I love The Emathides (black amber, black orchid, black currant, olive blossom, wood violet, lavender, blue musk, rose attar, and cedar), has anyone tried any GC scents that are similar?

I agree with IronMollyBlack, I live in the middle of Illinois so I know my corn. Fresh cornfields are sweet & green, dry fields are warm husks with dusty dirt (my favorite!), fermented corn can smell like manure if left around too long, but fresh silage is extremely sweet & slightly yeasty.

I love patchouli, so honey, musk & pachouli together sounds wonderful although the tuberose scares me a little.

Thanks ivyandpeony, I wasn't sure if I should post this under musks so I just started a new thread. The only ones I've tried from your list are Anactoria (fresh it was too sharp on me, but maybe I should try it again now that's it had time to age), Bengal (didn't work to well 'cuz I really amp cinnamon) & Judith & Holofornes which I adore! I'm definitely going to try Les Bijoux, Aghrat-Bat-Mahlat, Bilquis, Schlafende Bagneuse & Harikata.

I am in LOVE with honey musk, but I've only found three BPAL blends with it; The Illustrated Woman, Lady Una & Freak Show. Does anyone know if there's more I'm missing?

I'm wearing The Antikythera Mechanism today & the dry down, when the vanilla & tobacco show up, is very similar to the vanilla & tobacco in Black Lace.

Death Cap is one of my favorites, it smells like dirt & incense on me.

I just tried Carfax Abbey for the first time & I love it! Of course it's an LE, a harder to find LE at that, can anyone recommend a GC that's similar? I have imps of Cathedral, Penitence & Death Cap coming to me 'cuz I've seen reviews that compare them to Carfax Abbey, are there any others I might have missed?

Now I regret swapping my decant of Whipporwill when I was a newbie, I'm lovin' mossy woody blends now, as long as there's no floral or atleast a very light floral. I've consider trying to find some Rat King, but the reviews on it are so mixed that I'm undecided, I'd love to smell furry & mossy, but not like a hamster cage.

Personally, Smut smelled nothing like Devil's Night 06 on me, DN 06 smells sweet, sexy, & smokey, but Smut smells sharp & just like liquid vitamins on me, but of course that's just me, I know alot of the girls here absolutely love Smut.

This is totally a YMMV, but on me Zarita the Doll Girl smells like Tamamo-no-Mae! I don't know why 'cuz they don't seem to share any notes, Zarita is white carnation, iris, orange blossom, and sugared cream & Tamamo-no-Mae is soft skin musk, brushed by white tea leaf, rice flower, black locust flower, white sandalwood kodo soke, dry ginger, benzoin gum, and Amacha. Maybe it's just my skin chemistry, but that's fine with me!

Thanks for the great idea of using cocktail stirrers! I've been using q-tips, but I don't like the fact that it absorbs alot of the oil, as do toothpicks. :off to google some stirrers:

I found out this weekend that Shub (the GC version) smells wonderful on me & the 2 guy friends I was with kept moving in closer to get a sniff.

Once again I got to test this thanks to GypsyRedRose! In the imp it reminds me of a rose perfume my grandma used to wear, wet on my skin I get alot of floral with a slight powdery note, dry it's all rose & powdery ozone, which is giving me a headache. Not a blend for me.

Thanks to GypsyRoseRed I got to try this! In the imp it's sharp citrus, wet on my skin I get alot of lemon & some ozone (which always turns to dryer sheets on me), dry on my skin I get dryer sheet with a background of citrus. Ozone just doesn't seem to work on me.
