In imp: fallen leaves trampled in the slush Wet: It's very much like October, but where October is dry and cool, November is cold and wet. There's a murky aquatic note I'm not sure I quite like. Dry: Oooh... it's gotten ambery/resiny which I do like, but it still slushy and wet. And cold. Conclusion: I like where November goes, and I love how evocative it is, but October is still my favorite--I think it's a wet vs dry thing. Also, October lasts foreeeeeever on me and November was gone in about half an hour.

This one I found really hard to describe. It smelled like sugar.. dry, granulated sugar that had been cooked, possibly in a meringue. There is also something fruity in there, but it is also dry-smelling. It smelled to me like sugar and... something orange. And when I say "orange" I mean the color orange and not the fruit orange. So... sweet and dry and orange, and it smelled the same in the imp as it did wet as it did dry on me. Also, I found it very long-lasting! And I find it even more intoxicating when my husband wears it.

In imp: Oooh... piney and cold Wet: Airy and cold and clear! There's a resinous something, piney and deep. I really like this! Dry: Gorgeous and piney, like a whiff of the breeze when you reach the top of a mountain just above the deciduous treeline... Dry, after two hours: It gets subtle but stays piney. It's like the storm has stopped and you're just looking out into the landscape all blanketed in white and everything is cold and still and silent. Conclusion: I really like this! And it stays piney on me, which is fabulous because many pines just stay piney for about a half-hour and then go all ambery resiny.

In imp: Mm. Cool, floral... Wet: What the!?! Coconut!?!?! Dry: Still coconutty... smells just like this coconut body lotion I used to use... Mountain Ocean Skin Trip? Unfortunately, it is also smelling a little suntan lotiony on my weird weird skin. Dry, ages later: It's holding that general coconut body lotion formation and is incredibly long lasting. Conclusion: I like coconut, but whatever it is in there that smells lotiony to me is bugging me. Also, what's with the skin that makes "fresh driven snow" smell like "meanwhile, at the beach?"

Upon sniffing the imp: Fruity! Wet: OMG Juicy Fruit Gum! Right down to that weird powder you find in the wrapper! Dry: More fruity, less gummy. The slightly plasticky odor that fruit scents get on my skin has faded. It smells like a little scented candy, like when you open a tin of those Flavigny fruit pastilles, a little powdery and very subtle and sweet. Conclusion: Yum! I don't think I would wear this all the time, but it is very evocative to me and I do like it.

Upon sniffing the imp: Very green and stemmy, with a little bit of rose in the background. Wet: Stems. Long, cool green stems that you've just snipped the ends off to put them in the vase. Where are you, rose? Dry, after a half hour: Still sharp and a little herby and very stemmy-sappish. I want to think I smell the rose, but I could just be wishful thinking due to wanting to smell it so badly. Dry, after two hours: It's still there! The sharpness has settled and it is still a nice green herby scent. Something deep and earthy has come out too. Still no rose. I think my weird skin chemistry ate the rose. Conclusion: I like this scent best after it's been on for 2+ hours and it is very long-lasting, but I am still a little disappointed that my skin got me a red rose but it eated it.

In bottle: Salty sea air and lime, with a sharp tang of something--the gunpowder, perhaps? Or the blood of their enemies? Wet: A fresh slap of sea air and the lovely lime (no scurvy on this vessel!), the gunpowder really reveals itself and yum! Drydown: The salty wood comes out... and ohhh... I am so loving this. It has a freshness to it, like being outside, but the scent has mass--it's not just airiness and sea spray, there's something in there that anchors it all... and lends itself to nautical imagery... And best of all, not only do I love it but it lasts on me for hours and hours! I put on a little bit yesterday morning, it lasted all day yesterday and I can still smell it just barely today. Arr!!!
