IMO, to my nose, Empress and Rose Moon are very different. Unfortunately I don't have Rose moon, I'm remembering from memory, but it was a sweet rose? Empress is almost all rose (I don't know what kind, but I know it's not tea rose as in London), and there's a slight men's cologne on the drydown (I'm thinking Bergamot, I'm not sure what the note is). I think a closer similarity to Rose Moon is Hope from CD. Hope is much sweeter but I remember thinking they were very similar. Just my 2 cents. Happy hunting! -
I looove this scent. Someone gifted me with Snowflakes scented lotion and it was teh awesome. It was the best, lightest lotion ever. Because of it, I love Snowflakes. Its odd, it smells like snow! I can't give a better description. It smells like snow in the mountains with a tinge of pine. The genius behind the scent is why I think BPAL is teh awesome of teh e-tailers. A+++++++

Lady Macbeth. I love it. Its so me.

I second Hellcat. It has a sweet almond-cherry smell.

What an interesting topic! I'm going to say Purple Phoenix and Shadow Witch Orchid are very purple scents to me, maybe cuz the violets? And a different kind of purple is Phantom Queen, I get a more pale lilac purple. That's just me! My purple could be your yellow!

Demeter makes great "cocktail" scents. I just tested Sex on the Beach and I'm amazed. It smells exactly like the drink. They also make a White Russian that's good too. As for BPAL, I second Obtala and Manila.

In the bottle: Mmm.. sweet foody goodness. Wet: sweetness, where did you go? I'm left with graham crackers. Yep, no joke, plain ol graham crackers. No yummy frosting, no cocoa, nothing. Although in the background, just the faintest touch of coconut and cassia. Dry: smelling more bready by the minute. I don't hate it... if you LOVE bread, this scent is for you. Definitely foody. But definitely not worth the hype around it. *doh* should I have said that? Lucky for all, it shall be up on my next sales. Verdict: 3/5

I was really hoping for a sweet coffee scent. A bit disappointed that the coffee makes a guest appearance at the beginning then disappears. Mata Hari is really a VERY FLORAL scent. Overpoweringly floral. Beth is such a genius. How in the world did she get coffee and florals to jive? Woah.. these florals have a strong throw! Its 3 hours later and I can still smell them! Not what I was looking for, but I like the floral throw. 4.5/5.

In the bottle: yummy sweetness. Why do I smell something like strawberries? well, you get the gist, its a yummy foody smell, makes me want to eat it up! Wet: This is where it gets weird. I definitely smell something like buttercream frosting and cake. Which would be great, but its warping with my skin, and it doesn't smell right. It smells like B.O., sweat, frosting and cake. Blech. Dry: The buttercream and cake smell has gone, what is left is a gorgeous non-foody vanilla + sandlewood. I LOVE IT. Its a feminine sexy. Its like Antique Lace without the florals. Overall: I wasn't crazy about the wet phase, but all in all, I liked it. 5/5.

A very complicated blend, I hope that I can do it justice. In the bottle: lovely lovely smell, akin to a gourmet fruit punch. Wet: the apple become more noticeable. meh. I don't care for apples, unless combined with something tart and sweet. There's a plethora of fruits in the background. Nice. Drydown: oh, there's that wonderful note poking through! I don't know what it is, its a "red" scent, and I"ve smelled it in Horror Sympathic and Ryleh. I love the drydown. Lovely. And long-lasting throw. Verdict: 3.5/5

Hello all, This question is aimed more for a "learned" perfumist or BPAL staff... I'm very concerned about the hot summer coming... can I place my BPAL in my fridge? Will it cause any crystalization, or cause the oils to separate? And which oils are most suspectible? I guess I can ask on other forums... but I was hoping a staffer could help me.

Wet: Whoa! Rosemary! and strong! And a strong throw. It smells almost like a Rosemary single note. Dry: something citrusy is hiding in the background, it peaks through the rosemary from time to time. Rosemary is still hollering. Ugh. It is a strong scent. Verdict: I like Rosemary on my food, but I don't like smelling like it. And the throw is nauseously strong. Sorry to do this, but I give it 1/5.

My aunt flo is visiting me right now and I'm in love with Tushnamatay! I can't stop slathering it on me, its sooo good. I've always "liked" the scent, but for some reason, I think aunt flo causes me to "love" it. And Gluttony has morphed into something nasty. So has Sugar Skull and Miskatonic U. I love those scents but I'm thinking when its TOM, I can't wear foody/sweet, I have to stick with white, light florals.

Oh dearie! I was so excited to have a landed a Strawberry Moon sniffie... and I'm so glad I didn't pay a dime. For everyone who is *dying* to try Strawberry Moon, take about 2 parts Strawberry Oil (very similar to Body Shop Strawberry) to 1 part Lotus flower and a drop or two of whatever else the decriptions says (I can't even smell them). Voila! You have Strawberry Moon! Of course nothing beats being able to *say* I have Strawberry Moon, but you get the gist. Its a very ordinary, common scent, overwhelmingly strawberries and the only other note I detect, albeit slightly is the Lotus flower. Of course I LOVE strawberries, especially if they smell like Body Shop Strawberries, so I give the scent 5/5.

In the bottle: Yum! Drizzling hot butterscotch... but wait, what's that bit of naughtiness peeking through? Booze! Its giving it an edge. It kinda reminds me of authentic melted butterscotch that has real whisky in it, and is served very warm, drizzle over ice creams. Love it. Wet: The booze becomes more prominent, fighting the buttery sweet scent for dominance. Interesting. What a fun scent! Not something I'd wear, more just a delight to smell. Drydown: The foody sweet is almost gone, and the booze is lingering. I notice the tobacoo more now. The lingering scent is definitely tobacco. I love it. It was fun. Not something I'd wear but a fun scent to try. 4.5/5 EDIT: after reading the other reviews, I realized that sour zing I attributed to the booze is most definitely lime. Forgive me, my nose is still in training.
