Mother Shub is wonderful, as is Miskatonic U. Neil Gaiman's range is too- purely because I'm such a fan of the books.

I don't know, to me as it's my hometown, I feel London should have had a bit more depth to it- maybe some smokey, leathery notes instead of just plain rose. Was a little disappointed. I wanted more wickedness, damnit.

Immediately out of the bottle, I get quite a strong grassy smell that is a bit sharp and sour, but then once it dries on my skin I get this gorgeous delicate floral white chocolate note that's just gorgeous and ethereal. The lettuce is definitely a key component in this smell. It's lovely, and one of my favorites.

I recieved this as a frimp, and oh dear jesus. It is dishwashing liquid. I am laughing so hard, it smells like I;ve just dunked my head in a vat of fairy liquid and I'm desperately trying to see the sexy in it, but I feel like a 1940s housewise waving around a dishrag and oh, oh dear. Drying down, it smells like alcoholic washing up liquid. I am a 1940s alcoholic housewise. This is what Red Devil has made me.

I am so disappointed. I love SGA, and desperately wanted this to be something like the scent that is the bane of my life trying to find decants/bottles of. UUUURGGGGH. It's just shitty apples. You can quote me on that, swearing and all. Shitty. Apples.

The most delicious, tart-pastry thing in the imp. So yummy it made my mouth water. Luckily, since I'm not a fan of rose scents, my skin is amping the sweet tarty smell more than the rose, which is taking a backseat to the blackcurrant here. This is so, so delicious. I want a bottle!

I've heard so much about this oil, and I had to try it. However, within the first few seconds of applying it then letting it settle, I had to scrub it off. It smells absolutely vile. I then tried it on my dad to see if it was just my skin, then a friend, and oh dear lord, it smells so disgusting I can't even bear to be around it- I have no clue what's wrong with me. It smells bitter, cloying, like something's gone off in a spice cabinet, paired with a new age bookstore smell and dare I say it... pot? This smells like really, really stinky pot. Holy crap, I've never disliked a smell this much before in my life. Back to the foodie, sweet stuff.

This is the first scent ever that I'll be 'liveblogging' the scent of. All the other ones, I've had some preconcieved notions about, an I was just so desperate to try this scent, being a huge fan of Coraline, that I had to try it the second it came in the post. In the bottle: Oh wow. A lovely, candy popcorn smell. Very sweet. Smells like a fairground- but in a strange way, not the fairgrounds you get in the summer where you've got the smell of warm grass and heat in there- this is quite a cold candy smell. I can definitely picture this scent being in an attic. Wet on skin: Slightly less popcorny, but the sweets are amping up like mad here. I love it! Smells like a cinema. Dry: Something sweet and vanilla-y. Oh no, it's going waxy! Still wearable, but I'm raging at my skin chemistry. Not much throw. Still, delicious and despite the fact that it doesnt work brilliantly well on me... Well. I'm still going to wear it.

I'm seeing Miskatonic University for you, Mia. A traditional, conservative and booky smell that's got a lot of kick as well as smarts to it. For Deliciousness, insupportable misery? It's a very blue smell. Or perhaps Green Party? A kind of lush greenish smell that eventually goes into a stronger note than it started off on. As for me, I'm nineteen, English, went to a private school for fourteen years and can be incredibly spoilt sometimes. The thing I couldn't do without would be appearances, as I find romantic attention the best form of flattery. I love literature and reading, but if given the choice, I'd prefer to talk rather than to read, and find that meeting new people is one of the simplest joys in life. I have mostly celtic heritage, as my mother is from Ireland and most of my relatives are there. I lived in Ireland for seven years. I tend to be described as 'thin, curly red hair, you probably already know her.'

I may be being a little stupid with this question, but would you mind explaining what a LARP is? -
Comforting, milky, farmhouse kind of smells?

Guys, I FOUND OUT WHAT IT IS!! Turns out that its an elderly bottle of midway that has to have been aged for the full eight years since it first came out. That was where I was getting the foody scent from, and the spice/milk... That must be the aging, or perhaps it's been mixed ever so slightly with something else. I'm obviously so happy that I found out what it is... but also a little sad because I know I'll probably never find a bottle of it again. -
Nog has been a lovely comforting scent to me for a while. I had an American roommate for a while in my brief stint trying a certain college and every time i wore it, she couldn't stop hugging me and said it reminded her of christmas at home, which I thought was adorable. In the bottle, it smells exactly like a lovely, creamy eggnog. Wet it has the same tones, but a little less creamy and a little more cinnamonny and spicey. It has a waxy undertone to it that reminds me of a candle thats just been lit. Dry my skin absolutely loves this. It has a sweet, spicey, creamy throw that my skin sadly eats up (because it's so yummy) so I have to re-apply quite frequently. Worth it. Looking for a backup bottle as I'm typing this, and could not recommend more.

I know this sounds odd, but Door is absolutely beautiful. A really sneaky, subtle floral that layers well with anything.

I did have a look at the milk threat, but it all seemed to be a milder kind of tea, sugar and cream instead of the kick that this one has. Very nutmeggy and spicey. The thought just occurred to me that it might be two scents mixed Lambswool sounds incredibly tempting. I'm adding everything to my wishlist. I've actually ordered a few scents that you've recommended from the sales forum, so I should hopefully be able to find out what my mystery scent is soon! -
I'm getting this odd, oaky nuttiness from the bottle. It's not a very comforting woody fragrance like the lilac woods seemed to be with florals to balance it out, but a lot colder and a lot more iron-y. It's like the evil twin of a few scents from Phoenix Steamworks. On my skin, this smells exactly how I'd imagine the ninth cage would smell. Freezing and chilled on my nose, with that metal smell that the lab is so good at creating. Not something I'd wear to anything other than a funeral, but so interesting and gives me such a good mental picture of the scene from the book that I can't bear to part with my bottle. A reluctant keeper.

What a wonderful sounding perfume, and the ginger sounds very similar to my bottle. I've just messaged someone about it, hopefully it'll be around for me to test soon. Thank you so much You're welcome! I'm not sure if it's the right one but I hope you will at least like it!! It is often named a very comforting scent, and the reviews suggest that some people get a baking note or are reminded of homes, etc. Who knows? Let us know how it works out! I have a feeling it's an older BPAL, maybe from the early 2000s especially since I've had it for two years, so it may be wishful thinking. I just wish I could know so I could try and get more of it, but this one sounds really promising. Milk and ginger. Mmm.
