I never knew how much I really adored mint until smelling undertow. It's not just mint though. It's fresh, green mint, with the juniper adding just the right .. I don't know, freshness to it. It was a wonderful way to start my day today.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils
EvilKitten replied to friendthegirl's topic in BPAL FAQs
I'll tell you what sucks, is discovering a new allergy. Especially when you have figured out you love the scent. I sniffed snake oil, and loved it, so I slathered it on. I spent the next day with swollen and watery eyes, red splotchy skin, and pretty much being in misery - now this coincided with a shift in the weather so I tried it again (only less slathery) and had the same affect. I was very disappointed, because I loved it. I've always lived with pretty severe allergies though - Beth's creations are the best things I've been able to wear really. -
Snake oil was one of the first oils I ever tried. I didn't like it then. I decided to give it anohter chance now that my nose has had a chance to refine itself - and boy, am I glad it did. Wet in the imp, it smells all vanilla-y. On me, a wonderful spicy warm vanilla sweet sexy scent. My god how could I have not liked this? It's beautiful. And now I understand the hype.

in the bottle - Definitely grapefruit and mandarin. It is not quite citrusy but that is the scent that really hits me first. Though it is very complex smelling, the other scents are in the background - just enough to make you go "hmm" on me - the lemon bark is coming out - and it's kinda pushing everything else out of the way. What was citrusy in the bottle is now very lemony on me, as most scents that contain lemon are. I am sad because it such a beautiful and complex scent in the bottle

I sniffed this in the imp and wasn't really swayed either way so I set it aside for a test day on my skin. Well, that day was today. Holy crap!! I put it on, and was overcome with the most delightful cinnamony spicy clove scent. Not only is it on me, but it just seems to be floating around the whole room. It's warm and so delightful, and a bit sexy even. I absolutely *love* it! I see candles in this scent's future!

In the bottle - bursting with a wonderful, sweet berry scent. I'm already in love. on me - the more it dries, the sweeter and lighter it becomes. By the time it's completely dry, MWE is pure sex. Even my dad couldn't stop sniffing me when I wore it the other day. It's comforting, reminding me of my grandma's plum jelly (but not as sticky). It lasts quite a while too, which I like. This has become my new favorite. Hands down.

Ok, I put this on after my shower yesterday morning to go to my dad's house. A 4am, this morning, I sniffed my wrist and it was still there. Amazing staying power. I am not a usual big fan of floral scents, but this was exotic and light and just something I couldn't stop sniffing when I had it on. Definite tropical goodness. It didn't change much on me either from wet to dry, and I didn't mind at all. This is gonna be a get a bigger bottle of scent.

In the vial: Very citrusy and fresh smelling Wet on me: Lemon peel. That's all I can smell! As it dries: Well, this is very interesting ... the drier it gets, the more piney and less lemony it smells. By the time it is completely dried, I get the smell that usually is on my hands after bringing a Christmas tree home from the lot... I think this would make a great room scent but it is not for me as a perfume. Up for swaps!

oh god, I was worried about liking this (I really really dislike patchouli) - but it's amazing. truly. In the bottle: I smell warm, buttery pumpkin cookies. This has potential. On me, wet: It's got some woodsy scents that come out that weren't there on first sniff in the bottle.. it mingles perfectly with the autumnal foody scents. It's amazing.. totally... smells like every good memory of the autumn holiday. 30 minutes later: Still giving me those wonderful scent-associated memories. I love it! I'm almost kicking myself for not buying more. ETA: The 2nd and 3rd times I put this on, it turned to total patchouli on me. I felt like sobbing. I will probably try it one more time, in a week or so, just to be totally sure.

In the vial Oh. My. God. It smells just like I'd hoped! Salty and oceanic and everything wonderful. It's just what i wanted in a scent. And then, I dabbed a little bit on .... I can't stop sniffing my wrist. Christ almighty, This is wonderful. It reminds me of some body wash an ex of mine used to use that I loved so much.. but he never pays attention to what he buys, so he gets something different every time.. but this is so much better than that... It's salty, swarthy, and makes me want to go put on Pirates of the Carribean.. Well, not really, since the game is on.. but I will be sniffing myself all night.

Let me see if I can offer some help. I'm not really a floral fan too, I mean in some oils it's been ok. I'm much more a citrus, spicy, foody kinda person I've noticed (I love bliss, dragon's milk, bon vivant, mabon, etc lol).. I also hate the smell of incense. Being Catholic, it just reminds me of the purification of the church, and that incense they used and I just get ill with memories. A good citrusy clean scent if you can find it,(It's still an up and coming) is nine mysteries. It starts out kinda pepperminty, and dries out to citrusy. I like it a lot. Also, Machu Picchu is very fruity, tropical and nice smelling. If you like bubblegum and sweet and fruity then you might like jailbait. I can't really help much on the woodsy scents. Hope that helps some

First sniff - Oh .. my .. god .. It smells exquisite, of vanilla and honey and goodness.... I'm so glad I didn't have anything on this morning, so I could put some on right away! Wet on skin - Very vanilla and honey-like, with a musky undertone that's not too strong.. for the next couple of hours I couldn't stop smelling my wrist.. mmm.. And dry - I definitely smell powder.. it's so fresh, it semms to me like a mix of baby powder and vanilla cream, and I love it. I love it so much I made soap and bath salts, and will be ordering a large bottle. Amazing.

Upon first sniff, I too found it to resemble the after-dinner mints which I absolutely love, I buy them to cure sweet tooth sometimes. Wet on my skin, the pepperminty goodness is still strong. That's really all I smell at the beginning. On drydown, I definitely get some citrusy undertones, but the peppermint is still going strong. And i also sense a hint of cool greens, such as juniper. This seems like a really christmasy scent to me for some reason.. I immediately thought of Christmas as soon as I sniffed. and an hour later? Still the same scents, though theres something else mingling in there I cant quite make out. It's great, though. I like this scent a lot. Very nice and soothing!

Oh. My. God. I absolutely loved mabon, even more than I thought I would when I ordered it. I love the appley sagey smell that it gives when it's drying... and an hour later, it just smells wonderful. Really worked well with my skin. I'm in heaven!
