    Victoria

I can do very few floral blends but this had only three notes, vanilla being a fave of mine. I also sometimes can do rose, if it's sweet. Seeing rose and vanilla, I thought 'sweet,' so I had to try it. It's a lovely light, pale white rose scent, but that's about all it is. I can't smell vanilla in the least. And it's not sweet. So no-go for me, though rose fans will probably swoon over this.

    Fairy Market

At first, on me, it was an overwhelming floral (overwhelming because I can't do most florals), though pale and fresh. And I thought 'no way'. But on dry-down, a gentle sweetness and fruitiness comes through that makes me wonder if I should buy the bottle!!! Unheard of for me! A few minutes later, it's even fruitier and a tinge spicy, like the scent of lemon sugar cookies floating on the air of a field of flowers. And now it smells floral again. This is one of the MOST changeling scents I've ever tried! No matter its manifestation, it's always a very pale, light scent. My son sniffed me and said, "leaves; it smells like leaves." On one side it's accidentally mixed with a very true strawberry scent and the two wafting together smell I think what I wanted Fairy Market to be...utter heaven.

    Ah'Duno

ooh what's the story of how it came to be? I never head it... I'm holding onto mine too...fer sure. In memoriam of a great evening with lovely people.

    Monster Bait: Tokyo Stomp

Oh boy. I dunno what it is with me. There's something in here that's not vanilla or mint. This is SO not Snowblind, which I'm actually almost happy about because I've spent so much $ and time to get Snowblind, which is still the perfect vanilla mint. I digress.... In the bottle, there's a whiff of yummy mint but also something strong lurking in it that threatens to rear its head and bite my chemistry. And sure enough, on my skin within minutes there is no vanilla or mint. They've become overpowered by (quoting Pru) is it Tonka? I have no idea what it is but TS smells to me dead-on like the primary dry-down scent of Enraged Groundhog Musk or Knave of Hearts. It's a burnt caramel strong musk scent and my skin hates burnt and musk. So this one didn't work on me at all. The alcohol on my hand smells better. However, if you like Knave and EGM, you'll probably like TS, if I don't have psycho skin. I've tried MANY vanillas and mints and it appears there is more than just vanilla and mint in this. I thought maybe I got an accident bottle...so I sniffed the other bottle I ordered (yes, two, I had such high hopes). But they both smell the same.

    The Agony of Longing

Florals don't usually work on me but this one is soft enough that I can wear it! Pale, delicate and slightly sweet rose is what I get. It's like Rose Red but with sugar added. Dry, it reminds me ever so gently of Alice, but much better. Longins is less powdery, less strong and more sweet. It's really lovely.

    Chaste Moon 2005

I don't get butterscotch from this. It's lovely, but I mostly get creamy gardenias, and fairly strongly too, when wet. It reminds me nearly exactly of White Shoulders by another company...except Chaste Moon is much more complex, richer. I also get a lot of 'green' from this, but it is mostly overpowered by gardenias, which I happen to love but can be overwhelming. Dry-down: like sticking my nose in a gardenia bush. Gardenia is a complex, creamy, sweet, strong floral and this scent mimicks it EXACTLY. I am very familiar with Gardenias, so I don't get any vanilla or anything else from this. May as well be Gardenia single note to me, which is gorgeous, if you're a gardenia fan.

    Snowblind

Snowblind is my #1 and I've paid dearly for this obsession! When I wear it, I sniff myself oh so many times! This is partly because the throw is not strong (perfect to wear in an office so you are uplifted but no one complains about your scent) and partly because it has this way of morphing into different scents at different stages. While the throw is not strong, the wear is long, on me. And whenever I re-sniff I think, truly..."the PERFECT vanilla mint." I'm not a mint fan, but the mixture of this gentle mint with vanilla is like heaven, truly heaven. Wet and in bottle, sweet light vanilla and mint. The mint quickly fades into the background on application. Dry: creamy, sweet, milky, fresh, pure, gentle, a whiff of vanilla frosting or baked goods here, a whiff of the palest mint there and, sometimes, it's even a GREEN scent. Yes, fresh green, creamy, sweet and perfect! Truly amazing on me! Please please pretty please bring this back!

    Enraged Groundhog Musk

In the bottle, foody, sweet and spicy, with a faint undernote of something I can't handle...but it doesn't reach out and punch me. Dry...OMG musk musk musk. VERY strong, throw is intense and I must scrub this off. Strong musk does NOT work for me. The most pleasant thing, to me, about this scent is the cardamom, which I suppose could be confused for a faint cinnamon. On my skin, dry, this isn't even faintly foody. It's for musky spice lovers for sure! Edited: this has the burned smell I get from almost every BPAL with sugar or caramel in it. So sad!
  9. To me, The Candy Butcher and the discontinued white choco massage bar are identical twins.

    The Candy Butcher 2006

Bliss was too dark-choco for me. This is much better. The creaminess tones it down. Actually, it's EXACTLY like Lush's discontinued White Chocolate massage oil bar, but even better. LOVE it!

    Cockaigne

I'm a huge foody/sweet fan, but I have to say this is a bit too sweet on my skin. It's like the strongest honey my mom ever put on my ucky peanut butter sandwiches when I was a kid, rather than fresh clover honey in my tea. Too much for me but it IS a morpher.

    The Lady of Shalott

Keep in mind, I'm not a fan of florals. But I must keep some of this on hand. The gardenia is mostly what I smell. It's very very true and clean and obvious but not overwhelming. Fresh, sweet and sad..... Great for gardenia fans!

    Jack

Jack is absolutely wonderful. I liked it more than any of the PP! It's in my top three. It's sweet and foody but refreshing too because of the spices. Also, from time to time, I can REALLY pick out the fresh peach scent. Might smell 'fake' to some because it's so sugary? Someone compared it to Yankee Sampler, but it's all the best things about YS and a compliment to YS too! I ADORE Jack!
  14. To ME, keeping in mind I've had other people say 'no way!' Brides of Dracula: Nosferatu Candy Butcher: Hellcat or Cockaigne if you prefer less chocolate, Bliss or Centzon Totochtin if more Pumpkin patch 3: Jack but Jack is sweeter and creamier But I hear my skin chemistry is wacky

    Pumpkin Patch II (2005, 2006)

Musty, spicy, carob goodness. Yes, to me it's more like carob than cocoa...a little more fresh and gentle than buttery and rich. I wub it!

    Pumpkin Patch I (2005, 2006)

A truly delicious scent but would have to be room scent for me. Too much like potpourri and it doesn't seem to be fading. I smell like a Yankey Sampler candle. Delicious, but environmental.
