    skekNa the Slave-Master

In the imp- BOOZE! Like, this really felt like I was smelling some hard sweet spirits. On the skin: Spicy, boozy, with a hint of metal and leather in the background. Letting it sit a while...it's a bit unexpected, but to me this smells so much like a strong Chirstmas candle. A cinnamon, clove warm spicyness and boozy cider with a slight sweet creaminess to it. I get lots of gluttony and not much slave-mastering Not sure how often I will reach for this, but I am going to keep it around for now. It is quite different from anything else that I have, and I like having lots of options!

    Mattie Silks

In the bottle this is the exact bubbly champagne note from Tammany Free and Easy (which I love). That carried over to my skin as the main impression when wet. As it dried, the first other player to make itself known was a creamy vanilla. After giving it a little more time, everything else developed the bubbly into something richer. Lasted a good long time on me, and the fun effervesence stayed true to the end. Mattie Silks is a unique addition to keep in my collection Couldn't be happier w/ my DCC picks!

    Holliday Hair Gloss

There is a lot going on in this one, as Lecanthrope mentioned. I can pick out each and every one of the notes if I go searching for them. When I just get a little scent of it wafting my way, it is mostly red musk, smoke, and with a little sweet amber far behind. My hair really sucks this one up and it tends to disappear on me. I think this one needs another try to see what I really think of it. I had some gloss in my hair last night and haven't washed it yet. So, I'll try this again on nice clean hair to see if it pops anymore.

    Laura Belle McDaniel

So here's a weird one: On my wrists, I get soft vetiver and fine tobacco at the forefront, with a very muted vanilla-carnation in the background. On my inner elbow, I get CARNATIONS! I much prefer how it comes out on my wrists. The tobacco note is just gorgeous, and the vetiver is mellow and smooth. ***Update 2 hours in- Laura Belle has really gotten her stuff together! After a lot of back and forth and being a bit overwhelming, everything has developed became something awesome. This is totally what I would expect the beautiful tough girl in a Western saloon to smell like. At the beginning, there was little throw to speak of, now, I'm surrounded in sultry, smoldering smoky vanilla, tobacco, and carnations. This is a keeper for sure!

    The Edge of Doom

I like The Edge of Doom. It's unique and the site description is spot on. It's the clean plastic cleaned with commercial disinfecting cleaner, the recycled cabin air, and all the other notes just beneath that envronmental scent. Like the other OLLAs they are blended so seamlessly. You can't tell where one of the notes ends and the other begins. You end up just smelling everything together and separate at the same time. It's weird. I would describe it as "morphing," just that you can hone in on different facets with each sniff. Is it something I would put on to feel sexy or to go out for the night? No. But I appreciate the scent's ability to put you on the plane with Eve and will reach for it from time to time when I am looking for something unique.

    Streets of Detroit

Oh my goodness is Streets of Detroit ever a winner! It's sexy, musky, and--yes--smells like motol oil. I love how it even looks the color of clean oil when it comes out of the bottles. That vicsious yellow oil on your skin. As an added note--It totally reminds me of an old love who used to work in the automotive industry and would come home smelling of oil and grease and cologne. This stuff lasts all day long on me and has amazing through. It's pretty much perfect and in my Top 10 for sure.

    This is Your Wilderness

This is Your Wilderness is such a unique experience in a scent. I don't have anything else quite like it. It is a dark, woodsy smell. I keep flipping on what is stronger--the patchouli or the cypress. I didn't pick out the tobacco or the honey, though. I actually kept catching like a menthol/camphor smell. This is my favorite "green" scent that I've tried yet. It has some nice throw, too.

    Quintessence of Dust

When I first put this one my first though was that is was a very comforting smell--but I couldn't place quite why I felt that way. Was beeswax-heavy at first, but that dried down to a perfectly blended mix of beeswax, brown leather, and the parchment scent, and a little incense way in the background. It's a bit of a morpher for me--keeps coming back and surprising me. The throw on this is great- it's strong but not overpowering. Definitely has that "dusty" note that I get from a lot of the OLLAs and adore. Makes everything smell aged and refined. This is another lovely addition to my OLLA collection.

    Obatala

I've been wanting to try this for a while and I received a generous wish list frimp from a recent forum buy- yay! This one is interesting in that when I hold my wrists right up to my nose, I can barely catch it except for a warm, muted coconut. However, when I just go about my day--typing, drinking coffee, etc--I am getting almost constant wafts of this lovely clean, creamy, coconut. I love that! I don't know if I would say that throw is strong--I wonder if others around me could smell it the same as I do. It is quite faint at times--but it's so good. Sort of reminds me of summer and tanning lotion, in a good way. It's a clean, fresh scent that makes me smile This might be a big bottle buy.

    Antique Lace

I managed to get my hands on an imp of Antique Lace and did a test w/ the tinest amount since I know how rare it is. It is one of the most lovely things I've ever smelled. It is this perfect vanilla musk that is nice and soft, yet has staying power for hours. I'd be a lucky girl to have a whole bottle of this, but I'll just consider it awesome that I even got to try it this late in the game! UPDATE- I just came across my old review and guess what? I have a whole bottle now. Yay! I let myself indulge with a little Antique Lace once and a while. Every single time I wear it, I get compliments on it. Like, total strangers come up to me asking what I am wearing because they NEED to get some. I love introducing people ot BPAL, but not as fun when the scent they love isn't available. Anywho- just lucky that someone approached me for a swap of this lovely oil <3

    Strawberry Sufganiyot

This is pure strawberry jelly doughnuts coated in sugar, just as I hoped. It's actually WAY better than expected. The throw is great- not too strong, but I'm in a definitely in a happy little cloud of strawberry sweetness. As a note, I usually can't do foodies, but this one works great on me.

    Oisin

Got lucky and acquired a decant and tried it out today. Oisin was unique for me in that it did the opposite of most other scents: Oftentimes I put it on and it is great for the first 1/2 hour or so, then it quickly fades leaving me wishing for more. Oisin went on making me wonder what all the fuss was about. It was so soft and barely there. But, after 30 min to an hour on the skin it really started to bloom. It began as a pale white musk, edging towards powdery for me. But now it is a gorgeous blend of white musk, florals, and something a little sweet. I have bad luck with feminine smells, but this one totally works. Very rich and complex. Every once and I while I think "soap"- but that never lasts too long. I only wish it had some throw--it sits very close to the skin. When I put my wrist to my nose and take a whiff I adore it, but I haven't gotten a single time where it wafted up to me. But, I tend to wear scents just for me anyway, so this is OK. I would love a bottle of this, but I know that's not very likely to happen. I'll just keep the decant and savor it for as long as it lasts, and maybe some day I'll have a stroke of good fortune!

    French Love

I get the dragon's blood in this one, but it's not as strong as in the most of the "Dragon's ______" blends that I have tried. Sometimes dragon's blood is off-putting for me--but not here. French Love smells just like it sounds. It's sweet and romantic- like a young-love summer romance. A bit of candy sweetness, cherries, and a smidge of department store perfume. This was best for me the first couple of hours after it dried down. After that, it started to face quite quickly. Can't say much about the voodoo properties since I'm alone at my work desk, but it's not the typical sexy, romantic scent that usually makes me feel like a vixen. It's nice...not sure how often I would wear it, but I will keep the imp.

    Sleepytime BPAL

Ooh, so many suggestions. I'm going to make a list and keep my eyes open for some of those LEs. I actually got Nocturne as a frimp yesterday, so that's one more to try. Thanks!

    Sleepytime BPAL

I love sleep scents almost as much as my day time picks! I've tried most of the stuff in Somnium--wondering if there are any good sleepy scents from LE's past that anyone knows about.

    Fighter

I adore this scent, but it's not because of the "fighter" aspect of it. (athough I totally get it). When I first smelled this it was just a small whiff from the imp. From opening, a little bit got on my fingers and I could not stop smelling it. It was such a familar smell--it reminded my of something so much and I just couldn't think of what it was. Then it hit me - VACATION! This smells just like walking into the hotel lobby. You get leather furniture, the cleaning product smell from a freshly turned over room, the chlorine from the pool, and, yes, the blood, sweat, and tears of the thousands of guests who come in and out. What's really awesome is that when you smell it you actually feel a coolness that is like walking into your room and feeling the air conditioner blowing on you. Even the ozone smell from the A/C is there. It brings back such pleasant memories from vacations past. Now, I do get how it all relates as a figther, too: leather, blood, sweat, metal--even the cool sensation is like the cold metal blade of the sword. But me, it should just be labeled "vacation." Such an amazing scent.
