This is nearly identical to Tweedledee. It's perhaps a bit milder and not quite as aggressively sweet, but honestly they are perfume twins. I actually prefer Tweedledee, it's just a touch brighter and fruitier.

This is a hard one to pin down- I get mostly red musk, something a bit dry and spicy (like cinnamon), and kind of a "generic bpal" smell. Looking at the notes, I think the combo of pie and pepper is reading to my nose as cinnamon. This is very unisex and warm, but not for me. It's much less sweet than the notes would imply and just kind of odd and distracting.

Oh gosh this is so lovely! I've always avoided cream because of a bad experience with bpal's milk note, but I just adore this! Soft and dreamy sweet cream with just a thread of saffron running through. I don't like it wet, the saffron is very strong and it smells almost unpleasant. But just a few minutes on the skin and this blooms into something delicate and sweet. It reminds me a bit of Aristocratic Couple (same simplicity and delicacy) and Ivory Vulva (but much gentler). EDIT: I've been on a real journey with this scent. While I loved the way it smelled when I first reviewed, I was ultimately unable to wear it because of how completely overpowering it was. I'd dab a small bit on my wrist and be unable to smell anything else all day but aggressive vanilla saffron. It wasn't exactly cloying but just overwhelming and distracting, not at all what I wanted or expected from a scent that has such soft, dreamy notes. After a couple years of aging, the scent has settled down somewhat. I still have to be careful when applying, but now I can wear it and not be instantly overcome. It's still very strong though.

Soapy lemon verbena. Very citrusy too, I think from the orange blossom. Just way too soapy for me. This reinforces that verbena is a total bully on my skin and takes over everything!

When I hear "aggressively feminine" I think Skuld: Ylang ylang, honey, Egyptian and Arabian musks and labdanum. Intense floral and luscious honey. To play up the dance aspect, maybe something like Pele: muguet and Hawaiian white ginger enveloped by warm, damp tropical blooms. For a bright, fruity floral, maybe Tweedledee: Kumquat, white pepper, white tea and orange blossom. Getting away from the floral aspect, I think something like Black Temple Burlesque Troupe might suit your character: Cacao, black musk, and tobacco absolute.

Beautiful! Honey and chamomile. This smells soft, comforting, and old-fashioned. For some reason it conjured up impressions of Little House on the Prairie for me! Unfortunately it turned to playdough (honey does that to me every time), but I really liked it before that happened.

Kind of a dry scent, sandalwood with an undertone of plum. I can see why people might like this, it's delicate and smells quite calm and grounding. It's not for me though. I'm realizing that sandalwood and fruit scents don't do it for me. This is very faint and fades away quickly.

Lovely! Hits with a blast of dry chocolate, reminds me strongly of Velvet at the start. Then it becomes rich and creamy. A true milk chocolate scent, delicious! Unfortunately it gets a touch of play-doh when it dries down, but I really like the wet stages.

Unfortunately the Other Miss Forcible doesn't seem to work on me, unlike the regular MF which is delightful. There must be a different musk in here- the scent goes plasicky and bitter when it dries, which happens to me with some musks. Before the unpleasant dry stage, this sells similar to MF, but with something that smells a little nutty, as opposed the the old candy smell in MF. It's also kind of dusty and oppressive smelling. It has an element that smells just like artificial fog. Very creepy and unusual!

I'm loving the vanilla in Aristocratic Couple. It's not foody, to me it smells quite elegant. And it comes across as sugary, rather than creamy, if that makes any sense... I ended up getting a second bottle

I wasn't sure about this when I first tried it. It was very faint, and the rice flower didn't smell the way I expected. I think it just needed to age for a bit though, because after a month or so I like it a lot. It's mostly cream at first, with a hint of vanilla (the sophisticated kind, not the foody kind). The rice flower is quite apparent. It's a papery floral, not sweet.The whole scent was much less sweet than I expected. It's light, almost airy. Kind of elegant and maybe a touch mysterious. It's great for layering.

A very refined and elegant vanilla, paired with fresh apricot. Simple and sweet and a total winner! As other have pointed out, it doesn't have much throw. But if I slather it lasts a surprisingly long time on me, it was still detectable after 10 hours. And no morphing into anything weird- it stays true all day. I get no spice, just vanilla and apricot, which is fine by me! I like this very much. It's in the same family as Katharina (the apricot smells identical to my nose) but perhaps more mature? Despite being a fruit and vanilla scent this isn't childish or girlish smelling, it's quite grown-up.

Surprisingly nice! I tried this without looking at the notes, and my first thought was myrrh, with a tart element that I thought might be orange, and possibly a light floral. I was right with the myrrh and the floral, not sure what makes this read as citrus though... maybe the honey wine? I definitely get the sweet resins here. This is actually really really nice, and the only bpal with lilac that wasn't a disaster on me. The myrrh is very predominant, the other elements just serve to brighten it a bit. Myrhh lovers, check this out!

Wow, this is the soapiest bpal I've ever tried. Exactly like sniffing a bar of inexpensive dollar-store soap. I can feel this at the back of my throat, blech!

Dusty, like dry tobacco. Maybe patchouli leaf is a dry leaf, like tobacco? I like the bit of sweetness in this from the plum/vanilla, but that's about all I like. The dusty dry note in this is very similar to Black Silk, another blend that didn't wow me. It's... fine, but really nothing special. Very light and faint. It blooms a bit on the skin and becomes sweeter. I'm definitely getting more of the red fruits and vanilla, and maybe even a hint of red musk. Still suffers from that unfortunate dustiness though, and the vanilla has a trace of plastic doll-head, which is too bad. This has some promising qualities but I can safely say it's not for me.

Buttery coconut frosting. This is very rich and foodie, it reminds me of Beaver'versary. But there's something about this I'm not wild about. Just an odd note that's kind of spoiling things a bit. I really can't put my finger on it. Maybe the coconut, trying to be dry and toasty amid the rich creaminess of the rest of the notes? It's not a bad scent, but it might be too overwhelming as a perfume. It might be nice mixed in with an unscented lotion though. Edit: The drydown on this is glorious, though. That slightly weird note is gone and all I'm left with is coconut Beaver'versary!

Hot damn! This is bold, in-your-face, over the top SEXY. It's heady(almost too much) ylang ylang over honey. I thought I didn't like ylang ylang but apparently I was wrong, because I LOVE this. It really isn't me at all (over the top and sexy would not be how I'd describe myself ) but putting this on is like playing dress-up. I was going to say this would be a good perfume for a femme fatale, but I don't think it's mysterious or subtle enough. Maybe for the trophy wife of a villian? Think plunging necklines, strappy gold high-heels, and blatant come-ons, all on just the wrong side of tasteful. Unfortunate this turns to play-doh on me after an hour (like everything else with honey), but what an exciting hour it was!

At first I smelled juniper, but looking at the notes I see it's pine. This dries to a soapy eucalyptus, which doesn't sound great but I actually really enjoy. I don't like this as a perfume, but I'd love it as a soap! I never get any orange, which is unfortunate.

Pear! A big pear with a capital "P." There is a bright edge of sharp lemon. It's like... shards of a broken mirror. I don't really know how else to describe it. As it dries down, it becomes white musk with a nice fruity hint of pear. Definitely a winner for me, but not something I need multiples of.

Deceptively sweet: bourbon vanilla oleoresin and benzoin resinoid. I was very disappointed with this. It has no smell at all in the bottle, and virtually none when applied. I use bath oils as a moisturizer, so I slather it directly on my skin, and I still smell nothing. If I put my nose right to my skin I get a faint hint of sweetness. I guess I'll use it as an unscented moisturizer!

This is such a unique and interesting scent. It's one of those weird scents that I have a soft spot for, even though I never wear it. It smells like fizzy lime candies, but in a natural way. Maybe organic fizzy lime candies? It's bright and joyful, but very earthy, with a clearly discernible dirt note. I have no idea what gives it it's fizzy, bubbly quality. Whatever it is, it makes this fun and uplifting. Very nice!

I'm not a big fan of this. It's a very sweet, very in-your-face men's cologne. When it's wet it has a note that's almost like gin, which I don't like. Then it's just that strong cologne note, with a heavy undertone of very sweet vanilla. It's quite overpowering on me. I'm also getting something that smells very artificial/plasticy and is actually giving me a headache. I think it must be the "lilac cologne." I've had a few bpals with lilac go quite unpleasant on me, so I'm thinking that must be the culprit. I actually want to wash this off I'm thinking for a masculine scent with vanilla I'd stick with Golden Priaprus. That has a lovely vanilla and is masculine in a way that is fresh and not overwhelming. Sorry Crowley, I wanted to love you!

This is a beautiful scent, very much like Bengal or the Dodo. It's almost all cinnamon on me, which I love! However, it has a strong tea note. It smells like black tea to me, and I really don't like tea. Plunder was close to being a hit, but I'll stick to the tea-less Bengal for my spicy cinnamon needs.

Sandalwood and tobacco. I get a touch of sweetness, but it smells more like chocolate than vanilla to me. The patchouli is very smokey. The previous reviewer who mentioned wet rock is on point, I definitely get a dusty mineral vibe from this. I'm not wild about the tobacco, it's definitely the main player and it's a bit of a bully. With the smokey patchouli, and the overall dry feel of the scent, I end up smelling a bit too much like I've just enjoyed a cigar. A very lady-like cigar, but still... Everything plays together here to end up with a cocoa-like scent. It's soft and dry and very much like incense. My "colour-impression" is ash-grey. Quite stately and lovely, but not for me.

So I've completely lost my mind over Haloes (Oak, tonka, vanilla, white sandalwood, lily of the valley, white ginger, amber, and apricot) and I find myself really intrigued my the tonka note. There don't seem to be too many GCs that have it that I can wear. Aeval was not bad, but it's discontinued, and most of the others seem quite masculine or have other notes that I can't wear. So I'm turning to veteran bpal'ers for LE recs from the last few years that feature a strong tonka note! I generally prefer sweeter, feminine scents. If you'd describe it as "pretty", I'll probably like it. Anything come to mind?
