Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?
Jeni Mullen replied to Absinthe's topic in Recommendations
Oh strawberry moon does not for even a moment agree with me. Alas! I don't even know why but it turns to floor cleaner! Maybe Bon Vivant and a little Eat Me or Snake Oil or Ivory Vulva. I'll add an imp of Bon Vivant with my next order! -

Are there any sweet strawberry GCs without florals? The only hit on the site I get is for suganiyot and that was an LE. There is one with a boozy champagne I am going to have to try and then things like Hollywood Babylon that come off more like cherry cool aid and powder on me. Beaver'versary is seriously amazing and I would love to recreate it. -
I really do not like florals but Pearl is so soft on the floral department that it might as well not be a floral at all. Vanilla orchid is definitely being marked down at my own safe floral forever. It also has an amazing staying power but it remains light and gossamer at a near constant. Puddin, the blending on this? Amazing!

The red musk is intense. I don't get a feel of ALL THE NOTES AT ONCE and honestly, I'm not getting a lot of amber at all. This stuff lasts forever and a day though and it's nice and thick and smokey. If I was naming notes. I would say that this smells like a smokey and boozy version of Red Shirt Diaries (red musk). It's a delight. And I now have three bottles! No longer am I afraid to use my RSD since I have this more complex version in heaps!

I got myself five bottles. Like the rest, none have a number. I have labeled them A-E for ease. Like the others said, they are full to the top. I've made some messes! Gourmand A: sage and citrus. Might be lemon in this one? I can't tell at all. It smells very bitter to me and catches in my nose rather unpleasantly. Gourmand B: cream and citrus. It's a somewhat unsettling smell, like it should cuddle the way milk and orange juice does. It gets steadily LESS unpleasant the longer it's on the skin and turns into orange creamcicles on me! Gourmand C: vanilla and spice. Very sugary. This one smells like cake to me. Gourmand D: my favorite! Vanilla and caramel and something smokey. It's just wonderful. Skin test lasts a very long time. It's a comforting sort of scent indeed and very foody. Gourmand E: tea and... Some very stinky flowers. I did not put this on my skin. Flowers is an instant headache and I won't do that to myself. This seems more fougere than gourmand. I don't detect sugar or honey or vanilla or chocolate at all.

The packaging was beautiful. Little baggy, tissue paper. It was a pretty package to open to say the least! Beeswax for me is usually death so when it sold out the first go around, I didn't care much. But then it came back. And stayed back. So I figured that if I didn't like this, I could resell it. I get nothing floral or honey at all from this blend. The vanilla is mellow and the spices are strong. The beeswax doesn't kick in until the dry down and it isn't overwhelming. This doesn't smell like air freshener to me. Or a bathroom candle. This reminds me strongly of Snake Oil, but a slightly younger cousin perhaps. Maybe a Snake Oil that likes cinnamon rolls. Throw is a little weak but it lasts forever. I wore it to bed and 8 hours later I didn't even reapply and still smell it on my skin.

I do not get the butter note other people are talking about (thankfully, because the lab's creams and butters turn sour and rotten on me). I get a blend of earthy pumpkin, a sweet peachy smell, and a whole lot of spice. I love Jack for about 30 minutes before it fades away completely, no trace to be found. Morocco does the same thing to me. Without something with staying power in the blend (resins or musks), the oils just disappear on me. Alas! For the 30 minutes I get to wear him, Jack is one of my favorites.

Wow. I smell nothing. I slathered it on and even with my nose on my arm I'm getting nothing at all. Also. I just want to say this: bourbon vanilla is not bourbon + vanilla. This is vanilla from Madagascar, formerly called the Bourbon Islands. The vanilla is grown there and that's where it gets it's name. It's got nothing to do with booze.

Where is my order? What is Click N Ship? How long does this take?

Three years ago at Christmas I had one package stolen. Ever since, if it will not fit in my apartment mail box, I tell the postoffice to hold it for me. It's a little bit of a hassle but the peace of mind is worth rushing to get the post office by 5 after work when it closes sometimes or waiting until Saturday morning. -
This was a knock out! I had no idea how truly amazing peach could be until this hair gloss. Ginger on my skin goes bad in very wrong ways (and I won't lie, spraying this into my hand to apply made my nose wrinkle). After I washed my hands and shook my hair out, I was surrounded by what has got to be the perfect summer hair scent for a foodie like me. It's a bright peach without the floral that always gets me in the Lupers when apricots abound everywhere but I can't get them due to the flowers. None of that here ladies! I immediately paired this with my peach and papaya-musk heavy Mare Nectaris. I need more of both. I'll be wearing this combo all summer.

Chocolate tends to go powdery on me. I have a bottle of chocolate sugar skulls that just went so talc it was awful. Now this does have the same chocolate as Bliss, I'll agree with that, but where Bliss goes powder after the wet phase THIS stays pure chocolate. Just wow! It's a little too sweet for me but I think if I layer it under some Smut or some Mare Nectaris it's going to be amazing!

Honey never plays well on me but I did try a little of this in a scarf as I was decanting last night and OH. I am going to have to see if I can trade my left overs of other decants for some of this. The honey is definitely more pure honey, the saffron taking the sweetness down just a notch. The musk is totally killer too. This is a seriously great hair gloss blend and not one I would have picked up for myself with that honey note lingering.

Decanting this last night, I actually had to stop halfway through. I don't smell vanilla or Cardamom at all actually. All I get is this licorice scent, like the majority of this oil is actually anise. I had three bottles and I rolled and tested all of them seperately and they all have this licorice scent to them. I'm not going to say that I hate licorice but I really dislike it strongly. I had hopes that some of the later batches would be more vanilla or more spice but alas. If anyone loves the smell of anise absolutely get this right away.

The patch in the version I got (yesterday) was incredible strong. I did give it a good roll around and tested a spray on one of my scarves. Now I like patchouli generally but more like as an after thought. This stuff is so strong that it actually made me cough. I didn't get any fig sweetness. I don't get a fizzy sensation like I got from frosty silkybat. I get dark dark patch almost exclusively.

Huh. I think there's a coffee or a cocoa note in here because man... There is something turning acidic in my nose like Miskatonic University does. I'm pretty darn disappointed. I really can't help but say it. I don't get the coconut. Or the caramel. I just get spice and cocoa or coffee. Alas. I should know better than to blind bottle.

Give them another email. I ordered on 1/22 myself and still didn't get my click n ship. -
About my skin: My skin loves sugar and cakes but any chocolate and many vanillas turn plastic and powdery. Booze gets amped (but wonderfully) and will tone down the plastic smells of vanilla but NOT chocolate. Wine, creams and honey often turn sour immediately. White, red and dark musks are love. Vetiver and Civet are not. I can also be sensitive to cinnamon in a blend but a little Snake Oil almost always takes the burny away. About my nose: Kitchen spices (peppers, ginger, cardamom and sage) make me sneeze. Frankincense reminds me of sage. I dislike the smell of leather. Almost anything floral or wood (including sandalwood) gives me a headaches but I can do bergamot, rose and sweetpea in small doses. I don't like licorice either. Forest smells are great, decay is not. I really love linen and clean smells. Citrus is hit or miss. Imp: Death...death in a vial. I can't even be nice about it. I can smell nothing but the vetiver. Skin: I knew about the vetiver and sandalwood going in, but dark musk! Black patchouli! Plus, I have to try everything. I really should have held off, though. Ugh. This is getting washed off. Right. Now. Verdict: Vetiver! I really should trust my nose! I wish I could give a better review. I was hoping that the musk and patch would be fuller since they were listed first in the notes but alas, that little addition to vetiver ruined it for me.

Actually, it's really nice. Honey almost always goes sour on me within seconds but the amber is saving it. I'm getting some light florals too (helitrope sometimes plays nice in blends where I amp something my nose really likes, like amber and resin) but it's wonderful! Unfortunately, at the thirty minute mark, it's ALL CEDAR. There goes my skin ruining a good thing. Verdict: Not going to keep this at all. Any sweetness has died and it's not ALL CEDAR AND WOOD ALL THE TIME. For people that like cedar, this is going to be gold on you. But for people like me, who prefers sweet things, its a disappointment.

Warm to me is deep musks and darker baked goods or thick incensey blends. I can't pick out wool (and I work with wool a lot). I'm getting mostly that watery ambergris smell. Huh. I wonder if I just amp ambergris to the point where I get nothing else? Even so, I really like it...sort of...? Verdict: So I don't get the same scents everyone else seems to be getting, but this is just a spot test on the inside of my elbow. I'm going to do a full body test eventually and will edit.

I was hoping that the anise would be toned down but I guess not! Skin: Ugh, wet, it's all licorice all the time. Hoping for a mellower dry down. Verdict: Unfortunately, this is just a sweet licorice on me. If you love licorice (or anise cookies) this would be perfect. I think this is actually just triggering the taste more than the smell on me. I generally like the smell of faint licorice but the strength evokes a taste in my mouth that I can't get away from. I'll not keep this imp.

Sniff from the bottle: ouch! There's something sharp here, not the nice patchouli from the vixen I know! I figure it's just the other oils with it. I've always found hair gloss to be a little nose hurty at first! Two sprays to wet hair: it smells pretty spicy still and I love it! Five sprays into hands to run through slightly damp hair: here's where it goes ALL GINGER ALL THE TIME. Dry: ginger doesn't work on my skin usually. Vixen the oil is very patch heavy so sometimes I've been able to wear my imp if the mood strikes. Unfortunately, this stuff starting burning the back of my neck unpleasantly.
-
You're not the only one. I love my Shub oil but the hair gloss did not go well. Maybe it's too concentrated? It really felt astringent wafting around my head that I ended up putting my hair into a bun.
-
The chocolate in here is absolutely beautiful. I was hoping that the extra sugar would stop it From turning to powder. Alas. It did not.
-
The honey in this blend is STRONG. Even when I used less than my usual 5 squirts it overwhelmed me easily. I know my skin sours honey scents so I wonder if my hair is doing the same now!

In the imp: Sagey and fruity clean, like how kitchen cleaners without lemon strive to be Wet on wrist: Still kitchen cleaner, but not astringent. It doesn't hurt my nose at all, but it has an underlying CLEAN scent. 15 minutes later: This reminds me a lot of when I first open the dishwater after I've run it. It's a warm, clean scent. Not getting the creaminess others have gotten. Verdict: This stuff fades fast on me. It's been 20 minutes and my nose has to hit my wrist to write the last part of this review. I actually really like this. It's clean, skin musky, and fruity and seems like it would be great for outdoor, summery stuff but it just fades to nothing on me (like Mouse's Sad and Long Tale or Feeding the Dead does). Shame.
