    Unicorn Hunt

When I first apply Unicorn Hunt its like I opened up a jar of cassia at work and took a huge whiff. Almost a single note, but after a bit, I start to get hints of berries, currents. I don't get any vetiver in this blend, which is a disappointment for me personally, but vetiver haters can breathe easy. The only bit of amber is the warmth of the blend and the slight sweetness overall. I can see this getting a lot of wear in the colder months. Im so glad I blind bottled this one. Another thing, I usually react fairly harshly to the presence of cinnamon in my perfume, all red and splotchy, but this blend doesnt give me that reaction. I love it.

    Embalming Fluid

This smells exactly like dryer sheets to me. Dryer sheets and pledge. If I wanted to smell like the inside of a laundry room this would be the exact perfume Id grab. As thats not really a feeling I want to invoke, Ill give this one a pass.

    Come to Me

Im not a huge fan of light, clean fragrances. I prefer my perfume to be dark, smokey, resinous. That being said, this isnt terrible. Its very light and pleasantly gently floral. I could see this being used in the stickiest of summer days in an attempt to feel lighter. Ill keep the imp, but wont reorder

    The Isles of Demons

At first on my skin I get notes of black pepper. Just straight up from the grinder black pepper. After a while it subsides and something sweeter and heavier comes into play like maybe carnation and something woody. Interesting, but not something Ill ever reach for again.

    Bewitched

I received this as a frimp. Initially this smells like a potpourri left out in my grandparents house and it stays there. Not for me defintely, and when i offered it to The Boyfriend he made a face and complained about how fruity it was. Ill try it again, but if I dont like it Ill just rehome it to a friend.

VetchVesper- I have tried Bow and Crown and I adore it. Its on my big bottle list for certain. The White Witch sounds absolutely perfect and now I must hunt for it. Thanks for the recs! I love hearing about scents I havent come across yet.

Persimmon- I havent, but its been on my short list for a while. The lilac cologne gives me pause as does the lemon rind. Ill give it a try soon!

Ive posted here once before, but my tastes have grown and I have tried so many new things! Hope that its okay to post here again. Top 5 as of now: 1. Black Moths 2. Tombeur 3. The Black Rider 4. Western Diamondback 5. Wulfric/Mme Moriarty. I couldnt decide on the last one, its a solid tie. I really like leather, patchouli, red musk, amber, and spices in my perfume. Not a fan of clean, floral scents and aquatic turns to sour milk or plastic on my skin. GC or LE, I like em all.

    The Black Rider

God this is lovely. This is the warm musky smell of a well worn leather jacket. This jacket belongs to Steve Rogers. This is what Captain America smells like out of uniform. Its got an old-timey old fashioned man musk that I think is the tobacco and leather at play. Theres also a dusky sweetness from the amber and the opoponax is adding a mellow quality. I cannot keep from huffing my arm. Id love this on a man, but I also like this on me. This is a scent for rainy nights and candlelight. Comfort and sensuality on any person, with a hint of masculinity and strength. Clearly I need a bottle.

Happy to help! You should check out Dorian now that I think about it. It has a similarity to Alice. Dorian's notes are : a sweet gilded blossom lying over a twisted and corrupted core. A Victorian fougere with three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea.

I have a lot of scents in common with you, Scarlet Woodland. I suggest 1. The Bow and Crown of Conquest: Nobility and haughtiness befitting the Antichrist: sage, carnation and cedar with lavender, vanilla, white musk and leather. 2. Dracul: Black musk, tobacco, fir, balsam of peru, cumin, bitter clove, crushed mint, and orange blossom. 3.The Lion: The dry, glorious warmth of the Savannah. A golden, spiced amber, proud, regal and ferocious. 4. Eve: (This scent is discontinued but sounds exactly like what you are looking for) The spirit of temptation, the essence of lost innocence. Apple blossom, rose, ylang ylang and golden honey.

    Leo 2016

My partner is a Leo and I was struck by the notes i this blend and knew I had to try it. On the skin Leo is a spicy floral smell at first. I can detect the carnation, amber and saffron and they blend together in a lovely cloud. At dry down, the chamomile comes more forward with its slightly more herbal smell.. which for me is disappointing, as I wanted this to solidly be in the golden ambery resinous sort of scent profile. It dries down to a warm spicy carnation with hints of resins and amber overlay and I am fairly pleased with that.

    A Shadow In The Elevator

Strands of ectoplasm floating through the shadowed air: black plum, inky vetiver, cashmere patchouli, dark oudh, and spectral musk. This is a lovely, slinky perfume. Its less heady than my beloved Black Moths. The patch is defintely softer, smoother here. The vetiver follows its lead and the plum is a smoky dark sweetness. I love it and Im delighted I got the bottle.

    Sleepytime BPAL

I usually wear Wulfric to sleep in, but I also like Palmyra, Aureus, and Cathedral for sleeping scents. I usually reach for soft resins or lavenders for sleep.

Feeling lazy - casual scents for lounging

My favorite choices for that soft lounging feel are often what I choose to wear for bed. Wulfric 2016, Dee, Palmyra. I like scents that seem to float and these do just the trick.

    Cthulhu

Aquatics and my skin do not play well together. This is a cthuhlu who has decided to really devote his time to being a school janitor. Its just soapy pledge water on me. No thanks!

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2015)

I got a tiny amount of the old version of this from an ebay purchase lot a while back and instantly loved it. So of course, I had to have the newest version and its still love. This Mme is a little fruitier, more full bodied. She still has the sexy sinister vibe of red musk, and the sweetness of the vanilla. I love it, but like many of the Carnival scents this go around, the throw isnt very far and my skin soaks it up like a sponge. Maybe if it ages a few months itll last a little longer. Super pleased with it overall.

    Tombeur

Oh man. Oh my friends this scent is so good. Testing the other, I kept getting a whiff of what I swear was smoke. It was warm and lush and felt naughty. Sifting through the many tiny spots of new smellies on my arm I immediately found Tombeur and started huffing it. I cant keep my nose away from my own flesh. Its this red musk party with vanilla, incense, patch and vetiver as distinguished guests. Im gonna have to limit myself from just dumping the bottle all over my head.

    Looking for a Gardenia scent

Thanks guys! Ive tried a couple of the suggestions and its totally possible that my skin eats up gardenia, because when its in a blend, I tend to amp the other notes much more heavily. Ill need to hunt down some of the more LE scents to find what I am looking for, methinks.

    Looking for a Gardenia scent

So I took a gander at the threads here to make sure I was starting a duplicate topic and came up empty. Mods, I apologize if I goofed. Its the time of year for me where the gardenias have started blooming and I love it. I'd also love to smell like gardenia, and I am having trouble finding a bpal blend that satisfies. Any thoughts?

    Thirteen (13): May 2016

First 13 purchase ever! And I am so glad I did. This oil is dark chocolate in the bottle, almost a single note. Wearing, the amber and the myrrh come forward to a dark resinous blend. It smells like a bar of dark chocolate left in the back of an incense store. I love it.
  23. Joyleaf_

    Western Diamondback

In the decant it is mostly snake oil with leather and sage glimpses. On the skin, it stays mainly that way and then softly melts away. I love it, but it defintely needs more aging.

    Wulric, The Wolfman (2016)

First time trying Wulfric. The lavender is sharp and almost astringent, but it plays nicely with the cocoa and the vetiver. AS it dries the clary sage makes its way to the forefront and Im left with a warm cocoa-lavender-musk scent that evokes feelings of warm blankets on rainy days. Love it!

Imp and Bottle Cap Issues (breakage, leakage)

I recently had the same issue as everyone has been describing, only one imp out of a bunch though. At least so far. And luckily (or not so luckily) it was a scent I liked, so I didnt mind it spilling out over all of my luggage.
