Mount Fuji Reflected in Lake Misaica

I really liked the beginning stages of this one. Lovely sandalwood and fresh pine needles and I thought it was going to stay that way for a while, nope. It soon turned into something that I knew I recognized and couldn't quite put my finger on but I immediately did not like it. Then as it fully dried it finally hit me....... It smells like Gacela of the Dark Death but just not as harsh. I did not like Gacela because it was just too intense on my skin and I don't like this either. This is going into the sale pile.

    A Peculiar Spirit

This is straight up tobacco and black tea on me from start to finish and you know what, I like it. I love anise type notes in my fragrances lately and I am a sucker for all things tobacco. I am not quite sure it needs to be upgraded to a big bottle but I will enjoy my decant.

    A Commentary

This is a very to the point scent for me. Not overly complicated Sweet, smoky, touch fruity and very delicious. The apricot is incredibly strong and the red musk makes it smell super deep. Like a sophisticated and more adult fruity scent. I hardly get any clove at all and I very faintly get vetiver except on the dry down mostly and that's what gives it the smoky feel. It does fade a little quickly on me as well but I still am kind of liking it.

    Embalming Fluid Bonbon

This has become my newest obsession and I need every bottle! I am so glad I decided to try this thanks to a recommendation from a fellow forumite, you know who you are. (: It literally smells like candied lemon dipped in milk chocolate or milk chocolate fudge. It's fresh without being overly clean and yet still has a foodie vibe but not so much so that it becomes cloying. This would be a good scent for those who don't like overly foodie blends. Myself, I love them but I just absolutely adore this. Hmmm, a reviewer above said lemon custard and yes, I can see that as well. I just know without a doubt that I am inlove with it and need to upgrade to a bottle immediately

I love this more than I thought I would. I thought this would immediately turn into "horrid jasmine from hell" but it just does not, yay! In the imp it's all jasmine all the time but it's not harsh nor abrasive like I imagined, it's more subtle. In the opening I get jasmine and black amber and I can't even believe that the jasmine is behaving itself and actually keeping that subtle vibe while the amber is allowed to dance around a little, so promising. When it's dry the amber becomes more dominant and the vanilla sneaks itself in lending a sophisticated sweetness while the jasmine tea now just becomes a whisper with everything else. I can't believe this works on me the way it does. It's absolutely gorgeous and I cannot stop sniffing my wrist. I just may have to upgrade to a bottle!
  6. Have you ever tried Le Lethe? I think you would really enjoy it, it's one of my most favorites of all time. The notes are: Red musk and sweat-damp golden skin musk with labdanum, golden amber, nutmeg, tobacco absolute, black orchid, and hemlock accord. I also recommend: Sed Non Satiata- myrrh, red patchouli, cognac, honey, and tuberose and geranium in a breathy, panting veil over the darkest body musk. Kill-Devil- Sugar cane, molasses, oak wood, and honey. Kubla Khan- Through sunlit caves of ice, roses unfurl amidst dancing waves of serpentine opium smoke and amber tobacco, golden sandalwood, champaca, tea leaf, sugared lily, ginger, rich hay absolute, leather, dark vanilla, mandarin, peru balsam, and Moroccan jasmine. Scherezade- Saffron and Middle Eastern spices swirled through sensual red musk. If you wanted to take a look at LE blends I recommend: Creeper Dragon- daemonorops, green leather, and red musk with dribbles of honey and white cream.

Give me all the blends with tobacco This is such a good tobacco based blend. In the opening it's all nutmeg and amber but the amber doesn't go to powder and the nutmeg doesn't take over everything, the spices are actually subtle. I agree with a reviewer above about it having a sort of "fizzy" thing happening. It happens on me but not until the initial wet stage fades and I don't know what it could be because I don't really know how to distinguish cistus or benzoin in fragrances yet. When it has dried oh does it get lovely. The nutmeg is still very present and the amber has faded away but the caramelized tobacco and the vanilla come out and I am just enveloped in a cloud of tobacco heaven. Not pipe tobacco but a more rugged, chewy tobacco. I am loving this! The only negative thing I can say is that it fades rather quickly. So I will have to take this with me when I go out and about so I can re apply.

I love any blend that has forest-y notes so I knew I had to pick this up and it doesn't disappoint me. Wet- It is very strong cypress, ivy and pine. Cypress can turn really rancid on me but here it doesn't. The combo of ivy and pine is really lovely and not too harsh and the pine doesn't go into the "cleaner" territory or invade the sinuses. Drying down- The ivy is still really dominant but now the birch tar is coming to the center and it's kind of leaning on the lines of a more musky or slightly cologne-y birch and that probably makes 0 sense but that's just what my nose sees it as. It's turning into more of a "wood" fragrance instead of being straight green like in the wet stages. Fully dry- It has toned down the "green" a lot and it's still got the wood aspect to it all. The ivy has actually dissipated a lot and now all I get is birch, pine and deep dark musk. I really like this one and I realized I leaned in a lot to sniff my wrist every few moments.

This is very cologne-y for sure but I actually like that. I agree with Lycanthrope that it's very strong white tea when it's wet and it basically stays that way. When it softens and dries though the sandalwood comes out and really tames everything nicely. It does indeed smell mostly of tea and a bit of woods. It's unisex I think but it leans more to the masculine side.

Adore this! You would think that with vetiver being one of the main notes that it would stomp over the fig, it doesn't. It's actually quite refined on me and the fig is able to blend through the harshness very smoothly. The fig almost turns the vetiver a little effervescent to me. I really like this a lot. Oddly, it doesn't read as super masculine on me at all. Not that I would mind if it did anyway. Winner without a doubt! (:

    Laudanum Bonbon

I really like the GC version so I have high hopes for this. In the imp I smelled 0 chocolate and I got strong poppy and sassafras. Wet, the poppy receded a bit and more of the nutmeg and myrrh came forward but the sassafras still was sort of dominating the scent. Dry, the sassafras mellowed out a ton and I think my nose is picking up a little bit of a bitter chocolate mixing with the nutmeg but it isn't super strong and I really wanted to pick up the chocolate. I still like it but it's not a big difference to the GC version of it.

    Haunted Bonbon

The same gorgeous musky amber that Haunted has with a kick of extra deep dark chocolate. I actually don't get the sort of lemony tang that the original Haunted has in this one and I really like that. It's rich and simple but oh so wonderful and the throw isn't super loud but it's nice because the cloud of the scent just envelopes only you. Love!

    Bloodlust Bonbon

My skin chemistry must be way off today or my nose is broken. I get no smoked cacao in this at all. It's just dragons blood, red patchouli, cinnamon and vetiver. It's just the original Bloodlust with a extra kick of vetiver and cinnamon. I really wanted to get the cacao so I will try this again on a different day to see if it changes.

    Liaison

This is for the 2015 version Wet on the skin I get nothing else except clove, black musk and frankincense. This is a very good start because I love all of these notes. The longer it blooms on me the more the sandalwood and honeycomb come forth. It's beginning to smell creamy, musky and a little herbal. Drying down I get a lovely waft of a sweet, musky floral with a touch of I don't know how else to say it but "smoke". It smells beautiful but in a demure way. I enjoy it
  15. Haltija

    Creeper Dragon

I like this! I get almost every single note listed but just in different stages. Wet, it's super strong dragon's blood and red musk and I smell nothing else and it didn't bother me because red musk and I are friends. Drying down a little bit of a creaminess started to come out and support the more dominant notes that were taking charge, I like this part of it. Full dry the cream and the honey blend so beautifully together to make it different than any other musky blend I have in my collection. What's odd is I never got any leather and that's a shame but even without it I think it's really nice.

I was super hesitant to try this one because gardenia and I have a love/hate relationship. Glad I did though! (: Definitely a blast of gardenia when it's first on with a dash of vanilla keeping it from being too harsh, I like the sweetness this is bringing to the entire feel of the blend. This is just incredibly beautiful, wow! I am surprised I am liking it this much. The gardenia is lush and full and doesn't turn into anything soapy at all. Drying down and fully dry the frankincense has came forth and the softness of the woods keep everything in full balance. The first phrase that came to my mind when I smelled it was "Sophisticated beauty" and I think that's accurate. Like a classy woman from the 40's in a pant suit but still covered in jewelry with her makeup and hair on point.

    Elf Hair Gloss

This is just like the perfume, only somehow better. If that's even possible. It's refreshing, a little cooling and very gorgeous for the upcoming Spring weather but I do think it can be worn all year round seeing as I wear the perfume all year round. I get a blast of berry and violet when it's first applied to my hair and usually violet of any kind goes straight to powder, this does not. The more it sits on my hair the more the musk comes forth and balances the lighter scents and makes me feel like I am walking through a sunlit forest picking fresh berries and herbs. I absolutely adore this and everyone needs to try it. Oh please make this GC! That would be wonderful!

Eyes Made Strong and Grave with Sleep

I can't even contain my excitement for this beauty right here. This is one sexy scent, plain and simple. The white musk and tobacco are the most dominant notes on me and goodness are they striking. It does smell more like a cologne than a oil and I have no issue with that in the least. You would think the cacao would make it foodie but it doesn't in anyway, it seems to have made it smell rich and classic. A woman or a man could equally pull this off wonderfully. A decant is not enough, I need a bottle!

    Faces Cleaving Each to Each

Definitely a more grown up apple blend without that overly fruity, sweetness. I love it. I agree with a review above in saying that the oudh makes it smell a little bit incense-y. The more it dries the more refined it becomes and I can see myself wearing this during the full bloom of Summer all the way into the depths of Fall. Very pretty!

    Ruined Roses

This does smell exactly like Zombi without the dirt note. Quite frankly I think I like this better than Zombi and I didn't think I would ever say that. The roses are super delicate and the moss is really green and fresh. I barely smell any of the labdanum and the balsam and that's probably the only thing I would change about it. But overall it's a nice uplifting blend that makes one crave warmer weather.

    The Fruit of Paradise

This is just lovely. Definitely a more sophisticated fruity scent. Basically a Pom single note for sure but with a deeper edge. This may sound strange but to me it smells like Jo Malone's Pomegranate Noir. It's a keeper (:

    Aristocratic Couple

I just had a feeling this would be the perfect scent for me and it is! Bright, juicy apricot with a dusting of a little spice. The vanilla keeps it from being overly spicy but yet it doesn't make it super sweet either. It is honestly the perfect balance of sweet and a little savory. It is indeed a closer to the skin scent but in no means does it disappear within a few minutes. It lasts for a good 4 hours on me and I don't mind re applying. When I wear this I feel happy and I love that. It's just a scent that I feel was made for me and I think I may require a backup bottle. Gorgeous!

    Comparison of Celebrated Beauties

This is exquisite! I don't get any almond at all hardly. When I do smell it, it isn't cloying or overpowering. I am amping mostly the mimosa and the vanilla cream. The vanilla cream is making it smell a little like....... This may sound strange but "ice cream" I don't know I just get that vibe. It's a touch sweet without being too much and the mimosa is the same mimosa note in The Blooming Flowers of Spring. The entire feeling of the scent screams soft and elegant. I really love this and it makes me feel pretty.

    Ivory Vulva

It's all marshmallow cream and coconut on my skin and I like that. If you remember how people got a coconut-y vibe from Reflected Vulva, this smells like that with no florals and a extra helping of cream. I detect no amber from start to finish and I am okay with that. It's a really beautiful scent. A touch beachy to my nose as well without reading as suntan lotion or the traditional "aquatic" feel. It's on the other side of the spectrum. A winner in my book and I can see myself wearing it a lot during the upcoming Summer (:

    Chocolate Stout Cupcake

This has such a richness from the beer and a decadence from the chocolate frosting. It's a expensive smelling foody scent and I am inlove with it. Very glad it came back in stock the second time so I could grab it. Towards the dry down a little bit of a powdery smell releases but it doesn't change the scent too much. It still stays smelling like a fancy chocolate cake. Just lovely!
