I live with 2 Westies and both are rescues (my first Westie, Abbie: she was a present -- in the form of a 'gift certificate' -- which I redeemed in early 1999). I love Rachel Maddow, The Daily Show, The Nightly Show, and enjoy watching All In with Chris Hayes and The Last Word with Laurence O'Donnell. I've been a Liberal since before Reagan tried to claim catsup was a vegetable for school lunch program purposes. Notice I said "Liberal," not Democrat. Though I usually vote for Democratic candidates, I think both parties are 2 sides of the same coin. I believe Al Gore won the 2000 election, and I greatly admire Dr. Howard Dean, whom I believe is responsible for the Democratic victories in 2008 and 2010. I also believe fanaticism or fundamentalism of any kind is dangerous, no matter the cause or reason. THERE IS NO 'ONE TRUE WAY.' And I believe there is no such thing as a bad dog or cat, only those who have been mistreated or misunderstood. :)
