I just *knew* I'd love this! And I did on first sniff and wet on wrists, but then as it dried, something sort of fizzy/burny came out and just zapped my eyes to watering. This is extremely strange as I'm not really scent-sensitive and rarely have physical reactions. I think it must be either the orchid, iris or "sweet roots" (though I doubt it's the latter) because I've tried the others with much good luck. It's a delightful fragrance, though, just doesn't work with my skin in the end.

From the vial: Sweet aquatic floral with a tiny bit of spice underneath. Wet on skin (wrists and dec.): A dash soapy for about a nanosecond, then.....oh yes, this is misty and languid, like a real bayou. I can smell gardenia or maybe honeysuckle. I can almost hear bees buzzing. Early spring down in Louisiana, very nice blend this is. Reminds me of the porch at Twelve Oaks. Bayou is drying down now and whatever lent it the spiciness is now fading but not completely. Oh my and the cypress is there in the background. Something in this blend makes me want to "almost salivate" ~ odd. I love the freshness in this and the woody notes keep it all balanced and grounded. This is incredibly comforting to me. I hope this lasts on me, because if it does, a big bottle may be forthcoming. Will update! Almost Final Thoughts: Bayou is an aquatic, langorous green floral with cypress and moss dancing in the background as if on a faint sonorous breeze. Just beautiful. Luscious. Smells very expensive and southern and la-tee-dah. This is going in my top ten list even if it doesn't last.

O is delectable. I'm finding that amber is very nice with my chemistry and this is no exception. O is a warm and snuggly honey fragrance, with deep comforting notes of soft spices. I like to wear it when I'm feeling "hermity" and just want to stay at home. A wonderful scent to wear when it's cold outside. This scent soaks into my skin and seems more a natural skin scent than others which simply sit on top and yell (or whisper) "Hi, I'm perfume" -- just lovely. I'll have to get a big bottle of this.

Bordello smelled sweet, red, fruity and boozy on me and it's not a scent I feel comfortable wearing. This is perhaps because I tried it in broad daylight, whereas Bordello seems like more of a night creature. It's like waking up after a drunken night of debauchery and something really sweet and boozy is floating around the room with nothing to anchor it down. Dizzy weakness. I can't "do" a scent this toothachingly sweet unless it has something amber-resiny or spicy or herbally for it to latch onto. Bordello is fun and unique, but just not for me.

Old Dublin, you are a beauty. On first sniff, from the bottle, it's an aquatic pine. Then when I put it on, it goes suddenly sweeter. Oh heavens, it's a slightly sweet rosey pine! I love this. Very fresh and sparkley. As it dries down, the sweetness fades and there's a soft pine scent left on my skin - just barely hanging on. In 15 minutes, Old Dublin was gone, like a leprechaun into the misty forest. Grr! Not to be outdone, I slathered some more on so I could finish this review. Overall, I love this, but it doesn't last long enough on me for a bottle.

Snake Oil took two tries for me to really appreciate it and I'm glad I didn't give up. This is sweet vanilla and spice, and there's also something almost root beery about it, maybe there's sassafras in this beauty of an oil. I really like the honey edge in this, it reminds me of the honey in O which is so nice.

In the vial this smells *very* sharp but in a good "wake up" sort of way. As soon as the wand touched my skin, the air in front of my face exploded with eucalyptus! Jabberwocky is quite the experience. It quickly toned down, though and the pine and orange surfaced. After about 30 minutes I can barely detect it, a nicely balanced and pleasant pine and orange lingers. This would be great to use to test one's sinuses! That first blast is really unique. I can see myself using this on particularly groggy mornings.

Samhain is really beautiful! It's sweeter than Harvest Moon (which I adore), but has a kinship with it in that there are those lovely buttery, woodsy smokey notes. I can see why so many people begged for its return. I was practically jumping for joy during the initial stages. Unfortunately, on me, once Samhain completely dries down, I'm left with one dimensional apples. Apple scents seem to go a bit sour candy on me. (Well, except for Eve, but that's mostly roses.) A truly artistic blend - I'm envious of all those whose chemistry keeps the complexity through to the end. (It's okay though, I was able to use it for bait to snare a bottle of the discontinued Virgo my preciousssssss)

I hope to get Samhain in time to wear on Halloween, but if I don't, I'll probably wear Harvest Moon, maybe layered with something.

I'm so glad the lab included Dragon's Tears in my last order because I probably would've overlooked it. From the bottle, it smells sweet, not so much salt, but as soon as I put it on I got a vision of the beach, specifically a wooden fence on the dunes covered in honeysuckle vine with a salty breeze off the ocean and someone somewhere selling sweets. I really like this, though it doesn't last as long as I'd like, perhaps mixing it with lotion will make it last longer. Very nice, beachy scent, but not necessarily a "summer" scent because the beach is fine all year long.

Harvest Moon smells like autumn, which is my favorite season! It's just glorious, on me, and in my oil burner. All of the ingredients mix and mingle and I swear I get something different each time I sniff. This doesn't seem to waft much but that's fine, it's like having a secret. The foody scents mixed with the flowers and the bit of smoke definitely brings to mind a feast celebrating the bounties of the season. I'm so glad I ordered this!

mmm, peppermint! There's something green in there...pine/cypress/juniper? Maybe even cedar. Sweet cedar. This is lovely. Oh, I think it's lavender! I'm barely getting a hint of something anise-like as well. Holy cow, there might even be patchouli in there. Ah, now I smell violet! Woodsy violet with peppermint backing up. Not a "dark woodsy", though. After about 10 minutes, the peppermint is undetectable, alas, but it's still wonderful to "ride" the scents as they change. Fabulously Mystifying! *applause*

I love the scent of grapefruit, its "sparkliness" and that's what Baobhan Sith delivers when wet. I've worn this scent off and on for about a week now and it's especially nice when just out of a cool bath on a hot day. Sometimes, it fades fairly quickly, other times it lasts a couple of hours. On those happy occasions when it lasts, it dries down to an aquatic gingery floral on me that is ever-so-slightly powdery. I like it. Fresh, clean, uplifting, I'm debating whether or not to get a bigger bottle of this lovely creation.

I'm a Virgo and love earthy green scents, so Virgo was part of my first order. I must say that on first sniff, I loved the scent, incensey, slightly warm, earthy and rosey, but I wasn't sure I could handle it on my person. A tiny drop applied to one wrist and wrists rubbed together was all it took for this wonderful scent to envelope me in near rapture. The rose came out more on the dry down and everything became a tiny dash sweeter. I really like the solitude-in-the-forest feeling of this one. Bravo! Adding: Virgo is too heavy for wearing on a hot summer's day, but my oh my is it ever nice on a cool summer night with rain falling.

Moon Rose is absolutely lovely. Beautiful, airy, clear, expansive, luminous rose which is neither cloying nor heavy nor powdery nor soapy. It's walking the fine line between "ethereal" and "clean" so can I say it's "spotlessly ethereal"? Perhaps! Lasted a decent 3-4 hours before fading. I sense a big bottle forthcoming, yes.

My first impression out of the vial and wet on the skin was a sharp, cold "nip" of a scent.....whoa! Ice cold metallic violets? As Saturnalia dried down, the coldness mellowed to more of a "clear" scent and the violet sweetened up just a bit, but not much. Mostly, this becomes a bright e x p a n s i v e clearheaded scent on me. Many hours later, I still catch a hint of sweet violets, but the coolness is still there. Not a warm scent by any stretch. I like this for summer, especially after it has dried.

Lush to BPAL scent comparisons (BNever included too)

I love Tramp and will, therefore, put Greed on my next list. Thanks! Envy reminds me quite a bit of Pleasure Dough and compliments Dream Cream. -
(I'm not overwhelmed with covetousness, but maybe that will come later.) This is a really nice fresh scent! I'm not much of a "mint" person, but the other components of this scent, namely the lavender, temper the mint a great deal. The sharpness fades on the drydown and my husband says it smells like I just walked under a lime tree. He's right, on me, it smells like a lime tree with a soft "tone." Lovely! There's the faintest hint of sweetness, barely there. It's perfect for this very hot day. I like this - my very first BPAL to try. (Thank you sophia_starchild!) I wanted to add something now that I've worn Envy several times. It reminds me very much of Lush's Pleasure Dough and blends wonderfully with their Dream Cream. It smells more like part of me than a perfume floating on top. Hard to explain, but I think this will be one of my big bottle purchases.

Chocolate and Cocoa, in every combination possible

Fulltiltredhead, you've convinced me that I must try Seraglio in my next order. I like staying power! fallowdeer, here's the story behind 13 Rabbit: In 1939 Professor Peyton discovered El Tajin in southern mexico. He also discovered the exploits of 13 Rabbit, a ruler in the 1st century. His name, derived from the Mesoamerican calendar, is written with a rabbit surrounding two bars next to three dots. The Mayans were keen on spice and chocolate so we named this after him. All perfectly logical and not at all contrived! --LUSH Times/ NA Forum Cut List You're right! Cryptic! Every now and then you'll see 13 Rabbit up for swaps. When it gets cooler out, I'm going to try making some of that mexican hot chocolate and order a Soft Coeur! Ms.MSgirl, of the 4 rose scents you mentioned, I've two on the way! (Old London and Eve) I'm so looking forward to them! -

Oh! fallowdeer, you have all those ingredients! Let me know what you think of it. I won't be able to recreate that bath until I get my 13 Rabbit shower gel! Fulltiltredhead, so.....how is it? *taptaptap* (lol!) I just read the description (again) for Kali. I can't believe I didn't notice the rose in the ingredients list the first time I read it. Which is better, Bliss or Gluttony? I just read the reviews and they both sound wonderful! -

Oh! Thanks, fallowdeer (love that name!) -- I didn't realize Kali had rose in it. Here's my post from the LUSH forum as to what I used to create this heavenly bath (quite by accident, too!): (apologies for the discontinued nature of the following bath, but it was so fabulous, I felt compelled to share! Plus, it drove the hubby wild!) ~Spiced Chocolate Honey Rose~ 1. Turn the taps on full blast and squirt in a generous helping of B Never gel and a little squirt of Skinny Dip. 2. Insert self into tub. Drop in a 13 Rabbit and rub all over your body until it's dissolved completely. wee! Lay back and soak awhile. 3. Wash hair with B Never and dunk to rinse most of it out. Proceed to wash body with Skinny Dip. 4. Run some fresh water and rinse hair and body. Towel off and powder yourself with Dust to Dust powder. Absolutely Divine~~~~ Bliss or Gluttony with Jezebel! Got it! Thanks, andrabell! -

Hi. I recently used a combination of Lush products that achieved an incredible spicy, smoked honey, chocolate rose scent. Very good for a romantic evening, let me tell you. I know, it sounds overpowering, but it wasn't. So, I was wondering if there was one BPAL oil that combines these scents and if not, perhaps there may be two, that when combined, would create something akin to this. Thanks in advance!
