An Introduction to the Stash Manager
RemAkimichi commented on ipb's blog entry in Forum Updates and News
I'm really loving this. Already have my entire collection/tried scents up there, and I'll be working on my wishlist later. Just curious: there's currently no option for sharing our lists, right? Will there be one in the future? Thank you for all your hard work, this is awesome! I had such a fansquee when I saw this <3- 50 comments

In bottle: Wet and astringent, with a faint hint of green like ivy soap. On me wet: Heavily astringent, but with a warm undertone, most likely the sandalwood. It keeps it from going to the medical side, and reminds me of herbs and wet leaves. On me dry: CARROTS. When I sniff it directly the scent remains that medical green of ivy and the faint warmth of sandalwood. I get this hint of smoke, or maybe more like the scent of embers in a fire. But in the back of my nose and throat is the scent and taste of sweet wet carrots. Since I like carrots, this is a good thing. It's a very unimposing scent, choosing instead to remain subtle but there. I think it will be a good scent for my botany class <3

I completely forgot the warning that Inferno came with during the weeks that it took to come, and really it's my own fault for not realizing that potent cinnamon plus pretty sensitive skin equals mucho pain. Anyway, I LOVE this scent on my sister, and deciding I wanted to review it on myself, I put on the amount I usually put on for any oil: some on my neck, and some on my wrists. Well, it smelled GREAT for the few second I could wear it, but a whole three seconds later I was rushing for the sink and a towel. Even the back of my hands are red and weltish from washing it off, and my neck and wrists looks like a chemical burn. I also have to wash all the jewlery I was wearing on my neck and wrists now. But hey, even washed off, I still smell good This one's going to be scent-locket-only I guess, or swapped for a kinder cinnamon scent.

Ah, I wanted to like this one as much as his brother, but alas, when I wear it I smell like fruit rotting in the sun. It's sticky, rancid, and fresh in the wrong way on me. Smells fine on my mom though. O.o Go figure. Guess I'll be seperating the twins with the swap box. Sad, I know.

I can see why this impresses, since in the bottle it smelled so enticing, but on me it smells like vegtable oil and sickly sweet vanilla. Too cloying. Swap box time

In the bottle: Something very simular to Hellcat. Warm and sweet On me (wet): Roses, neroli, and cloves. Very sweet, and very lucious. I can see this as something you'd use to entice a lover. On me (dry): Faded roses and a warm wood scent. Very soft, and a bit powdery sadly. Overall: I love it wet, but dry doesn't impress me. Maybe as a scent locket only oil?

In the bottle: Lavander. Lavander, lavander, lavander. On me (wet): More lavender! But oh, oh, there's this beautiful hint of rose, a warm rose that's not cold and floral and headacy. No, this is warm rose and a hint of something sweet like nightblooming jasmine. Oh how I love rose and jasmine together. I keep getting wiffs of something less floral and more foodsy, but it might just be coming from the open box of imps (is that you, Shub?). On me (dry): Lavander and roses. I can only barely sniff out that sweet flower, but it's there like a light touch of a hand. Overall: For sleeping, I don't know if it will do much. I'm a notorious insomniac. I'm on my way to bed now, and while I doubt it will help me get to sleep any faster, at least I'll enjopy it while I'm awake. I certainly like this one better than Baku.

My friend in jr. high stole a hat from her boyfriend that he had sprayed his favorite cologne on. This was like 7 years ago. I remember being in love with that scent, and seeking to find it myself, but I never did, so I was content to steal the hat from her and sniff it dry of that. I don't have the hat anymore (I gave it back) and I don't remember the name of his cologne (or, indeed, HIS name even), but whether or not this actually smells like that scent, it gives me the same feeling. It makes me happy to smell it. I think of summertime and friends and feilds and the college swimming pool that we all went to during the summer. I think of blue and green and grass and the sky. Overall, it's not a remarkable scent. I'd probably be hardpressed to point out the differences between it and another, more commercial perfume besides the lack of overwheming alcohol that those have. And really, it's not something I'll wear myself often. But it's definitely worth having an imp of. Lovely scent.

In the bottle: Pop rocks! The crazy fruit kind! Fizzy and fruity and a bit green. I've never had kumquat that I can remember, but this smells delicious. On me (wet): ruit candy with an earthy bite and a clear note of cold. Not headachy cold, just something that keeps the floral/citrus smell of the orange blossom from pulling down the fruit. Num! On me (dry): Orange blossoms and pepper, I guess. The fruit is still there, but it's not candy anymore, but more like somehing left in the sun until warm. Not rotting, mind. Just warm fruit with a sneeze to it. Overall: An unusual scent, but lovely. I'm still iffy on getting a bottle, but most likely when the imp is gone I'll want more. A delightfully rediculous scent. I'm not quite as taken with his brother yet, but I guess I'll give him a try tommorow...

I had a sniffie of Shub from Christmas that almost broke my heart in the good way. I was in LOVE with the scent, just from the sniffie. And yet, somehow, between then and now, I never managed to get myself an imp because I was afraid it would break my heart in the bad way when I put it on. I could smell that it had the potential to do so. But finally I kicked myself into getting it, because if I was going to order it, now is the best time, since I hear shipping to Hawaii is expensive. So I order it, and finally it comes, and of course I try it first, and... In the bottle: A sharp sting of ginger, and a hint of herbs. Not sweet yet, but edging towards it. On me (wet): GINGERBREAD COOKIES. Right out of the oven, that's all I can smell. It's sweetness and ginger and herbs, but mostly it's cookies, and I want to eat my wrists. Again. On me (dry): The gingerbread cools down, and the herb and lemon smell comes through. It must be one of those recipies that uses lemon peels. The herbs remind me that we're not making Christmas cookies here. It's springtime in march, and while it's still cold outside, there's green on the hills and the cookies are for a picnic in the heather. The tang of citrus gives the ginger a different kind of bite, less vicious and more playful. It intices you to follow it as long as possible before it fades away into the distance. Overall: This demands a bottle. If I were't moving, I'd say immediately.

In the Bottle: Ooh. For some reason, in the bottle it reminds me of mountains. Clean, sweet, a little herby. On me (wet): Wow! Manly, but not in a bad way. I like this, I like it very much. I keep getting this whiff of green apples, though. What IS that?? It's not bad, in fact just the opposite, but man, it's so hard to pin because I only smell it when I'm not concentrating on smelling it. On me (dry): A bit powdery. Still a manly scent, but now it's softer, like nightime and sheets and the wiff of herbs in his hair. No more green apples, sadly. Overall: Love it. I'm not ready to commit to a bottle, but while I have the imp I will be using it regularly.

In the Bottle: COOKIES! I know it's supposed to be coffee, but in the bottle the bitter smell of coffee doesn't play out much and all I smell is the Irish cream On me (wet): Ahh, theres the bitter coffee bean. On me wet it's just as "strong sweet coffee" as it was in the bottle, but it settles down soon. On me (dry): The coffee is still there, but it's faded down to the scent of spilled dried coffee thats been left. I get a wiff of wood and a sharp sting at the back of my nose that I suppose is the dust. It reminds me of the scent of bubble soap when its combined with the dried coffee. Fortunatly it only smells that way close to the skin, and when I just breath in without holding my wrist close I just get a combined sense of coffee and wood. Overall: I LOVED this scent the instant I opened the imp. It brought an immediate smile to my face, despite the fact that I wasn't feeling well, and it did the same to everyone I made sniff it. I'm not so fond o the dust smell at the dry-down phase, but I think I can bypass that with my scent locket. As it is, I MUST get a bottle.

In the Bottle: Peppery! On me (wet): This one is so odd, it starts out very light on me, and a little smoky. It gets stronger as it dries, which is the opposite of almost all the other scents I've tried. It also gets sweeter. On me (dry): Very sweet and slightly medicated. It reminds me cough syrup and burning flowers, with just this faint hint of vanilla. Overall: I've been wanting this scent since last year and was very happy to win a bottle on Ebay. On my scent locket it smells remarkably like gluttony, but the real character comes out on my skin. I think it captures Dr. Seward very well, and I'm very glad I bought it.

In the Bottle: Sweet, slightly alcohol-like flowers. I worried for a moment that this would go powdery on me, since that kind of scent usually does. On me (wet): Light floral with something sweet and smoky. I'm not sure what labdanum or tonka smell like, so I can't really be sure whta's coming out, but it's a smoky smell. On me (dry): This goes to incense on me when it's dry. I'll assume thats the labdanum and tonka together, but it reminds a lot of catholic church incense. Ironic, considering. Overall: This is a beautiful scent with be story to told. It beings on a dusty path lined with white flowers and a white sun, and decends slowly into a warm, dusky darkness. It's a mellow scent, not too much throw or any sting, but it lasts and leaves you feeling good. Grade A

I just bought a decant from someone on the board. In the bottle: Sharp cypress and a hint of cloves. On me (wet): OMG hello Nutmeg! Nutmeg and cloves and TREES! Not smoky, incense kind of trees but "lets walk in the woods!" kind of trees. This is a spicy christmas scent On me (dry): Sweet cloves, that faint spice of nutmeg, and candle smoke. Soft, light, and nothing of a villian in my mind. Overall: Definitely one of the first scents that I can actually pick up almost every note, recognize them, and not have the fainter ones overpowered by a stronger one. Maybe my nose is just getting better, but this lovely layered scent is a GREAT holiday oil. EDIT: Some hours hours later, and I must add that it has turned into a dollar store christmas candle smell now. That makes me so terribly sad
