glasgow is definitely a nice light daytime scent.

In the bottle, this smelled just like juicy pears and apricots to me - so I was a bit afraid it would be *too* fruity. On my skin, it was like a giant apricot at first, but then a little musk floated through. I put on quite a bit so I could smell it properly, and I really feel like Katharina's a perfect springtime scent. I couldn't smell the orange blossom until much later after a complete drydown - and I do wish it would last a bit longer. Maybe not a bottle contender, but I will definitely use the imp!

Soft and perfume-y; not really my thing. I smell a bit of soft fruits mixed in the florals, but the Mist blends together on my like a department store perfume I had when I was younger. It's pretty, but not really my type of perfume. Worth trying if you want to feel a bit more feminine and don't like a perfume with spice or musk.

General citrus recommendations - and discussion of all things orange
tmcm replied to UltraViolet's topic in Recommendations
I agree with the recommendations of Whitechapel, Namaste and Embalming Fluid. Whitechapel is the most pow in-your-face citrus of the three for me, but I think that Embalming Fluid is an awesome mix of citrus and tea. Mmm. Keep in mind I'm still pretty new to BPAL, so I'm not sure if others are better - but these are three I like! I also saw a bunch of Chaos Theory III's that were citrus based. -
Oh, this is yymmy. In the bottle, it has a very bubblegum fruity scent, hardly any amber or spiciness. When on, even while still wet, it changes into a sophisticated smelling fruit scent. These are really hard to come by (at least for me!) and while amber can be too intense on my skin, this one blends nicely. Definitely a keeper!

This smelled like florals with a tiny bit of spice in the bottle (mostly carnation and jasmine) but when I put it on - I smelled like smoky tea. Not in a good way... I didn't detect the musk, and I kind of felt like I smelled like a floral candle that had been blown out. Not my thing, but it was nice to try.

Oh I so wanted to love you Dorian... but it was not to be. Vanilla hates me, I always end up smelling like pipe tobacco. The tea and musk were not enough to drown out the extreme sweet vanilla scent. I'm still searching for that perfect musk...

In the Bottle Sweet jasmine with a hint of Oriental spice On Me - Wet At first, jasmine and iris but some musk quickly floated to the top. A sweetness I can't place (maybe crystalline musk??). Can't stop sniffing On Me -Dry This fades down to a beautiful soft Oriental musk. It's just so... me! I must buy a bottle of this ASAP!

In the Bottle Lemongrass!! I also smell a bit of the rose and jasmine, but none of the sandalwood or patchouli. On Me - Wet Super lemony. Sharp, more fruity than floral. A tiny bit of spiciness peaking through underneath. On Me - Dry This doesn't last long. The lemongrass fades almost immediately, and I'm left with an incense/sandalwood smell, a bit powdery. I like it (to me, it smells like the tail end of Delight when it's been on a while), and I'll use the imp. I don't think I'll be getting a bottle though.
