Ruined Roses is a permanent favourite. I do wish I'd tried Eve now, I discounted it outright because sandalwood can make me feel really sick, but the other ingredients are perfect. Siiiigh, schoolboy error.

BPAL actually qualifies as essential oils, "perfume" assumes that there's alcohol in the mix. I've had the same problem with the Post Office telling me it's illegal unless it's in its original packaging - which of course BPAL doesn't have.

Inspired by and created for my beloved Tedwin: my eternal, beautiful, wicked Dorian Gray. Refined, elegant, and lovely, with a noble bearing and seemingly gentle air. This blend is an artful deception: a sweet gilded blossom lying over a twisted and corrupted core. A Victorian fougere with three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea. In the imp: sweet tea and rose? Wet: The same, but even sweeter. Dry: Hmm. Sweet lemons and something musky. It was gorgeous wet, but I don't think this is working on me. Gonna keep hold of it and try it in the oil burner instead.

In the imp: Hmm. Hard to describe. Dryish and sweet with a little spice. Wet: Really sweet, smooth patchouli. I don't think I've tried anything with orris in it before but I have a feeling that's what's sweetening things. Dry: Holy woah has this changed. It's very sweet, myrrh is all I can pick out and the rest is difficult to distinguish. I can just pick out the patchouli if I really think about it. Such a surprise, though, very wearable and I can't stop sniffing it.

In the imp: patchouli and earthy moss. Wet: Patchouli, with a soft, creamy edge, which I assume is the mushroom caps because it reminds me of Destroying Angel and Death Cap. Dry: This is almost sugary with fig! Still getting the patchouli and creamy mushroom note but they're not as prominent. I don't know why I haven't tried this one sooner, I love most of the scents with a soil note. Which oddly, I'm not getting much of, but I love it all the same. (I give up trying to format this post)

In the imp: sharp, sour soil note and florals. Wet: Florals Dry: I was going about my day and started getting wafts of white, powdery florals. Ick. I was hoping there weren't any, but they've made themselves known. It's not a bad scent close up on the wrist, it's just beautifully blended flowers and a hint of moss, but the whites are knocking me sick so it'll have to come off

In the imp: sharp patchouli with an aftersmell (is that a thing?) of coconut. Wet: exactly what the description says: patchouli, coconut and benzoin. Dry: I kinda love this. Really harsh patchouli sweetened up by coconut resin.
-
In the imp: Fresh peony and newly cut grass. Wet: Much the same, but the floral side is edging ahead. Dry: This is a really lovely, fresh floral. Not what I like for myself but it'd be nice wafting past on someone else.
-
In the imp: vaguely tangeriney but mostly cedar and vetiver. Wet: Really smoky and slightly citrus. Dry: It's not nasty, but it definitely smells like burning wood and just a jumble of other slightly sweer notes.
-
In the imp: a bright, soft lilac. Wet: Starting to get some of the green tea and lemon, but it's sweet rather than citrus. Dry: Musky lemony floral.
-
In the imp: Soft resin and Lily of the Valley. Wet: Rosy, but not overpoweringly so, the Lily of the Valley is just as prominent. Dry: Rosewater! It's sweet and sort of creamy too.
-
In the imp: Minty and a bit spicy. Wet: Soft and fresh cologne. I think I'm getting some patchouli or vetiver? Dry: This one's strange, not at all what I would have imagined from the description, a lot more feminine too. It actually smells a bit like patchouli and lillies on me.

I want to smell like dirt! Dirt, Earth, Soil recommendations
d0gbones replied to septima_pica's topic in Recommendations
God, I could never choose between Zombi and Deep In Earth. Two of the earliest ones I tried and still two of my favourites. I'd steered myself away from The Grave-Pig for some reason, but comparing it to Death Cap has won me over again. -
In the imp: coconut and earth Wet: very soft, milky coconut and the way soil smells after a light rain. Dry: sort of dusty, spicy coconuts? It's weird and unexpected but I'm OK with it. Can't stop sniffing at my wrist, I love it!
-
In the imp: slightly minty musky caramel Wet: Mostly caramel, but there's an almost fruity floral going on. Dry: hmm. Tobacco and caramel. It's not terrible, but tobacco notes make me nauseous so it's definitely not one I'll be keeping.
-
In the imp: sharp soil note Wet: Rooty earth, like you're digging in the garden and some very light flowers. Dry: dry soil and woody flowers. It's hard to describe, but it's very like the woods at the end of summer.
-
Mine too, not that I've ever had an issue with USPS, but the order tracking works once it's within the UK now which is great.
-
In the imp: soil Wet: damp earth and... flowers? There's something almost fruity about the floral side, but it's very similar to Zombi. Dry: Usually, I hate white florals, but this is really fresh and sweet with no powderiness or sickly and nausea inducing-ness. The dirt note is mostly gone, which is a shame, but I really love this!

SO pleased this came back! Rose and oudh are two of my favourite notes, so I'd been dying to try it. It's definitely heavier on the rose than oudh, which is kinda disappointing, but it's still a gorgeous, deep, velvety rose. It reminds me a ton of the Post's Red Roses And Old Bones atmosphere spray, but without the dusty nose-tickling note.

Starts off as strong lemon verbena, but the jasmine comes out as it warms up. Thankfully, it's never more than a vague hint. The green tea stops it from being citrus fruity overload and as others mentioned, it's very much like Lush Avobath. Totally not my perfume thing, but nice all the same.
-
In the bottle: sweeet sweet benzoin. Wet: Frankincense is coming out along with the the sliiiightest hint of vanilla. Dry: a light, sugary frankincense. I wish it was stronger, but scent wise this is everything I was hoping for. The spiciness from the frankincense is almost cinnamony, but there's not a hint of foodiness from the vanilla - yay! I can barely pick it out at all, it seems to just merge with the benzoi and add sweetness rather than a specific vanilla note.

Where is my order? What is Click N Ship? How long does this take?

That seems odd, I wonder if you should email the Lab? I contacted them earlier and it was sorted out, at lightning speed ☺ -

This may not be the right place to ask, but what does "On Hold" mean as an order status? The payment has gone through and none of the items are out of stock as far as I know. -
Unrestrained revelry, unchained licentiousness! Violet deepened with vetiver. Definitely getting the vetiver in this. I'm not familiar with violet in anything other than Parma Violet form, so I'm not sure how true the floral side of it is, but it's a good balance. Gets less herbal and very smoky the longer it's on. It's pretty masculine, but it could definitely work as unisex too.

In the imp: Sort of alcoholic, slightly piney, I can pick out the vetiver. Wet: Minty? Very sweet pine and maybe basil. Dry: Uh-oh, musk and cloves. Clovey musk. It's not gone off on me like musks usually do, and it smells fine, it's just not a very wearable scent for me.
