Wet: Lavender and...something? Hmm. Smells a bit like chemicals, the way some leather notes do on me (but it doesn't actually smell like leather). I wonder if the "inky musk" has an actual ink component to it? Reading above, I see others have speculated maybe metal, but I don't think that's it. I amp metal to high heaven and can pick it out immediately. This is like....latex? Band-Aids? The lavender note reminds me of the one from TKO, actually, and does not remind me of what I think of as "Lilith's Lavender". This gets softer as it dries, and that weird note blends in and almost disappears. It's getting quite pleasant, actually. Very relaxing. Dry: Soft, faint lavender - very clean and light. I kind of forgot about this for a couple hours, and am just catching the faint final dry down. It's not very long lasting, and it has little throw. There are other lavender scents I like much better, but it is different and interesting. I may give it another test another day.

WARNING! There is cinnamon in the "baked apples" - enough that I had a strong, painful reaction on my skin, which is rare for me. Be cautious! Trying this for the funnel cake! I immediately thought of Midway when I read the notes. Normally I don't go for gourmands anymore, but if there is even a chance it could be like Midway... Wet: Not Midway. There is cinnamon in this apple, and it's stomping alllll over the other notes. I get hints of the apple, but no funnel cake, or strawberry cream. Mostly just cinnamon. It's sweet and pleasant. But I have tons of scents with cinnamon. Was really hoping for funnel cake! Dry: I won't ever know, the red welt this has caused hurts enough that I am washing it off. Strongest skin reaction I have EVER had to a perfume. Ouch.

Going back and looking at my review, Pleasures I was pure chemically smelling leather on me. Totally overwhelming and unpleasant to my nose, from wet to dry. Nobodies starts out that way too, but it quickly dries to a much softer, smoother leather scent that I quite enjoy (and I am really picky about leather) HTH!

Honeysuckle is my new jam, so I had to try this! The other notes could be terrible on me though. Wet: Sooo pretty. I have never smelled a floral that smelled so utterly like "the outdoors" before. This is stunning. It's sweet, and heady, and so realistic that I can almost feel the sun on my face and hear insects. This is late spring/early summer in a bottle. The honey makes it truly special - those who love a "sugared floral" scent HAVE to try this! Those who live Wild Honeysuckle SN also have to try this. Really, just try it. Can't stop huffing! Dry: THIS IS SO PRETTY!! I really was not expecting to adore this so much. Lily often smells like wet cardboard on me, and safe smells like Thanksgiving, but this scent is pure magic. Honeyed Honeysuckle is MAGIC. I told myself no more florals - I lied. I need a bottle of this.

Wet: Pretty much what it says on the tin - beautiful amber swirled with orange blossom. The amber is sweet enough to balance the orange blossom (which turns horribly bitter on my skin most of the time) and I am actually quite enjoying this. It's much richer than your typical floral. I'm digging it. Dry: I don't think there has ever been an orange blossom scent that I enjoyed, but this is quite nice. I still can't imagine wearing it, I have so many other scents that I do love more, but this is really nice. I imagine if you loved orange blossom this would be one of those "omg must have" scents. I am glad I tried it! Proved I can occasionally wear orange blossom and I don't have to avoid it at all costs.

Wet: The rock candy is definitely GRAPE. It's fighting the incense for dominance on my skin. It's a surprisingly rich combination. Grape anything is usually pretty artificial and gross on me, but this smells deep and rich and interesting. I don't really know what cathedral incense smells like. Typically I like incense much more in theory than in actuality. But I can't stop huffing this, it's really interesting. It smells woody and smoky at the same time. Having a hard time describing it. Dry: I am not sure how I feel about this! The rock candy part of it is dominant on me, and super realistic - sticky and sweet. It smells like childhood and fun and sticky faces. The incense just seems to give it a great richness and depth. Super pleasant is the description that keeps coming to mind every time I stuff my nose into the crook of my elbow for a sniff. I am not sure I would wear it as a perfume, but I certainly enjoy the scent of it. I may test it again later, see if even a week or two of aging does anything. I find incense scents better with age. Gosh, I just keep sniffing this, I really do find it compelling...I may need it in my life.

Metal is often a death note for me, but all these other notes are faves, so I am giving it a go! Wet: Wow. I ADORE musk and coconut together, and this doesn't disappoint! The bright tartness of the currant is a really nice counterpoint to the sweet, creamy coconut and fruity red musk. I am not getting the metal note I was dreading (the metal note from Torture Queen and Kataniya smells horrid on me). There is a tiny bit of metal here, but it's the barest hint. The currant and coconut dominate on me. Surprising, I tend to amp red musk, but it's well behaved in this. Dry: This scent is amazing, probably for about an hour or so - it's summery and bright, and I love it. AND THEN the evil metal sneaks up and totally overwhelms the other notes. It's that same metal note that has ruined everything else for me. I guess I should know by now that I cant escape it! Too bad, because I was REALLY loving this.

Wet: The snow note here is a very pine-sol kind of note. Smells like tree. Mixed with eucalyptus which gives a sense of coldness. Neither of those notes blends well with the underlying ice cream, which is sweet and creamy and yummy, way less buttery and rich than the ice cream note in Detestable Putrescence, which was rancid smelling on me. I keep wishing this was more ice cream and less tree/eucalyptus. I wish this was ice cream plus the snow note from Mat Night. This particular combo is not working on me at all. My eyes water when I sniff it. Dry: Sweet pine and eucalyptus. It loses the cold edge. This smells nothing like I imagined. It smells like a forest rather than a snowball, on me, and any hint of ice cream fades really quickly. Not for me!

Wet: Wow, pretty. The jasmine, for once, does not smell like cat pee. The dandelion blends with it beautifully, as does the osmanthus. Pretty!! I can't pick out Dorian or Snake Oil, but this has a familiarity to it that I think comes from the base of those two scents twined together, a combination which I love. This is a sweet floral, while somehow being fresh and green at the same time. I am so surprised at how well I am wearing this jasmine note. It's heady but lovely in this. Dry: I do wish I could pick out the Dorian or Snake Oil more! Maybe with aging? Currently it's a really lovely jasmine scent (never thought I would type those words!!). I am not sure whether I will reach for it much - I am used to thinking I hate jasmine, But I am really glad I tried it, and that my skin chemistry continues to change to allow me to enjoy things I never could before!

This is right out of the mailbox. I should likely let this settle. More than likely I will try it again in a week or so. Wet: Dry dusty patchouli. Hints of something fruity...and oudh (but not the kind that smells like Poo, thank goodness). It's a really dry scent so far, not really my jam. Dry: Wow, I did not have a lot of hope for this one, but this is a scent that really needs to warm on your skin. As it heats up, the plum and musk come out, and with the patchouli it almost has a Shadow In the Elevator vibe - dark, sinister, fruity musky goodness. There are hints of oudh still (which I am really not a fan of) but it's not overpowering. This is kind of sexy! Likely needs another test once it settles. With the oudh it may not be quite for me, but it's really good, much better than the initial sniff led me to believe it could be.

Wet: This is such a perfectly sinister scent, to me. I somehow never reviewed it, but I remember many years ago mixing it with Zombi and burning it with unscented wax in a tart burner for that perfect spooky-get-relaxing atmosphere. It's not really something I want to wear personally, but I adore it. I think it would be amazing on the right guy as well. It certainly has that "bad boy" feel to it. Dry: It really does smell very masculine to me - sexy bad boy! I like having an imp of it around, even if it's not something I will wear. I really enjoy the scent and like just smelling it once in a while.

Continuing on my journey to try every GC at least once! Wet: Lots of lots of really GOOD sweet, sticky, rich, earthy patchouli. On first sniff, this has got to be one of my fave patchouli scents I have ever smelled, right up there with Banshee Beat and Depraved. I struggle with patchouli going dry and dusty on my skin, but this is rich, sweet and sticky. We shall see if it stays that way! Dry: Nope, dry, dusty patchouli. Not as bad as most seem to turn on me, but still not really something I want to wear.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

I think the simple answer is, sadly, no. I don't think there's anything in the world that smells like MB: Underpants. -
Recommendations for a woodsy minty tea factory for a sensitive nose.
LizziesLuck replied to erysette's topic in Recommendations
I will try to keep my recs from the GC - not sure if you're ready to go down the rabbit hole of LE yet? Lol. Dirt: Zombi (wet earth especially), Death Cap, Yorrick and Penny Dreadful, if you can handle a bit of vanilla? Mint: Envy! Mint and herbs, so so good. Also Anesthesia, it's really strong mint with hints of herbal lavender, awesome for bedtime in the hot months! Tea: Famine and Theodosius are my (currently available) faves, but they are "darker" tea scents to me, and both include some fougere-type elements. Embalming Fluid has tea and lemon. Kumiho is white tea and ginger. The Apothecary might be up your alley? Tea leaf with three mosses, green grass, a medley of herbal notes, and a drop of ginger and fig. White Rabbit is also a tea scent. Manhattan is mostly tea and lemon on me. Same with Iulia. Woods: All of these scents smelled like "tree" to me - Danse Macabre, Thanatopsis, Black Forest, The Jersey Devil, Lear, Druid, Ranger Happy Sniffing! -
Wet: WOW. That REALLY smells like brimstone. There's a dusty, mineral, stone quality that is SO realistic! There's sweetness and a smokiness that is NOT vetiver, which I am also really digging. This is such a neat, atmospheric scent. It makes me want to curl up with a good horror movie/novel. Dry: This smells like cool minerals to me - like someone threw a bucket of water on hot Brimstone, sending a cloud of steam and smoke up into the air. SO NEAT. I don't know that I could wear it, but I am sure keeping this imp! It is such a neat scent. Beth is a genius. Everyone should try this, just cuz.

Wet: REALLY intense almond! And all sorts of other good smells that I can't describe. It's immediately a comforting scent. I get a dusty sort of suede, soft and worn. And really warm Tonka and amber. Lovely! Different. Completely unisex, I don't think it leans either way. Dry: My skin totally eats this! It's such a strong scent, but somehow between one minute and the next it disappeared on me! I'm left with just a vague warm, slightly suedey sweetness. A barely there, snuggly skin scent. It's nice but I have to stuff my face right into my elbow to smell it at all, so I am not sure if I would get any wear out of it. Glad to have tried it though!

Wet: ?? - in the bottle I smell the ginger, which is distinctly the Lab's red ginger note. On my skin though, I don't know what I am smelling. It's really weird at first. (Just for the same of interest, I happen to be reviewing the same bottle, I believe, as Teamama above me. I swapped her for this bottle. <3 ) As it settles more on my skin, I start to be able to distinguish notes, and am relieved. It's getting less and less weird each time I sniff. It's mainly balsam of peru on me, with a background of Tonka and red ginger. Sadly I don't get any of the beeswax, which is a fave of mine. It's a mildly sweet scent, very smooth, a little spicy. Interesting! Dry: This dries to a lovely resiny balsam scent. It's warm and comforting. The Tonka and amber provide a lovely sweetness. There's just a hint of spice. Not what I was expecting, but extremely comforting. Not sure if I will reach for it, only time will tell, but really glad I got to try it!

Wet: Soft, clean, pillowy vanilla - reminds me a bit of Stekk - and tart/sweet cherry. YUM. Dry: Very light - my skin really eats this. Sweet, slightly powdery (in a yummy, sugary way) vanilla very light cherry(more of a cherry candy note than a fresh cherry note). I quite like it, but it really reminds me of Alternative Facts, so I shall have to death match I think. Could just be a "my chemistry" thing, but those in love with this scent should at least give Alt. Facts a try!

Distinctly scorched ginger musk. I adore ginger. I adore musk. I had to try this. Wet: Mmm!! This is the ginger note from Vespertilio Proterus that I love sooo much. There's a hint of creaminess, a hint of effervescence. It's quite sweet. I do get a bit of a"scroched" vibe, but it's very pleasant. This is a scent that is simple yet somehow complex. Love it so far. Dry: Not a morpher. I ADORE this ginger note so much!!! It just makes me so happy every time I smell it. Totally a keeper!!

I feel like I sometimes get tunnel vision around certain notes, ignoring the ones that I am not fond of (like cherry blossom) and convincing myself a scent will smell like those other notes in the description, the ones I love. We'll see how that turns out for me... Wet: Allll kinds of cherry blossom. Like, so very much of it. HOWEVER - that being said, it's pretty so far. Light, soft, feminine. A little powdery, but in that "fresh, clean" sort of way that I really like. It's actually kind of beautiful, in a clean, fresh way. I am wondering if it might be a scent I could get away with wearing to work, in small amounts. I am always on the look out for clean scents that are light enough for work. Dry: Soft, light and cleanly floral. Very beautiful and feminine. Little throw on me. This will actually be perfect for work for me, I think. It's different from the other clean scents I have. Gosh it's so pretty! I can't stop sniffing my arm. I have a strong desire to wear it with Kamisuki HG.

Wet: Much lighter than I expected, based on the notes. I do get some honey (not surprising, I amp it) some spice, some musk. It's really interesting - much more of a skin scent than I anticipated. I thought this would punch me in the face. Instead it slaps me playfully. Dry: My skin just eats this right up! I'm left with the vestiges of honey, musk and ginger. A bit smoky, a bit sweet, a bit spicy. Very light. Sexy. But just not enough throw on me. I don't think I would end up wearing it as a result.

Wet: In the bottle this screams LEATHER and I was so worried it would be awful on my skin that I have avoided testing this for a while now. Leather is so iffy on me. On my skin it's nice leather no, not the horrid chemical mess leather can sometimes be. I feel like I'm really getting the rosin as well, it's an interesting scent. There's something spicy about it? almost peppery? I like that. Dry: Musty old home/cottage and leather. Surprisingly pleasant. Not very me though, and I doubt I will ever wear it, so I will likely swap it to someone who will love it better.

Forest & Woods Scents (with and without evergreens)
LizziesLuck replied to omly's topic in Recommendations
I used to hate "tree" scents, or think I hated them, but it turns out I just don't like Pine and other evergreens. I am enjoying more forest-y scents now though, especially on my daily hike. What are everyone's currently available (or somewhat easily attainable LE) favourite non-evergreen tree smells? -

Recommendations For These Very Particular Notes
LizziesLuck replied to le-cynique's topic in Recommendations
Off your list of ones you are looking at already - Sin!! It's gorgeous and only gets better with age. Spice and patchouli heaven!! ETA: Of and maybe add Le Lethe to your list, it's one of my favourite GC tobacco scents. Same with Elegba, but that's more summery to me.
