In the imp: fizzy, bubbly coconut and hazelnut. Not sure if I'm able to pick out the iris at this point. The musk is very sparkly and bubbly and lends an effervescent quality. Smelling this in the imp immediately reminded me of a fizzy Frangelico (hazelnut liqueur) drink! Maybe Frangelico and coconut and cream soda? Wet on skin: The coconut and hazelnut really bloom on my skin. There is a slight sharpness at this stage that could be the iris, I'm not sure--but the musk in this is really pretty. The description says 'opalescent' and that's really how it smells - sparkling and opalescent like a pearl. The hazelnut doesn't get too foody, which I like. I detect an underlying saltiness to this blend. Tropical but not in a typical sweet way. Very pretty Dry on skin: The drydown is yummy salty bubbly coconut. The hazelnut isn't as strong at this point. The musk leaves a slight soap note at the end but combined with the coconut it smells more like really high end sunscreen (in the best way) than soap. Again I'm not too good at picking out the iris (probably because I'm not too familiar with it) but it isn't overly floral as it dries down. This scent is more reminscent of a sultry night in the tropics than a day at the beach. Later drydown: Lasts a good while on me--the musk and flowery coconut keeps going and going. I ran a bit through my hair and am enveloped in a really pretty scent cloud. Thoughts: This one is a really different approach to a typical tropical. Living on an island, you get used to seeing the same notes in fragrances. Tiare, frangipani, pikake, white ginger--all beautiful flowers used in lei-making. Although pretty, they can get predictable. This one is still unmistakably tropical while managing to be a little more sultry and different. I will throw this on the next time I go on a nighttime beach bbq or a swanky Waikiki party.

In the imp: green-smelling, slightly sharp floral at the top but still musky and warm from the sandalwood. The tea note keeps things smelling clean. I detect very little spice in the bottle Wet on skin: The spicy elements warm up upon contact with the skin, especially the clove and sandalwood. I'm not getting the jonquil too much thankfully, just musk and tea with a woody, peppery end. It veers close to being 'soapy' or 'clean laundry' smell which I'm thinking is musk but the whole thing is slightly 'glowy' thanks to the frankincense. This changed a lot from in the bottle to my skin--it's now more spicy and peppery and almost potpourri-ish but nothing horrible. It comes close to being almost like baby powder but never quite gets there Dry on skin: As it dries things get a little more sweeter. I can detect the honeycomb and clove more and they're all in front of a glowy, resinous frankincense and spicy sandalwood. The musk calms down a lot and the soapiness/baby powder smell backs off. The white tea and jonquil move to the side and make way for the others. I like the clove in here, it adds a nice smoky spice kick at the end and makes everything seem more seductive and mysterious Later drydown: I like this much more as it dries than straight out of the bottle. It becomes a sweet warm honey-musk but with some resins and spice swirling around it at the side. The frankincense in here is really nice. Thoughts: this one is a morpher to me. Smelling it out of the bottle I thought it would become sharp, flowery potpourri powder but as it dries on the skin it becomes very pretty and infinitely interesting.

In the bottle: Sunny, juicy orange and flowers. A bit of a gummy candy note that I'm thinking is beeswax and honey. The flowers here are small, soft and delicate Wet on skin: Still very juicy, the heat of my skin warms up the flowers and honey and they all meld down beautifully together. The orange note is still bright and fresh--the impression is oranges covered in sweet, amber-colored orange blossom honey. Extremely juicy. Fruity but not sweet -- more of a savory, floral fruity flavor Dry on skin: As it dries, the amber comes out with just a hint of powder, but the juiciness of the other notes keeps it from going to baby powder. It's just a gorgeous halo of oranges and white flowers in golden honey and beeswax. I don't detect any cedar at all. When completely dry it has a suggestion of dryer sheets Later drydown: Scent seems to fade around the 4 hour mark and leaves behind a soft amber. Less citrus halo of course but the honeyed flowers mix well with the amber. I would want to keep reapplying to refresh the initial 'heavenly orange grove' feeling I knew I would like this one from the notes and I'm not dissapointed. This may be worth a backup! The feeling it evokes is one of innocent beauty -- like a young woman who grew up in an orange grove and has no idea how beautiful she is becoming.

In bottle: Really sweet cream, coconut, some warmth from what I'm guessing is the amber, then finishes with a sweet sugary macadamia nut. Wet on skin: a salty buttery note comes out. I'm surprised at how much I smell like a coconut confection with a lot of butter in it. There's almost something that makes it lean to buttered popcorn but the sweet cream and macadamia keep things really sweet. There's also a toasty element coming out like marshmallows over a campfire then covered in coconut flakes. Dry on skin: The saltiness seams to fade and leave behind a creamy, sweet rich coconut. To me this is more like a baking coconut in a cookie or a pastry than a tropical, suntan coconut. The amber isn't strong but I'm guessing lends a whole cuddly warmth to the overall picture. The whole thing is very rich, sweet, buttery and toasty--like snuggling up a cozy blanket with a chai tea, a macadamia-coconut flaked pastry and a nothing to do all day. I usually am more of a incense, resin, spicy type of fragrance lover but I'm curious to see what the bf will think of this on me and if he'll try to munch on me or something.

First review! Here I go... In bottle: Creamy, yummy almond. The smell reminds me of white almond jelly in Asian desserts. I keep opening the bottle just to get that initial blast of almond candy smell. Wet on skin: on my skin it's a very sweet, syrupy, creamy, almost citrusy almond. No florals just yet. Still yummy edible almond sweetness. Dry on skin: the mimosa comes out and it's a very soft, powdery scent. The almond gets almost entirely out of the way but it's still detectable. It's not quite baby powder though--the almond and vanilla cream keeps things luscious and not like straight up Johnson's baby powder. If I inhale deeply on the swatch on my arm I get a bit of a sharp, head-ache inducing smell. But as I catch whiffs of it as I sit it's pleasant. I would say the throw is medium to strong. A little goes a long way. Overall I'm a bit disappointed it didn't stay as a strong almond jelly/almond syrup smell on my skin because I LOVE almond notes in everything and that initial almond blast was SO yummy. But I would say that the overall result is very pretty and elegant and the throw is quite powerful. I dabbed just a few dots on my wrist and up my forearm and I'm enveloped in a pretty decent scent cloud. I could see this being a scent I would reach for if I'm feeling very demure and dousing myself in Snake Oil would be the wrong choice. The scent is pretty, subtle, elegant but it has a strong presence. Glad to have my bottle for days when I want a change-up.
