    Tempest

Ended up with an imp of this. I wasn't expecting much after Windward Passage all but turned into Red Tide on me, but this is gorgeous- in the vial, it smells like the air just before the rain, and on the skin it smells like the world just after a rain shower- I call it a "wet stone" scent, because it reminds me of being in Edinburgh, with all the liquid sunshine and castle walls. It's the rain scent I've been looking for for years, and I'm so sad to have discovered it well after it was discontinued.

    Akuma

In the bottle: FRUIT. On me: Very, very sweet fruity candy, with a hint of powdery sweetness underneath. I'd love to eat this if it were a sweet and not a scent, but I'm not enjoying it too much on my skin- it reminds me of things that are too sickly-sugary for me to stand, like Dr. Pepper and baklava. Mellows to something reminiscent of fruit-flavored gum. I can see why people would like this- it's sweet, and very bright- but it's really not me.

    Windward Passage

On me, this went from a sharp green smell that reminded me of aquarium water to something that was impressively close to an ocean smell to a vague, sweet green. Right now it just smells like this allegedly rain-scented body wash that I used to have. Apparently, aquatics are not for me- even during the oceany part, I wasn't particularly comfortable with the scent, which is strange because I love the smell of the actual (Pacific) ocean.

    Block Buster

In the imp: This smelled like an old head shop, or like books that I keep near my incense burner. On me: still that smell that reminds me of incense, but there's a sweetness behind it that tempers the smell. Overall, I'm pretty pleased- when I first put it on, I was afraid I'd smell like unwashed hippie sweater all day, but it's more like a comfy jacket on a cool day. It's been a couple of hours and I'm just starting to smell the cinnamon, but it's not a strong part of the mixture- just a hint of spiciness, which keeps up the warmth. It's fairly strong on me, since I put on the tiniest bit and it hasn't faded in intensity, but the throw/sillage/other-people-smelling-this-ness seems to fade pretty quickly.
