Insta-bottle purchase! Lick It is a favorite BPAL blend. My review starts out compromised by chocolate: The uncompromised review starts here: the hair gloss does NOT contain a chocolate note. Once applied, Lick It With Consent HG is a cloud of peppermint candy cane. This is straight up peppermint candy. As in all the Lick It perfume blends I've tried, there is menthol present, so prepare to be refreshed! My scalp was definitely mentholated. There's no musky note, unlike my beloved Lick It Like You Mean It. As with other Lick It perfume blends, the peppermint note doesn't last long on my skin & hair. After 3 hours, I mostly smell sweetness, with the barest hint of mint & vanilla. I need to get a bottle for my son for his birthday before Yules are taken down. He's another Lick It fan.

2024 review of the 2022 release. I bought 2 bottles of TKSnow in 2022, one for me & one for Teadaughter, since we both lurve TKO. I liked it ok, but neither of us were knocked out. We both decided we preferred the original, but the frozen version was okay. I broke out TKSnow for Wear Your Yules 2024!, & it's aged in a really awesome way. The lavender note, which was just okay, is now brighter & a little bit pine-kissed. It reminds me of the way Dorian's Lavender fougere smells in Paper Phoenix, which is one of my all-time fave BPAL blends. Since I've barely used my 2022 bottle, I don't think I'll order the 2024 variant , but I'm glad it's making repeat appearances.

This is really hard for me to review, because it's super complex. The main effect both in the decant & on my skin is the sepia-washed amber resinoid, which is the best BPAL amber ever! Like @doomsday_disco, I'm reminded of honey. It's complex, sweet, woody, & somehow a little bit floral around the edges, like raw honey. I'm loving it, & ordered a bottle. This is in the category of blends I'm mentally calling "Lilith-adjacent."

Now I know that my skin eats up coconut This is gorgeous & floofy in the decant. It's got good longevity in my scent lockets. When applied to my skin it vanishes within an hour. I am full of envy for all who can wear it, but I don't need a bottle.

I got my bottle through a forum purchase. I think it's the 2021 release. There's spice, maybe some coffee? The sandalwood & pumpkin are too quiet to pick out.

A really charming gourmand with low throw. On my skin the lemon note is mild & dry, reminiscent of lemon juice mixed with powdered sugar to form a glaze. The vanilla, olive oil & cake notes are all bound up together in the background. I may need a bottle.

Belated review. Cocoa bean & vanilla dominate, with an amber background + the tiniest hint of oud. I didn't wear it a lot in 2020, because the cocoa bean was indeed gritty. Age has smoothed out the grit & it smells more like a dutched cocoa powder than crushed burnt beans. The vanillas are leaning toward the buttery side, so I guess I have to call it a gourmand blend.

Fruit fruit fruit. The guava is the dominant note while wet, but it simmers down quickly. I don't notice vanilla or cream. Just fruity sweetness. I haven't experienced Dead Leaves, Vanilla Bean, Pink Fig, and Brandied Dates. On my skin, the fig in Just Before Penetration is the same one that's in Fig Vulva. I'm glad I got a decant, but won't need a bottle.

Several Penises is my standout Luper this year. The sandalwood cream & lemon make me happy, instantly. It's got a bit of a classically masc vibe, probably from the tabac. Over time the lemon note fades gracefully, & creamy smooth sandalwood + frankincense are left. I have layered it with Pistachio Ambrosia several times. Fantastic pairing!

Winter Dildo isn't something I'll wear a lot, but it's magnificent. This is the kind of scent that will be hoarded by someone that it's perfect for. I'm struggling to review it properly because it's got so much going on, & it's so far outside what I usually wear. I bought a decant with the idea Winter Dildo would remind me of the classic Zen stories of tea house women dishing out Dharma to travelers along with tea. What I experienced is a lemony, green, complex, magical incense ride. Sweet amber accounts for the sweetness, which is balanced by green tea's bitterness. The green tea & green cardamom pod notes ground the blend. Their green-ness isn't fresh from the garden, but still vigorous & (for lack of better words coming to mind,) thrumming with potential. There's a faint, delicate "chilled" note that I'm pretty sure is related to the well-loved BPAL "snow." I've had bad luck with that note on my skin, but it's very nice in my hair. I don't register smokiness, but I do get an overall incense vibe. Winter Dildo deserves a fanbase. I hope it finds one. Edited to add: Teadaughter, whose favorite BPAL fragrance is Fae Forest atmo spray, has adopted my decant.

Blind bottle Win! Marble Wreath is predominantly a Tea/Vanilla blend on me, & I am smitten . It's reminiscent of 2004: Paper Phoenix, one of my all-time favorite blends. The vanilla & benzoin are smooth, blending beautifully with the tea. The Lapsang Souchong hasn't revealed any smokiness on my skin yet. Maybe that will change with age? There's also a faint green note, which reminds me a little bit of the olive blossom note in Defututa. The "chilled" note in Marble Wreath's vanilla is subtle, more like the slush in Pink Snowballs than the snow in Snow White (which my skin wrecks.) After 2 hours, it's very subtle on my skin. I have to bring my wrist close to my nose to smell it. I'm also wearing it in my scent locket on some felt, which provides more throw & retains the tea note longer.

My experience with Fig Vulva is the "earthy" one. From start to finish, it's mostly twiggy, rooty patchouli (not the armpit kind,) with figgy sweetness, a little sharp guava, bitter almond, & very dry sandalwood. I can't pick out the cream or hay notes. It stays sharp & bright in a locket, but softens to a sweet woody patchouli-fruit on my skin after about 3 hours.

On me, this is lavender, frosted vanilla beans, Wolf's Heart, & the floofy mallow from TKO . My decant is almost gone, so I'm glad I was able to score a bottle through a forum purchase. If you love Wolf's Heart, you may want to grab this before it's gone!

Reviewing it on Teapapa's beard. He applies beard oil lightly to his curly, rambunctious mid-length beard (2-3 inches or so.) Dwarven Lustre is a dapper patchouli charmer. The patch is dry & sweet, wonderfully compatible with the musk and amber. I didn't notice ale. The oudh must be the woodier variety, harmonizing with the patch. I'm a fan!

My wordsmithing is not up to much at the moment, so: if you have a vacancy in your stash that's shaped like a Lilith release, try this. It's Lilith-adjacent. 10 out of 10, need a backup bottle.

Belated review: Magnificent roses with a mellow benzoin base. Blood orange is there at the start, but is only faint after the first hour. Delightful!
-
STRONG toffee in the decant. On my skin, there was a brief light musky vanilla rose scent I quite liked. Then my skin ate it all up. POOF! That rarely happens, but it's always amazing to me when it does. No notes in common with Bon Vivant, my other fastest-disappearing test drive.

[No additional description provided.] Perfect, magnificent, exactly what I was hoping for. I like bay rum with spices on me, but I am totally crazy about it on Teapapa. In the bottle, on me, and on my guy: Spicy bay rum. Excellent balance of bay leaf, light rum, and spices. The rum note is subtler than the initial throw of the rum note in St. Clare, and less sweet than the rum note in Grog. I can't wait for this to go up on the Lab's website, because this is going on my To-Hoard list.

Flawless spiced very very sweet gourmand. Not a lot of pumpkin on me. This is everything I love about Silk Road Resurrected turned into a foodie fragrance. I need a bottle.

Leviticus 27:19
Teamama replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Cursed is Anyone Who Withholds Justice from the Foreigner
Forum purchase. At first, my skin set a new land speed record for gobbling up a blend with Leviticus. I slathered, but barely got an impression. Turns out that I need to double the amount of my usual slather on moisturized skin to get a good wear length. At first, it's faint & dry, almost dusty. Benzoin, a hint of cedar, a memory of agarwood, & an empty coffee cup on the counter that someone spilled a few grains of ground nutmeg in. On dry down, the coffee emerges, mixing with sweet, warm benzoin dust & a hint of spice. I like it. I could easily wear up the full bottle in 2 weeks, lol! I think may try layering this alongside a harmonizing blend, like Beeswax, Cedarwood & Bourbon Vanilla, or Silk Road Resurrected. -
Bottle from a Forum purchase after I used up my original decant. BPAL spikenard is a note that I cannot resist. I love resins, & Tzadikim Nistarim is one of my GC favorites. Matthew 25:34-36 is a quiet blend, with low throw on me. It's labdanum forward on my skin, with a delicate olibanum woven together with the spikenard. The other notes are subtle. Enjoyable. Glad I scored this bottle.

Decant. Ooo! It's lovely in the decant. The peach note is especially delicate & full of juicy peach realness. Alas, everything delicate & subtle in this blend went away when it came in contact with my skin. I knew this was a risk when I ordered a decant, because my skin frequently turns BPAL's subtle fruit blends into "generic fruit candy" in a short period of time. I do better with the dried fruit notes. It's doing well in my locket, so I'll enjoy it that way.

Iced Apple Dumplings Plopped Into A Sweet Potato Pie
Teamama replied to Seajewel's topic in Gifts with Donation or Purchase
I used the last of this imp today, & I sure wish I could buy a bottle. The balance between the cinnamon & apple notes is perfection on my skin. The sweet potato is a mellow base note, & the pastry stayed in the background (yay!) My favorite Black Friday blend.- 17 replies

Café De Olla Fried Ice Cream Jammed Into A Coconut Cream Pie
Teamama replied to Seajewel's topic in Gifts with Donation or Purchase
I got this straight from the Lab, but didn't test it until now. Fried ice cream made me imagine fairground vibes, but this is actually a delicate & subtle gourmand blend. On me, this is a coconut/cinnamon/cream soda combo, with only a breath of coffee & pastry. My skin tends to amp cumin, so I'm happy it isn't showing up for me. An unexpectedly fancy & delicate fragrance- 20 replies

Forum purchase. Thirteen-year-old Slaugh is a morpher on me. Freshly applied, it seems to be a licorice/tea ancestor of Levitating Phallic God, with sassafras + champa doing a credible imitation of licorice. A little later, the tonka slides in & smoothes all the edges off, leaving a subtle, close to the skin blend without a dominant note. Black tea, champa, sassafras & tonka combine into a warm, slightly bittersweet herbal blend. I think this would be gorgeous on Teapapa, although he hasn't been wearing much fragrance this summer.
