    Glasgow

I have to say, I was leery of Glasgow because of the blackberry note, and I really don't like smelling like food. I gave it a shot, though, and was pleasantly surprised. In the imp – juicy berries over roses. Wet/Drydown – getting wetter and greener. Getting more heather. Pleasantly, sharply, greenly herbal with a yummy berry overcoat. Still roses in there. The floral aspect is a very earthy, wet, gardeny floral – I almost get the sharp must of earth/dirt, which grounds the berries and keeps them from being too sweet and foody. Dry – Sweetens up, loses a bit of the sharp green herbal note and blackberry becomes dominant. There’s still an earthy/herbal background though, which again keeps the berries from being too sticky and sweet. Beautiful! I love Glasgow!! Definitely a big bottle purchase.

    Sed Non Satiata

I got this imp from Almeda, who said that it gave her a headache. I really had high hopes for it, as I adore the description and a lot of the notes... In the bottl – rich, sweet musk. Very sexual. Is that… cocoa? Wet/Drydown – Something sharp comes out, maybe the cognac. Ooo, patchouli is coming out to play. I still smell cocoa, which is weird. Ah, that could be the myrrh. It’s weird, it smells like cocoa with patchouli, but in a good way. A very sweet musky scent seems to be the base, which the honey could be contributing to. Or the tuberose and geranium. I don’t really get anything floral from this though. I get a visual of a dark club with writhing, sweating bodies, a very sexually charged atmosphere, like a fetish club. It reminds me of sweat, but in a good, sexy way. I think it’s the patchouli that keeps this sharp and prevents it from becoming too sweet on me. I love you, patchouli. This is very strong on me. Dry – Myrrh. I think the myrrh interacting with the honey is where I was getting cocoa from. It’s sexy and sweaty, yet it has a “dry” feel to it too – very contradictory. I’m also getting something spicy. It’s absolutely enticing, but it's really, really strong on me. It's giving me a headache. I enabled a friend of mine with this scent, and it smells amazing on her, so I gave her the imp. As she kept catching whiffs of it on her, she said "I'm this close to going to the bathroom and having my way with myself!" I'm glad it found a good home, because I wanted to love this one so much, but it just wasn't meant to be. Since both Sed Non Satiata and Tiger Lily were insanely strong on me and not so lovely, I'm thinking that honey hates me.

    Tempest

In the bottle – cool, wet, watery, clean Wet/Drydown – Something sharp yet fresh, salty-sweet; storm clouds rolling in; restless, choppy waves. The sharpness is holding on. Definitely getting something salty here, but it’s also sweet and fresh, it’s such a contradiction. Crisp is a perfect description. This is the bitingly clean humidity on the beach before the storm. I love the sharp note – it’s almost tart at moments. Salty-tart. Very fresh, sharp, and stinging. Not a gentle aquatic, it’s aggressive. The sharpness is almost citrusy at times. This is simply delicious and enticing. So many layers that play peek-a-boo. Dry – salty sharp aquatic I don't know if I will end up with a big bottle of this. I like it, but I don't know if I love it; I think I'll have to try more of Beth's aquatics before I make up my mind. I'll definitely use the imp though.

    Moon Rose

Last night I tried this out for the first time, one swipe on the wrist. My nose is glued to my wrist because of the amazingly gorgeous scent, then five minutes later - GONE. Completely disappeared. I was heartbroken! However, this morning I decided to give it another try, so I lotioned up (maybe my dry skin ate the oil?), then slaaaaathered it on. It lasted all day! Woohoo! I'll definitely have to get a big bottle, as this needs to be really slathered on me. Anyway, review... In the bottle: A very light, soft, pale rose - not cloying or overpowering at all, as some roses can be. It definitely does have a wet, dewy smell. I almost think I smell apples in this too, which is wierd. Wet/Drydown: The sweet headiness that I expect from a rose is peeking through, but it settles down quickly. There's also a very slightly spicy-sweet floral - is that moonflower? I have no idea what moonflower smells like. The roses in this are definitely pale - white or very light pink, just opening. Dry: This is such a delicious, gentle, watery rose. It's incredibly calming and lovely, I can see this as an everyday scent. I LOVE the watery note over the gentle rose. It's the water vapor in the air on a humid day. Verdict: I'm SO glad I tried this one again, because I'm totally in love with Moon Rose. It's unbelievably delicious. I will definitely be getting a big bottle.

    Tiger Lily

In the bottle: warm, sweet, goldeny floral. Wet/Drydown: Ok, a lot of other people have said that this is a light scent - NOT SO MUCH. Rather, it's chokingly heavy. Seriously. It fumigated every room I walked through, and I only put one little swipe on one wrist. That said, the scent itself is very sweet and warm, definitely a "golden" feel. However, it smells a bit like a generic heavy floral perfume on me. As it dries, it does get lighter, but it's still much too heavy and sweet for me. Dry: This ends up lightening up quite a bit and becoming a lovely, sweet, golden-honey floral, but it just takes too long to be light enough for me. I like the scent, but it doesn't really speak to me. That combined with the fact that I'll likely suffocate anyone in a 12 mile radius when I wear this puts it in the swap pile.

    Loup Garou

In the imp: slightly sweet herbal wood, with just a hint of cool eucalyptus. Wet: I get strong juniper, which I love. It's a very wet, sappy smell. I get just the barest hint of eucalyptus peeking out once in a while, but I have to search for it - the scent is mostly warmer than eucalyptus. I also catch whiffs of something faintly lemony - galangal? Dry: Sadly, this goes totally powdery on me. I smell like baby powder. It makes me really sad, because I was really excited about this oil, and I LOVE the way it smells wet and in the imp. My skin just ate it right up and turned it into powder. Verdict: Alas, I cannot wear Loup Garou. I might save it for a room scent, as I do adore it, but I'll probably end up giving it to a male friend.

    Aureus

This is my first review, and my nose isn't nearly as educated as many here, but I'll give it my best shot. In the imp: deep, warm, resiny, amber, woody. Woody with a slightly stingy bite. Wet: woody! cut wood and wood sap. My dad is from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and Aureus smells exactly like my grandparents' garage and sauna (which was in the garage. They stored loads of firewood in there, but the sauna smell is really the primary image I'm getting. This smells like their sauna, but when it's cold, when it hasn't been used in a while - the wood that lights the sauna and just the barest hint of the metal barrel that's attached to the stove and heats the water. So very, very woody. Slightly pencil shavings, but SO delicious. Dry: Basically the same woody smell, but softened and sweetened. The bite is still there, but now it's just gently nibbling. edit to add that after a few hours, Aureus mellows into this incredibly warm, sweet amber. This is such a comforting scent, yet strengthening at the same time. SO lovely. I smell amazing! Overall: This would be a big bottle for the happy memories it invokes alone, but it smells glorious on me as well. I can't stop sniffing myself! My BPAL virginity was taken in such a sweet, wonderful (if slightly incestous) way. Definitely a 5ml.
