I'll second The Chattering Raven! Also, Raven Black Hair Gloss from Weenies 2016 is so good. (I also collect corvid scents.)

Pumpkin? Food and drink: Yes please. "Pumpkin spice", "real pumpkin", or both...all the things are good. Scents: I got a lot of pumpkin scents last year, so I'm going easier on them this season. I would enjoy trying a few more, though. Decor: I have some cute pumpkin candleholders from last year. In general, I'm not looking for large pieces of home decor because I already have a lot of stuff. Booze? Yes please! I like craft beer (especially stouts and porters, plus interesting flavors), cider, mead, peaty whisk[e]y, bourbon, absinthe, red wine (especially merlots and malbecs) and rieslings. My partner has similar tastes, too. Want anything from Yellowstone? Be it postcards, key chains, shot glasses, pint glasses, or huckleberry what have you? I've never had huckleberry stuff before, I don't think. That sounds good! I know there is a question about "decorating style", but if you're comfortable, could you should us some photos of your spaces? For those of us who like to art and craft, it can be nice to have a visual sense of decorating style! I'd rather not post pictures of my space, although I'm very happy with the way it's looked since we did massive cleaning last fall. One of my friends said our dining room looked like a medieval feast hall and I'd say that's accurate (in small scale). Lots of vintage wood details, some handmade furniture, and all kinds of projects around. Ok, so medieval feast hall meets maker culture. For those of you who don't drink alcohol, can you specify if you live with any drinkers or ever have alcohol on hand for guests, vs. abstaining and preferring not to have it around at all? I do drink. Are you a fan of the TV show Penny Dreadful? I've never seen it. What are your coffee and tea preferences? Do you prefer one, the other, both, or neither (and if it's neither, what about things like hot cider and cocoa)? Loose leaf or bags, whole bean or ground? Is caffeine OK? Any gadgetry you're in need of? Any brands or flavors that you particularly love, loathe, or want to try? I tend to drink more tea at home and more coffee at work (but I drink a fair amount of tea at work too.) I *love* caffeine. I drink a lot of black tea, but I enjoy green and white tea, and I *love* oolong. I like flavored tea, and I'm learning to appreciate plain teas from different places (like the different Darjeeling tea estates.) I also love yerba mate, guayusa, rooibos, honeybush, hibiscus, and other herbal teas. The only thing I don't drink a lot of are camomile teas and other kinds of "bedtime" teas. I drink loose tea and tea in bags, and I have enough gadgetry for that. I also enjoy coffee. I really like dark roasts without cream or sugar, but I also enjoy the lighter roasts because they have more caffeine. Any coffee I get would need to be ground for french press or Turkish style - I don't have a grinder at home. Hot cocoa and cider - also yummy! I really like mulled cider in the fall and winter. I enjoy tea from Teabox, Just Add Honey, Adagio, David's, TeaGschwendner, the Coffee and Tea Exchange, Design-a-Tea...I'm spoiled - there are a lot of tea shops in Chicago! I've had a couple of things from Lupicia in a swap box and I would love to try more. Also from Blue Raven Teas. What's your sense of humor like? Do you enjoy puns? Play on words? Dirty humor? Dry humor? Who are some of your favorite comedians? All of the above! I tend towards a little goofy and surreal, and dark comedy too. Monty Python, Terry Pratchett, Horrible Histories, the Muppet Show (haven't seen the new one yet), Invader Zim... Do you like board games? If so, which ones? Traditional or more unique? (like Settlers of Catan, Small World, Red Dragon Inn, etc) I like Settlers, Forbidden Island, Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards, as well as card games like Fluxx, Exploding Kittens, and Cards Against Humanity. (OK, now you know my sense of humor. ) Is there anything that you specifically do NOT want to receive? Large home decor items (although storage is *always* useful) Plain or fun socks? Fun socks always! Although I wear boots a lot of the time, so my socks aren't always visible. I like stripey socks, geeky socks, knee socks, over the knee socks, and sock thigh highs. Name one (or as many as you would like) thing you would like to learn more about? I need to learn more about programming Arduino microcontrollers. I'd like to learn more about electronic circuits. What one thing you would like to do more of Dance! I sometimes go to a freeform dance event in Chicago, but I'd like to take lessons in modern again. What are some things that fascinate you? Or, What would you like to know more about? Space, planetary science, history, cultures...I'd love to have more in-depth knowledge of 3D printing, and also business strategy. Would you like any cookie butter (just to be clear, store-bought, not home-made, and does contain wheat since it's, y'know, cookie butter)? I've never had cookie butter, but I have a sweet tooth of doom, so that sounds great. Is there any particular piece (or pieces) of art (painting, photograph, etc) that speaks to you in some way? I love Pre-Raphaelite art. Waterhouse's Lady of Shalott paintings are wonderful, and I like "The Magic Circle" a lot too. (I'm getting a bottle of the scent. ) Also, Mucha's "Dance". The carved stone on the threshold of Newgrange (Bru na Boinne). La Tene Celtic jewelry (Ok, we're veering away from paintings here. I'm often drawn to 3D works of art, or at least pieces with texture.) What kinds of things would you like from the Lilith BPAL or BPTP update (or are you joining a decant circle?) I joined a decant circle. Do you want to received knit or crocheted items? If so, could you describe or even link to a couple of items similar to what you would like to receive? That would be great! I would enjoy knit or crocheted arm warmers, fingerless gloves, leg warmers (that's a thing, right?), or plushies/amigurumi. I love handmade stuff! What thing do you want to do (or get) but you keep putting off for one reason or another? I'd like to bake some cookies. (No really, that was the first thing I thought of.) Would you like anything from Lush? I'd love to try their soap and bath bombs. Plus I'm still looking for good shampoo and conditioner, so I'm up for trying theirs. Do you prefer hand-made or store-bought? Either is great, depending on what my witch is up for. Really, the coolest thing is the thought put into the item. Please don't feel like you have to spend lots of money *or* time on me. SPICY! Scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being "oh, that's a bit too much black pepper for me" and 10 being "ghost pepper? scorpion pepper? I laugh at these! I love as much heat as you can throw my way!" Where are you? 6-7. I love spicy food, but I like it to have flavor beyond "tastes like burning!" What is your BPAL "Holy Grail"? Glowing Vulva, and a bottle of Hesiod's Phoenix (I have two decants). I'm interested in Banshee Beat/OGBB too. Analog or Digital? Or Both? Books: Analog Music: Both Fabrication/Making: Both What scents from other perfume companies are you really wanting to have in your collection and or are just really wanting to test? Companies like NAVA, Arcana, Solstice Scents, Possets, Haus of Gloi etc.....? I've got a long non-BPAL wish list... right now, I'd particularly enjoy bottles of Subatomic Whiskey Particle from ZOMG Smells, Amber Ombre #2 from NAVA, and a custom from Haus of Gloi - Blood Orange, Dark Patchouli, Tonka, and White Amber. A lot of times I'm totally happy with sample sizes, though. Do you have an affinity for any specific animals? Hawks and ravens Kitchen Needs or Wants? I could use a salad spinner and a dutch oven. Makeup! Do you like it, would you want some? If so what brands do you like to wear? I do wear makeup - more than I used to, for sure. I recently went to Sephora to learn to do a professional look, so I'm pretty covered in the "subtle" department. I would enjoy some fun mineral eyeshadow (I already have Urban Decay primer) and really good black eyeliner. Chocolate fiends ahoy! What kind of chocolate do you like? Do you like any other things in it or just plain good ole chocolate? I like pretty much all good chocolate. I especially like dark chocolate - I think the darkest I've had is 88% cacao, which is so delicious. I like plain chocolate and chocolate with fruit, nuts, and spices in it. I like truffles. I also like unusual chocolate, like chocolate with bacon in it. (Yummy!) Would you be opposed to receiving a ton of Halloween themed items? I don't know about a "ton", as storage space is an issue, but I do love Halloween and would enjoy some Halloween stuff. Would you be interested in any special little thing I might be able to pick up from the Great Lakes Bat Festival this Saturday? Both Janell Cannon (author of Stellaluna and other kids' books) and Fiona Reid (illustrator for lots of animal field guides) will be there, so would you possibly be interested in something like an autographed copy of Stellaluna or one of Cannon's or Reid's other books? Or something from the Organization for Bat Conservation, like a shirt or other swag? I know this is past, but bats are pretty cute! What items from the Weenie update interest you, should you have to option of getting anything as a gift from your Witch??? Would you be ok with decants, or bottles? I've got decants of a bunch of stuff on the way, and a bottle of The Magic Circle. I would still enjoy decants of October, Sonnet D'Automne, The Unquiet Grave, The White Witch, Dead Leaves, Bourbon Vanilla, and Myrrh, and Dead Leaves, Honey, and Oudh. What's your favorite scary movie? Or movies, either way. If you don't like horror, what are your favorite movies to watch this time of year? I'm about to go see Crimson Peak, and am excited about this! I used to not like horror, but I'm starting to a lot more. I like smart, psychological, atmospheric, and Gothic stuff. Also funny, potentially in a twisted way. (I loved Cabin in the Woods, for example.) I've seen a lot of bad horror movies too, especially the kind of things that get MST3K'ed. There's a horror theater company in Chicago called Wildclaw that I really like, too. Blu-ray or DVD? I think I can play both. Game systems - console or computer? Mac/PC? Which console? I really don't play video or computer games right now. My partner has a PS3, but also doesn't have a lot of time to game.[/b] Are you dressing up for Halloween and if so do you need any accessories for if? I'm going to be a Jedi, I think. I don't have a lightsaber yet![/b] Talk to me about bags, what kinds do you like? Sizes and styles? I just bought a fairly large purse - the kind of thing that I could put a book into, so I don't have to carry a separate backpack. I previously had avoided bags that were too large because I didn't want them to get too heavy. I'm good on bags for now, I think. What are your favorite fandoms and do you want to receive anything related to such? Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Invader Zim, Buffy, Angel, Firefly/Serenity, Hunger Games, Divergent...yes please! What are you planning to order from the Weenies update?[/b] [What I have on the way: From BPAL: 5mls: The Magic Circle Decants: Second Spring The Vampire Bride Apple III Bonfire Graveyard Dirt Redux A Witch Riding on a Dragon Depart Pour Le Sabbat La Femme de Satan Pan Twardowski and the Devil From BPTP: Decants of all the hair glosses Decant of Dr. Janice I would still enjoy decants of October, Sonnet D'Automne, The Unquiet Grave, The White Witch, Dead Leaves, Bourbon Vanilla, and Myrrh, Dead Leaves, Honey, and Oudh, The Witches' Rout, La Ronde du Sabbat, and Portrait of an Unidentified Man as Mephistopheles The Last Huzzah of the NY Renaissance Faire happens this weekend and I'm going! Is there anything you might want? (Besides a turkey leg, which won't ship well!) I'm guessing Ren Faire season is done everywhere, but in case of similar shopping, I would enjoy a chemise to go with my wench wear, a tankard and strap for my belt, and jewelry, incense, and witchy stuff is always good.

I have tried Prague, The Reaper and the Flowers, Black Lily, and Cobra Lily. Out of those four, I would say that Black Lily (on my skin at least) is the closest to a pure lily scent. Cobra Lily is great if you want a more "green" scent. The other two are lovely florals, but they don't scream "lily" to me.I also recommend trying a number of them, because your skin chemistry is probably different than mine.

1. I wonder what a potential witchee would think about being bombarded with PUMPKINS in various formats. Because my current obsession just may last long enough to be of use in spoiling.....but I know wouldn't be appreciated by everyone. Would you appreciate it?!? I love pumpkins in food, beverages, scents, and home scents. I've been enjoying Sin in the Pumpkin Patch and Moroccan Pumpkin Patch lately - that's the kind of pumpkin I like in fragrances for me. Pumpkin decor is fine as long as its small. "Witchy" pumpkin decor would be cool! 2. I currently have a CSA and my significant other is perpetually out of town for work, so I've been doing a lot of canning and baking with my vegetables. How do people feel about canned good (pickles, salsa, etc) and vegetal baked goods (squash bread, zucchini bread). I love zucchini bread and zucchini muffins. I like pickled things like kimchee and picked ginger, but I generally don't like standard dill pickles. Other canned goods are great, though. 3. Trading Post wants? Implacable Beautiful Tyrant Hair Gloss, Amber and Patchouli Hair Gloss, House of Unquenchable Fire Room Spray, Alchemical Laboratory Room Spray, Phoenix Steamworks tee-shirt, and orange, black, and white stockings. 4. What direct sellers do you not like and would prefer not to get things from? And also feel free to list any retail brands you really don't like. I try to get stuff from indie and small businesses when I can, but I don't have strong preferences otherwise. Something being "designer" or not isn't a big deal to me. 5. How about y'alls coffee and tea preferences? I love coffee but currently don't make it at home. Starbucks Via is great though. And tea...I *love* tea. I don't drink chamomile, but everything else is fair game. I drink the most black tea, but I love chai, mate, oolong, rooibos, white, green, herbal...all the tea, all the time. I'd love to try guayusa and yaupon as well. I like stuff from the Coffee and Tea Exchange, Adagio, David's Tea, Teavana, Design-a-Tea, and lots of others. 6. Do you cook? Would kitchen accessories make you happy? I cook some. I could use a salad spinner. 7. How do people feel about creative endeavours? Would you like to receive one? Or supplies to make your own? What do you like? Drawings, stories, poems? All of those sound wonderful, plus any other art, craft, or creative outlet you do. I love creativity and seeing others' creativity, so I will definitely be an appreciative audience. 8. What culture or country (doesn’t have to be modern) do you feel an innate connection with? What about it makes it special to you? I've loved ancient Egyptian stuff since I was little. I'm not sure what captured my imagination about it at first - maybe the art and jewelry. I love the incredible diversity of jewelry and art that has come out of the Indian subcontinent. (Sense a theme?) Ancient Egyptian religion and myth and Hinduism also intrigue me. Also, although I know it's a broad (and linguistic) category, I have an interest in Celtic cultures, which began because of art and jewelry (again!) and also fierce women in history and myth. I've had a longtime interest in Medieval and Renaissance Europe (and the Middle East during the same time period) and have been feeling curious about the Society for Creative Anachronism lately. 9. Is there any sort of art commission you would like: cartoony, pin-up, fantasy, realistic, etc? If so, what subject would you like drawn (a picture of you, a character, a loved one or pet)? All of those art styles sound good. I would love to have some artwork of the characters I write about - please contact me in some way if that sounds interesting or fun. 10. What do you find yourself doing for fun in your free time? What are your main hobbies and interests? I like to make things - jewelry, crocheting, books...I love to make things using digital fabrication machines like laser cutters and 3D printers, and to hang out in spaces where I can use them. I like to hang out with friends - I'm pretty big on low-key, geeky conversation. I like museums, parks, and exploring places. I read, write, and dance too. 11. Table-top gaming? If yes, what kind, edition, etc? Gaming accessories you long for? I used to, but I don't have a group right now. I miss it, though. I used to play D&D 3.5, White Wolf, Iron Heroes, and some homebrew stuff. I especially like old Mage (Mage: The Ascension Third Edition) and both versions of Changeling. 12. DVD movies or games that you wish would magically appear in your hands? Can they be used, through Amazon? Used would be fine. I would love to have both Despicable Me movies and both Hobbit movies. 13. What kind of snacks or candy from other countries/states would you like to try? I'd love to try green tea kit kats and other Japanese candy. I've also had a few Tim Tams and would like to try more. 14. Do you have a favorite internet meme, character or pop culture fandom? I like Grumpy Cat and lolcats in general. 15. Do you have a Facebook profile (or other social media) that you are comfortable linking to aid your witch in stalking? Please note whether you are willing to add BPALers as friends. I don't do much with my facebook. 16. Anybody interested in something from RCCC, whether it's con-exclusive merch or from a particular exhibitor or artist? Seems like it's too late for this one, but if you happened to pick up something nifty, that's cool too! 17. How important to you is regular contact / chatter with your witch? I like occasional contact - my schedule was severely busy in September and I sometimes suck at replying to email, so I definitely understand and don't expect constant chatter at all. 18. Do you like puzzles/riddles/treasure hunts and that sort of thing? Treasure hunts and scavenger hunts are fun! I'm less into things like crossword puzzles and Sudoku. 19. If you were to receive music, would you want a physical CD or digital versions? Either is fine! 20. What’s a current problem/annoyance you have that could be remedied but you haven’t had time to address it? I need to get some good makeup suitable for a professional look, and tips for how to apply it. 21. How do you feel about having some sort of trinket to carry around for good luck/wishes? i.e. a small figurine, symbol, card, coin… I like that sort of thing - I like gifts with good/helpful intent. 22. Are you superstitious about anything? Any things you can't have in your house for that reason--bad associations? As long as it didn't come from toxic people who used to be in my life, we should be fine! 23. For the vegetarians and vegans: How do you feel about things (say, marshmallows or gummy candy) made with vegan gelatin or other typically-animal-derived-but-not-in-this-instance products? N/A - I'm an omnivore. (Possibly an omnomnomnivore.) 24. Ok, so we've covered pumpkin. How do you feel about the other fall classic – apples? I like apple scents - bonus points for dark, spicy, sophisticated, or sexy ones. (I don't have a good BPAL example yet, but I love Black Apple from Violette Market, and The Halfling's Party from Deep Midnight is just foodie goodness.) 25. Do you have any fabric or skin-contact aversions? Nope! 26. How do you feel about Christmas/Yule ornaments? I enjoy (secular) Christmas and (pagan) Yule, but my partner and I haven't put up our tree the past couple of years because the snake cage is where we used to put it. Some garland for the snake cage (outside), perhaps? 27. How do you feel about Hello Kitty, and Hello Kitty accessories (including mugs, cups, etc)? Hello Kitty is cute. I like cute things, and I *really* like darkly cute things. 28. If you had a week free where you could learn anything, with no financial restrictions, what would you want to study? I would love to learn silversmithing and silver soldering, or scuba diving. Possibly also CNC machining. 29. Do you enjoy poetry? Who are your favorite poets and what type of subject matter do you like? I love poetry. I like Pablo Neruda, Walt Whitman, Robert Frost, Ursula K. LeGuin, and haiku, both traditional and modern. 30. Would you enjoy receiving something related to a favorite Disney character? I generally like Pixar, especially all the Toy Story movies. I'm not as big on Disney as on other fandoms, though. 31. How do you feel about cute things as decorations or accessories? (Example: Would you enjoy this stationery - or do you prefer elegant/creepy/neutral stuff?) I like cute things. I also like darkly cute and elegantly creepy stuff, especially for Halloween. (Or all year 'round - who am I kidding? ) 32. What is something you'd really like to recieve from your witch? Please be as specific as possible - no, "Oh whatever she thinks is fine!" I would love some BPTP hair gloss (decants are always fine), NAVA samples (especially vanilla and amber scents), steampunk stuff, TAL decants (from my wishlist), and cute socks. I would love ogham staves, too (see below). Tea and chocolate are also always good. 33. Go to your music source of choice - on random or shuffle setting if possible - & share with us the 10 most recent songs/artists. Tori Amos, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Soundtrack, BT (from Trance Classics compilation), Achillea (from The Celtic Lounge), Solas, Sarah McLachlan, my friends playing woodwinds, O Brother Where Art Thou Soundtrack, Mary Jane Lamond, Gipsy Kings. Which is a pretty representative selection. 34. Tarot cards, rune stones and/or other divination tools yay or nay? I love divination tools. I currently read runes and tarot. I like the rune set I have, but I'm always up for more tarot decks. Right now I have the Intuitive, Thoth, Robin Wood, Steampunk, Shadowscapes, Science, and Tarot of the 78 Doors decks. I'd really, *really* like to learn to read ogham, and to have a set of ogham staves. A nice pendulum would be cool, too. 35. Do you have a Celeb crush? or someone who you just can't get enough of....other than your SO Not really, although I love the Mythbusters quite a lot. (Including Tory, Grant, and Keri, who will be leaving the show.) The Mythbusters are part of what inspired me to get into maker culture. 36. Glitter? are you okay with it, or hate it like the plague? I love glitter, provided it stays in place. (So glittery nail polish is great.) 37. If there was another time period other than now that described your style/aesthetics, what would it be? I love Steampunk, and Cyberpunk, and Celtic Nouveau Cyberpunk (which I pretty much made up.) Medieval and Renaissance Europe made some pretty neat stuff too. 38. If you had to pick one or two quotes to live by, what would it be and why? One of mine is "Carpe Diem." The other one is "Dare Mighty Things", and the Teddy Roosevelt quote it came from: "Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those timid spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." It's a good reminder when I get too perfectionistic or get caught in imposter syndrome. 39. Do you prefer physical books? CD books? eBooks? If eBooks do you have preferred format, kindle/nook/kobo/PDF/ePub/ect? eAudio? I prefer physical books, unless it's something my partner and I would both enjoy listening to in the car, in which case whatever format Audible downloads are in. 40. Smut! Yes or no? If yes, what kink, er, kind? Yes! Please email me for details if you're curious. 41. Ebooks! Yes or no? I'd have to read them on my (desktop) computer, which I can do, but I prefer something I can take places. 42. If you were to get a custom bottle from House of Gloi made for you what notes would create your perfect blend? Dark patchouli, tonka, white amber, and blood orange 43. If your witch were to take a photograph (or paint or whatever) of something just for you, what would it be? Landscape? Flower? Critter? Something to illustrate a favorite quote? Doors, archways, and/or courtyards. Get liminal with it! 44. What is your favorite Halloween animal or other symbol/decoration? I like black cats and ravens 45. Makeup, especially of the indie variety. Nail polish, nail wraps, eyeshadow, lipstick/gloss, etc. Y/N? Specific preferences (color, finish, product, brand, etc.)? Yes please! All of the above. I recently got back into nail polish. I haven't tried nail wraps yet, but they sound fun. (Although keep in mind - I keep my nails very short.) I'd also love some (mineral?) makeup that would be good for an everyday professional look. (And advice on how to wear it.) And eyeshadow primer. 46. How do you feel about profanity and off-color humor? I love it! I can be very profane, although not at work. 47. I make hairsticks...would you like/use them? Yes please! I have long, thick, wavy hair. 48. Does anyone here LARP? If so, what kind of LARP? And what kind of character do you play? I don't LARP anymore. At one point, I played a Virtual Adept in a Mage LARP. She was a big fan of cyberpunk and technology that affects the physical world. I've sometimes joked that if she was in Chicago now she'd be hanging out with my friends, so anything she'd enjoy would probably be something I'd like in real life. 49. Would you completely freak out if I sent you a chocolate covered scorpion or some other food oddity? This includes things like 'bacon powder' from thinkgeek.com. I love odd food, although I would not enjoy eating a scorpion specifically. Ant candy is fine. 50. This has kind of been covered, but, are you ok with receiving canned jam (from a veteran jammer!) and if so, what flavors would you like and not like? That sounds great! I really like berries and also peaches and apricots. Spicy jam is cool too. Really, anything except pickles and olives. 51. Let's talk nail polish. What colors do you love? Hate? Which brands are you dying to try? Have you ever used indies? Do you like glitter? Any textures to avoid (glitter, sand, etc)? I like jewel tones, dark colors, and GLITTER! I'm not as big on straight-up creme polishes, but everything else is great. I like OPI and Zoya for non-indies. (I could really use some OPI top and base coat.) For indies, so far I've tried and enjoyed Dolly's, Comit Vomit, and Starlight and Sparkles. I'm always up for trying more indies and other brands you'd recommend, as long as they're 3- or 5-free. Right now, I'm especially looking for purples, and magenta with silver sparkles. Oh yeah, and I could probably use something more subtle for professional wear too. 52. How do you feel about getting a special Halloween plushie? That would be great! 53. I'm in Japan, anything specific you might want from the land of the rising sun? Tea, incense, candy, origami paper, and kawaii stuff all sound fun. 54. Are there any GC scents that you know you love, but for whatever reason, keep putting off buying bottles of? Dee and No. 93 Engine. 55. I know not everyone likes Lush products, but if you do, which Lush items would you like to get from your Witch? I'd love to get some soap or bath bombs. (Especially bath bombs.) 56. Is there anywhere (in the US) that you are dying to get away to? Also when would you be able to get away. Would this even be something you were interested in? If so, go look at the Southwest sale for routes and dates and times. I'd love to go to New Orleans, but I'm really not looking to travel much the rest of this year. 57. If you are ok with receiving t-shirts, what size are you, do you prefer tissue tees, normal crew tees, babydoll etc? I like normal crew tees and babydoll tees. I take a large in standard unisex crew tees and probably a 2X in babydoll tees. 58. THINKGEEK! Who loves it - do you have a wishlist on there?? What are some things you are jonesing for on there for under $20? I love Thinkgeek, although I don't have a wishlist on there. Really, anything related to my fandoms - Matrix, Star Wars (original) Lord of the Rings, Firefly/Serenity (especially Kaylee), science (especially radioactivity and space), and zombies would be great 59. Zombies, yes or no? Yes! Umm, but not an actual zombie apocalypse please. 60. Would you like arm warmers/fingerless gloves? If so, what length? just beyond the wrist, almost to the elbow, full sleeves? Just beyond the wrist or almost to the elbow would be great. In related arm items, I would also enjoy opera gloves and vambraces/bracers. 61. Do you feel a particular affinity for a specific animal/s? Hawks (especially redtails), squirrels, jackals, ravens, mountain lions, sharks. 62. Anyone have any Paintbox Soapworks loves? ALL THE PAINTBOX! I love her soaps and lotions. I've got a couple of Sorbetto Samples (but wouldn't mind more) and I haven't tried the Bath Streusels yet, but want to. Oh yes, and the scent balms. Love them! I recently ordered Beet It, Blackbird, and Guy Fawkes soaps, but wouldn't be averse to more. The next ones I want to have big bars of are Cyprus and Lavender Truffle, and Punkie NIght is great too. 63. How would you feel if your witch or a minion of your witch showed up in person at your house with goodies? Thrilled? Annoyed? Completely creeped out? That would be cool, as long as I knew ahead of time it was happening. 64. Do you have a ravelry account? Tell me about your yarn obsessions. I have an account as TheGarnet, but I haven't done a lot with it. I hand crochet and machine knit. I love to crochet. I recently discovered Noro yarn and I love it. For the funeral home job, I would highly recommend Mr. Ibis. For one thing, the character works at a funeral home. It's very soft, calming, light, and long-lasting.

Rose-ampers discuss. What rose scents can you wear?
The_Garnet replied to Nymph87's topic in Recommendations
I amp rose like crazy. It's one of my favorite notes, but I do sometimes feel wary of buying more rose blends because I don't want them all to just smell like ROSE!!!! on me. With that said, I don't amp the rose in Godfather Death (I'm not sure I even smell it) or Wanda, and The Raptures and Roses of Vice is a very balanced and lovely scent on my skin as well. -
Feed Me and Fill Me With Pleasure has a lovely honey amber note.

When your favorite GC blends are discontinued
The_Garnet replied to darklorelei's topic in Recommendations
I second Crowley & would also recommend... The Bow & Crown of Conquest: Sage, carnation and cedar with lavender, vanilla, white musk and leather. I'll second the recommendation for Bow & Crown. I also really like Dee - to me, it's in a similar scent family to Casanova. It smells more spicy on my partner than it does on me, but it's a great scent either way. -
Namaste smells like one of my favorite incense shops.
-
I love High-Strung Daisies from the GC. It smells very pink and perky on me.

Source: Imp bought from a lovely forumite - thank you! When I first put this on, it smells like lemon (verbena, I'm guessing) and cedar. I love cedar as a scent, but it rarely lasts a long time on me. After a bit (10-30 minutes, ish), this becomes a gorgeous amber and oud scent. "Quiet" is a word that comes to mind for me with the scent, but it's not quite accurate. "Glowing" is appropriate - not glowing like a lightbulb or an LED, but (just like the description) like firelit polished brass. It doesn't smell literally metallic on me, though. It lasts about 8 hours on me, fading to a powdery resiny smell at the end. Verdict - another winner from the Steamworks collection! I buy very, very few bottles, and I'm not sure if this will be one of them. I will use up my imp for sure though, and might buy another.

My first review! Whee! This is the 2013 version. Source: Decant circle I'm glad Beth brought this one back - as a radiation and nuclear history geek, I had to try it. In the vial: Cold aquatics with some mint in the background Ozone and aquatics with me are hit and miss, often with more misses. My skin chemistry seems to make things smell sweet, and a lot of times ozone and aquatics end up smelling like Frebreze on me, which I really dislike. But I love the *idea* of many ozone/aquatic scents. Let's see how this goes. On my skin, the mint starts coming out. When I smell close to my wrist, it feels like it's opening up my sinuses a bit. As it dries down, it smells like cold aquatics and mint. There is something about this that smells not just clean, but *sterile*. It's the different between a pristine mountain stream and a spacecraft assembly clean room. This one makes me think of the clean room. This continues smelling like ozone, cold aquatics, and a bit of mint, and it lasts for a good long time. At least seven hours - then I took a shower. I buy very, very few bottles, and I won't be needing a bottle of this. But I'm glad I tried it, and I will definitely use up the decant. It's perfect for winter, but I can also see enjoying it during the summer, especially on very hot days.

Best BPALs for SUMMER - is it hot, sweltering, sticky outside?
The_Garnet replied to Donnababe's topic in Recommendations
It's cold and snowy outside right now, but I can think about summer. I normally like heavy scents pretty much year round - this year is the first that I've really paid any attention to "seasonally appropriate" scents. If it's 90 degrees outside (or inside!), I don't enjoy my usual favorites as much. My very favorite scent for summer is Blue Fire - although the juniper and lemongrass smell so sharp on me that I'm about to try it as a winter scent as well. I also like Cheshire Cat, Rosalind, The Ghost, and Juke Joint as summer scents. (I like citrus scents in the winter too - so Cheshire cat may end up back in the rotation soon.)
