I bought this because I absolute adore Rose Cross (rose and frankincense). While this blend has some of the same notes, it's very different but still pleasant. Dawn: Mother is a really sharp, slightly sour rose with an almost wine-like quality to it. Very rich and pungent, not lush. The frankincense, honey, and saffron lend a richness to this blend but are more support players. I can tell there is a resin in this blend, but it's not strong enough to detect that spiciness I always associate with frankincense. Overall, this is a great rose blend though it's slightly more tart/sharper that what I was expecting.

This starts out as refreshing green tea. Then it dries down into a fresh vanilla honey that's sweet and warm while still being light. It has mid-to-low throw and a good wear length for me. Serving Tea After Coitus is a real winner with my skin chemistry. Glad I bought a bottle.

In the bottle: dandelion! Wet: stronger dandelion with some greenness, a wisp of other flowers, and a hint of honey. Dry: the honey blooms beautifully on my skin with dandelion and wildflowers still in support. Ends up being a nice balance of wild florals and warm honey. Overall: This is a very springy scent. Has some throw but overall on the lighter side. My favorite of this year's Lupers.

In the imp: Mostly chamomile with a hint of ambergris. Wet in skin: Hello musk! It's the musk show (and it turns out I'm not a huge fan of musk). There might be some chamomile in there but it's really just musk at this point. Musk, musk, musk. Dry on skin: It becomes a nice cozy chamomile with a slight hint of musk. And then about 2 hours in, the salty ambergris shows up and starts to throw its weight around. And it turns out I'm not a huge fan of dominant ambergris either. At least the scent stays fairly close to the skin the whole time. Overall impression: This scent hits all of the notes listed. I just wish it hit them all at the same time instead of in progression.

My very first review. Here we go... When first applied, I get a lovely rose with a hint of green supported by woods. These are slightly earthy woods instead of soft, sweet woods (they remind me of the woods in Ouija). At this stage, it's about half and half, woods and roses. As it dries, the woods start to take over more. The rose is still there but I notice the woods more. I think I'm getting a little more throw from the wood notes while the rose is sticking close to my hair. Or maybe I'm just noticing the woods more because I'm trying to decide if I like them or not. And I second TallGrrl's statement on average throw/wear length. Overall, this is pleasant but a little earthier than I had hoped for.

Okay, a bunch of these sound fabulous. My wishlist is getting even longer. And now I've run into the perennial BPAL problem of which to try first and trying not to go overboard by buying All The Things! -

How similar are Rose Cross and Dawn: Mother? I adore (ADORE!) Rose Cross and noticed that Dawn: Mother has several of the same notes. Also, any recommendations for blends in the same vein as Rose Cross (ie. mostly strong rose with something interesting in support)?
