Got this as a frimp. Wet: strong cologney musky smell...do not like it at this point. Dry: still musky, but Amber and myrrh smells are coming through (Amber is not listed, but I am getting a light amber scent). This is much better so again bpal surprises me again with a much different dry down than one would expect from the wet stage so, again, let the oil dry before making a final decision! Throw is nice, my bf could smell me and he thought it was great on me, but lasting power stinks. It only lasted 3 hours so I will have to re apply frequently or use a fixative balm next time I use it. I will not buy a full bottle, but will probably get another imp when I run out.

Wet:eucalyptus, slight pine, herbally scent...dark and nice. Dry: pine, orris, cedar, and musk are amped like crazy...nice, but cologne-like at this point. I like it, but don't love it; however, the bf thinks its great on me . Staying power is 6-7 hours on me.

Got this as a frimp. Wet:dark floral with incense...like it so far. Dry: still a dark floral with more incense amping...love it! The staying power seems to be good, had it on for 7 hours and could still slightly smell it. I will probably get more imps of this.

Got this as a frimp. Wet:fruity roses...sweet and bright. Dry: still rosey, but loses the fruity edge and mellows with sweet lotus. Had it on for 13 hours now and can still slightly smell it, so staying power is good. won't buy a bottle since now it feel a little too heady.

Wet: tea scent with light peony...nice at this stage, but very little throw. This is good if you don't like strong perfume. Dry: barely there soapy, peony tea scent...no good...fades very quickly. It only lasted for 2 hours. This would be great if you are not allowed strong scents or perfume at work though! Got it as a frimp and will not be purchasing a bottle.

Got this as a frimp. Wet:fruity, light sandalwood, and lily. Nice at this stage. Dry: lily...lily...lily..and little powdery and soapy...if it stayed at the wet stage I would love it, but like this..it is not awful, just not my favorite...

got the 2013 version. I love it since I love resins especially in cold weather. wet: goes on strong with a deep resiny sweetness. DRY:still has the resiny sweetness, but the patchouli and other ingredients add a woody, cologny feel to it. the bf says it's manly and yes, it would be fantastic on a man, but I think it is definitely sexy for a woman as well. happy I got a bottle!

got the 2013 version. very rosey and vanilla wet scent with a strong slush note, but dries to a predominant rose scent with a light touch of vanilla. wear time for me was 6-8 hours. love it a lot!

Wet: mold and rotting vegetable...sickly sweet rotting smell (did not like this at all!!!). Dry: salty ocean waves, but at night during a bad winter storm at sea...awesome....with a hint of menthol that clears up the sinuses and then I can smell desiccated black coconut (not the sweet fleshy kind). I thought I finally came across a bpal I hated, but it turns out to be magical so give it a fair try before you wash it off!

Pretty scent, but insanely peachy on me, like peach nectar sweet. I layer it on top of stronger solid perfumes that are too masculine or bitter and it is perfect to feminize the scent.

Wet it smells lightly gingery with a tea and powder note. Dry you can smell the skin musk and tea more strongly with the ginger fading and only a slight powderiness remaining. It is a rather ethereal scent with light throw and slight staying power. I'm happy that I have it, but I must use a fixative for it to stay longer than a couple of hours.

Warm, cozy scent with the dry coconut (I love the dry coconut scent much more than juicy fresh coconut that is overwhelming) blooming on warm skin. The musk and orris ground the coconut and keep it from being foodie. The sandalwood is not strong enough to turn it into cologne. Love this, got it as an imp and will buy a full vial soon.

starts off slightly metallic (not a fan of this, but it is minimal and only lasts for a short time). On the skin it opens to a deep woody warmth and then as the skin heats it up, the honey laurel comes out as a light, sweet honey scent that is not headache inducing at all. There is a slight spice to this honey scent that makes it unique to my small bpal collection and I am happy to have it. As of this moment, it has been on for 3 1/2 hours and it still going strong.

Got this as a frimp. In the imp it smells acrid and strong, like very strong incense...no sweetness at all! On the skin it becomes a little less acrid and becomes a strong burning incense smell. It is not a sweet cinders smell like other "burnt" scents I have, but rather realistic and bold. Over the day, it becomes less intense and blends well with my skin chemistry even though I am a female and this is very masculine. There is a spiciness, like being in a Middle-eastern store, that opens when warm on the skin. It lasted over 10 hours and strangely enough it made me have a sense of power and confidence if that makes any sense. Very interesting blend that I will probably buy a full vial of later.

Got this as a frimp. In the decant it smells fruity and rosy...sweet. On the skin, I smell honey(?), roses, lemon candy, and a tiny bit of rosemary. Dries to a honey rose scent on me. I like it a lot!! Will probably be getting a full bottle since I think it will be great for summer and spring. Got another imp from a forum member that looks aged, so I thought I would compare an aged imp to the lab fresh imp I reviewed previously. I'm not sure how old this is....maybe 2-3 years or so? It's definitely thicker than my fresher imp. The lemon candy and honey scent is very light now, with the rose and rosemary taking the lead. It smells more perfumey than The fresher one. It's nice, but I like the fresher imp better since the rosemary doesn't take over that one. Therefore, I'll probably just keep several imps of this instead of a bottle that will age.

Got an imp...love it!!!! Strong, heady, incensey with a hit of vanilla that ties it all together. Long lasting ~10 hours or so. Will get several bottles! Doesn't cause headaches for me!

Blackened, rotted oak wood blanketed in moss and choked by a cloak of grasping ivy. I have a bottle of the 2007 blend. In the bottle it just smells like dark ivy...very green and alive. On the skin it gains a smoked wood smell from skin heat and it dries to a dead greenery scent like plants in the beginning of cold weather. I like it a lot since I don't have anything else like it.

Stimulating Sassafras Strengthener
Jangzonrice replied to flyingpizza's topic in Doc Constantine's Pharmacopoeia
Got this as an Imp. At first it smells unpleasant, sharp, and medicinal even though I love root beer and sassafras soda. When applied it gains a warmer spicier edge from the skin...much better! It dries to a vanilla root beer (the good stuff, not the cheap crap)! Not sure if I will get a full bottle, but will probably buy another imp when I run out. It lasted about 10-12 hours on me. -
Got the 2013 version. Starts off snowy with grapefruit, lemon (like candy, not cleaner), and a little menthol. Dries and fades to a light vanilla lemon with a bit of dryer sheet included (I like dryer sheets though!). I get a bit of mint every now and then. Overall for me a winner!
