This one is sour citrus, all the way through, from the imp to dry on skin. No, thank you.

In the imp: This smells green and very refreshing, yet haunting Wet on skin: Same as in the imp Dry on skin: I'm getting a bare hint of something rosy. I'm not getting any hazelnut, though. I like this one. It makes me think of sitting outside, alone, when everyone else is inside doing their own thing. I do this from time to time. I'll be sitting there among the greenery with the sunlight streaming through the leaves, thinking of someone I knew several years ago. I think of things I did with this person, to the point that I wonder, did that really happen? It's a strange, surreal feeling. Not unpleasant, though I want a 5mL of this one.

Mmmm... Floral without being sickly sweet and cloying. This one doesn't seem to morph on me. The way it smells in the imp is pretty much how it smells wet and dry on my skin. It's nice But I wish it had more throw.

This smells familiar. It's like Pele in this regard - I don't know where or when I came across this scent. Hopefully it'll come to me. Speaking of Pele, Debauchery smells just like it, only more forceful. It's like Pele's older, sexier sister. I normally don't like earthy scents at all, but I think I love this scent! I might get a 5mL of it.

In the imp: I smelled something that reminds me of taffy, so that must be the plum. Wet on skin: I can pick up the flowers, but the plum is dominating. Dry on skin: As it dries, it becomes darker (as would be fitting ). The flowers are coming out more, and the plum is still there.
-
In the imp: It's quite fruity, with a faint musk undercurrent. Wet on skin: I can pick up on the honey, but something that smells like grape is dominating. Labdanum? Dry on skin: The faint musk is back, but I don't find any honey. The grape is still dominating. On me, this is like a more pungent "O"

In the imp: Yikes, vetivert Wet on skin: Yikes, vetivert. I can catch a glimpse of the honeysuckle now and then. Dry on skin: The vetivert calms down a bit, and the honeysuckle comes forward. I don't really know what black opium smells like, so I can't comment on that. This is quite a sharp scent. I like it, but it isn't me.

In the imp: Thick, dark, heavy floral Wet on skin: Same as in the imp, only warmer. Dry on skin: It gets lighter as it dries. It also gets this 'generic flowery perfume' smell to it.
-
In the imp: Strong floral Wet on skin: The gardenia is the dominant note. I'm not getting any vanilla. Dry on skin: Nothing but gardenia. It's nice, but not me.
-
I looooved Gluttony, so I knew I'd like Eat Me! In the imp: Cake! Wet on skin: Cake, vanilla, and wine. Yuuuuum! Dry on skin: The vanilla and currant are dominating, the cake has receded. I really like this scent, but it doesn't seem to have the throw or staying power of Gluttony.
-
In the imp: Hm.. it's pretty blended. I can't pick out any individual notes. Wet on skin: I can smell the magnolia and oleander, but the musk and spice are dominating. I'm not picking up on the mandarin yet. Dry on skin: Still no mandarin. If I wave my hand in front of my face, I smell the flowers. If I put my nose to my wrist, I smell the musk and spice. Interesing. Like it, but don't love it. I'll keep the imp and let it age, maybe that'll improve it.

In the imp: Kind of flowery, with a hint of vanilla. Wet on skin: I can pick up the vanilla easier, the sweetpea is fading, and I'm picking up on something sort of dry and musky.. I guess that's the amber? Or maybe the sandalwood.. Dry on skin: The vanilla seems to be receding again, and the sweetpea coming back. The amber/sandalwood is holding its own though. Like it, but don't love it. I'll let the imp age and see what that does. ETA: As it sits a bit longer, the vanilla comes back and mingles with the sweetpea. The amber and sandalwood have faded out. Nice!

In the bottle: It's pretty spicy, with a bare fruity undertone Wet on skin: same as in bottle Dry on skin: the spiciness has mellowed out, and the patchouli isn't terribly noticeable, thank goodness. It's very warm, but doesn't evoke lust in me. Meh.

Got this as a frimp from a forumite: In the imp - Whew! It's a slap in the face! It smells like a stronger version of those cinnamon-y, red-hot toothpicks. Wet on skin - same as in imp Dry on skin - it's gone! I guess my skin ate it. If I hold my wrist up to my nose and really inhale deeply and focus, I can smell what I assume is sandalwood. If I wave my hand in front of my face I can pick up the barest hint of... something like vanilla. I like it, but it has absolutely no staying power on me.

Got this as a frimp from a forumite: In the imp - a particularly light, fruity wine. Wet on skin - wine, musk, and patchouli Dry on skin - musk and patchouli. Too bad I don't like patchouli..

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
Phantasmagoria replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
Ahoy! It seems that my dad's favorite cologne is being discontinued. It's called Monsieur 2, made by Givenchy, comes in a clear bottle with a green lid. Does anybody know of any GCs that smell like this? -
Who are the authorized resellers?

Oh, I see. Thanks for the info -
Throughout this scent, all I got was a blend of sharp, bitter components. No bergamot, jasmine, neroli, etc. Too bad.
-
In the imp: WHoa, something sharp and bitter. Must be the vetiver.. Wet on skin: Same as in the imp. Not pleasant. Dry: Cinnamon + vetiver. No thank you..

I was looking at the GC items in the Amazon store. There are only a few oils - do they cycle through the GC? Or if you want something that isn't listed, can you request it? -
In the imp: Ooooooohh yuuuuuuuuum! Wet on skin: Cake! Dry on skin: Now it smells like some kind of cinnamon-y pastry. While it's nice, I prefer it wet. Good thing I have a locket! ETA: The cinnamon smell has died down. Now it's more like a... praline, hazelnut, snickerdoodle cookie smell. Even though I've been wearing a slight smear of this on one wrist for a couple of hours, it's still wafting up and getting my attention. This scent has amazing throw and staying power! I need a big bottle of it!

In the imp: Sweet, choking, floral Wet on skin: Like in the imp, sweet, choking, floral Dry on skin: Whatever is in this that's so strangling, it's gone when the perfume dries. The other components can come out and be known. It's really nice - but it doesn't last. After 5 minutes, it's gone. But isn't that like flowers - to be ephemeral?

Severin to me smells just like fruit loops. And chewing tobacco, in the later stage (no, I haven't ever used chewing tobacco. I just know how it smells). I'll probably have to give this more than one run to see if the chewing tobacco smell was just a fluke.

Mmmm... normally I don't like scents with musk, but this one isn't too bad. I can pick out the vanilla and lemon/lemon verbena. There's a bit of sharpness to it. Wearing the scent behind my ears corrects that though, so I only really smell the vanilla and softened lemon.

I was really hoping I would like Persephone, but I don't. If one could make a rose-flavored candy, and make it sickly sweet, it would be like Persephone. It isn't quite so bad when it dries, though.
