So, we'll add this one to the list of ones I love that seemed to not fair so well with the vast majority.. I think Milk Moon 07 just smells divine.. I love it.. it is bright but also.. calming.. the sweet milk and honey are very comforting and sleepy time like.. while the fruits keep is bright, vibrant and.. motivational.. this scent keeps me going. A lot of.. energizing scents.. irritate me.. in that they only have notes to be uplifting or to be motivating and nothing to kind of.. balance that out.. Milk Moon is just.. a perfect blend. As far as the actual scent.. it is creamy and sweet, from the milk and honey.. I get primarily the fig and dates out of the fruits.. though the pome and grape is there.. adding.. a bit of depth.. a slight tartness that just makes things interesting. This could be the scent of a.. fig ice cream.. lovely, edible smelling without being over the top in your face.. I lurve it!

I should preface by saying that I am a foody.. this is the.. genre of scent I tend to fall for.. just making it known, since I have a bias.. though I might be harder on a scent in this category since I love some of them so dearly.. 13 is.. interesting. Sometimes it is all sweet.. sometimes it is all floral.. and sometimes.. sadly.. it is almost.. bitter. The main notes I get are chocolate.. with some strength but.. not entirely dominate, ginger (I do believe it is the ginger.. and not the clove) orchid and peach. I think the bark must be there (and I actually fault it for making this smell.. off to me... chocolate and fruits is yummy.. chocolate and bark.. ummmm.. ) With this scent.. if I just catch a quick whiff of it, it is very lovely.. but if I go to.. huff it.. I get this weird.. sour.. almost.. ear waxyness from it. It is not that big of a deal, as I don't often have other people huffing my wrist.. and I normally don't sit around with my own nose glued to it either.

Looking for a scent to help a hangover
Northernskygal replied to meeow712's topic in Recommendations
Hmm.. how about Dirty.. it is suppose to make you feel clean.. even when maybe you haven't been as much.. 51 might be good for this too.. as I find it to be light.. glowing and bright, but not abrasive.. oh oh oh! And.. Undertow might do well.. as it kind of smells like a mint julep, it would let you kind of.. stay in the alcoholy state of mind.. but with the mint added and the kinda.. coolness.. it might help.. alert you and perk you up a bit.. I am not a drinker though and.. I have never had a hangover in my life so.. my suggestions are based soley on theory.. not actual testing -
I also get a kind of.. citrusness from this.. it does actually kind of cross the line from.. fresh real lemon.. to lemon scented furniture polish fairly quickly. There is a sweetness lurking in the background (the honey myrtle maybe?) but.. I get little to no floral in this and just kinda.. not so great lemon..

Uncontrollable passion and insatiable sexual desire: red musk, patchouli, ylang ylang and myrrh. This is a smokey, sexy scent.. sadly, I don't think it is me. This is too.. I don't know. I actually really enjoy the scent, which is super suprising, as every single note listed usually turns to instant ick on me. This is slightly sweet. It is naughty.. It is actually really kind of nice to have such a.. naughty sexy blend without leather being in it. This would be great for going clubbing.. as it has that.. magnetic feel to it. I will keep the imp, but it will only be worn every now and then.. I could see this being someone sign. scent though.. I am just too.. bubbly I think for this to fit me all the time.. I need bright fruit and sweet foods.. not musk and sex

This is.. spicy.. I see why people say it smells like.. Christmas.. you know those little holiday crafty type stores you go in around the holiday season.. this is a very similar smell. It is not bad.. it is just.. not something I want to go around smelling like.. I think though, it would be stunning as a room scent come the holidays!

I amp dragon's blood... alot.. it gives off that.. sweetness that I simply adore, though it tends to swallow most other elements in blends. Blood Rose is.. divine.. the rose is there.. but it has been almost.. candied by the dragon's blood. I don't get much wine at all from this. This is a scent you can't ignore.. you put it on.. go about your day and keep catching this lovely scent swirling around you all day. Rose and I tend to not get along but.. this blend is.. sweet and.. a little dark and.. lovely

This is a stunningly pretty blend. Really. It is floral.. but.. it is an interesting floral. I usually don't do ylang ylang or sandalwood.. at all but this is.. just.. so good. I think BPAL is converting me to lavender slowly bu surely! This is a blend to wear when you want to feel..pretty, calm.. together. It is early and I am lacking for a better way of conveying just how lovely this scent it. It is unusual and feminine and.. sigh.. I could huff this one all day!

On the bright side.. the cinnamon doesn't eat my wrist.. on the not so bright side.. this blend truly isn't for me. I kinda knew it wouldn't.. as patchouli, cedarwood and vetiver are not really.. good notes to me.. this might smell great on my boyfriend though.. he tends to like the.. sharper dark scents.. and on him, they smell great so.. I just kind of end up smelling like.. a greenhouse.. or.. a store that sells planting type supplies and while not unpleasant.. not something I want to wear.

The licorice smell is simply too strong for me in this blend. The cherry is there.. and it sweetens this blend up.. a lot.. but it is just.. too much..
-
This one kind of confuses me.. I usually stay away from myrrh, it tends to do bad things on my skin.. and I usually stay away from most woods (sandalwood, cypress, oak.. I don't discriminate here, as almost all of them just go nuts on me).. Wings of Azrael is.. interesting. It does end of wonky on me.. but it takes it a little while to get there. It's not a bad smell exactly.. it just kind of.. clashes... and I don't know if it is the notes clashing with each other.. or with my skin but this one is just not for me.. at all..

Lurid.. I expected something.. darker due to the name. This is actually a fairly tame scent on me. It is fairly sweet.. The lavender is a warm version.. not the sharp, cold version I tend to find more often in blends. This is more of a sheer scent to me.. which is not to say that is doesn't have a lot of throw.. it is fairly strong just.. transparent somehow. I also have on Paris and.. I think these two are similiar, though both are lavender based so.. Lurid is stronger and sweeter though. I don't really get any ozone from this.. which is probably good, as I think it would smell.. out of place somehow in this blend. It kind of ends with a.. weird.. aftertaste.. if you know what I mean.. it smells really nice at fisrt but, after sniffing I am left with this kinda.. odd scent in my nose..

So, I always kinda skim the reviews, atleast on the last page, before posting my own.. just to kinda see where everyone else stands on the scent.. (plus I am not always very good at picking out things and reading other reviews can normally help me identify) and.. it doesn't really seem like Undertow gets much love.. at all.. which is super sad to me because it is just so gorgeous. If I weren't a fickle Gemini who changes her mind every second.. I would say this could have potential of becoming my sig. scent. There is a mint.. and I will agree it is more than a hint but.. it is mint leaves, true.. herbal mint.. not icy, generic mint. And the juniper! I am starting to like juniper more and more.. it has a really kind of.. distinctive.. unusual scent about it.. and then with the lotus on top.. oi... this is just such a perfect blend. It is sweet, and refreshing and.. it would wear great during the winter (it is could carry a cool feeling well) or the summer (to counteract the heat) I love it and need a big bottle.. soon!

On me, Port Royal is.. spiced rum and wood.. but more like.. spiced rum that has been spilled over wood and has kinda.. soaked in, the woodiness dominates this blend for me. I am usually not a fan of woody notes in my blends at all.. but, I could see myself actually wearing this one on occasion.. This is the smell of adventure! There is a hint of perfumey sweetness, which is helping to tame the wood a bit, but it is subtle. I must say I am a bit jealous because on darling Eindwarg this is a sweet spiced rum.. with the wood in the background.. it's not so sweet that it smells feminine on him or anything.. it is just more.. skin sweet on him as opposed to sweetened wood on me..

Funny thing about Paris.. I know I have worn it, several times before.. just never to review and.. I never really liked it.. I kept wearing it though.. mostly, I think, because I tend to forget what I have tried.. until I put it on again. This time.. wow.. I don't know if my nose has changed or if the oil has aged or what but.. this is so tremendously lovely.. I just.. I wonder what was wrong with me before. I am not going to lie.. I tend to avoid lavender, as it tends to go really sharp on me.. or really.. generic on me. This blend.. it just.. lush. It hints at spiciness without being foody, the lotus makes it a bit unusual and this is.. just the most.. refined lavender I have ever smelled. This is wonderful, regal.. calming (I'll bet it would make a great blend to wear to bed.. as it is comforting and pretty).. this is worthy of a big bottle.
