I collect the Wanderlust scents - this one took quite a while to find! It's an interesting scent - spicy and rich, a bit woody, a bit boozy. But the spices make it smell a bit like a bulk food store on my arm. It's not in any way bad, in fact it's an extremely pleasant scent, it's just not something I would reach for often. Happy to have my little imp of it, luckily do not need to search out more!

Wow, this is lovely. Woody, warm, slightly spicy. A bit smoky, but just sweet enough that I really enjoy it. Beautiful! I wonder how difficult it would be to track down more...the sandalwood in this is one of the best I have ever smelled.

2017 version - Wet: Fig, yuuuum. I adore fig. It's hard to find a good fig scent where it's not overshadowed. This is lovely though, warm, earthy fig, hints of spice and woods. The Myrrh is starting to come out though, uh-oh! I turn things to Myrrh single note sometimes. Dry: The fig remains dominant! That's so exciting! It's really beautiful too, rich and full. The Myrrh is there, but it's not stealing the show. The spices are very faint and mellow, and just add depth. This is truly gorgeous. I think I will age it a bit, just to make sure the Myrrh is going to keep behaving, but it's going on my bottle list for sure!

So, I drink coffee like it's going out of style. Coffee is comfort to me. So I have to try pretty much every coffee scent, and I own quite a few bottles of them, and still want more! Excited to see how this stacks up (I think currently my faves are the Guatemalan Single Note and Morning In New Orleans) Wet: Mmm! Sweet coffee and black musk, what an interesting combo! It's kind of masculine, but still deeply comforting to me. Dry: OK, so nose-to-skin, it wasn't great for a bit - kind of musty/dusty, but the throw from it was amazing, so I went for it and slathered it all over. It's FANTASTIC. So comforting, the mesh of two of my fave comfort scents, coffee and musk. I need a bottle, and I will wear it (likely during cold months) when it's late in the evening and I want a cup of coffee and can't have one because it'll keep me awake. Gorgeous!

Wet: Ugh, super dry, earthy, dirty patch, and astringent herbal lavender. Ick! Hoping this dries better on me, but right now I don't even want to sniff it. Going to let it warm on my arm for a while (quite a while) and hope it's magical when I come back to it. Dry: OK! Gets way less gross once dry. It's quite well blended, hard to pick out individual notes, but I think I am getting mostly the champaca, with hints of honey. It's incensey, for sure. Very smooth. There's something there that smells almost like warn leather...? Anyway, I do like it, but not enough to suffer through the initial blast of sheer ickyness that happens when I first put it on. I'll age it a bit and see what happens.

Wet: Chilly vanilla mint! Immediately I start humming, "don't ya put it in your mouth..." because I have the overwhelming urge to lick my arm. I love this scent, though I have never been entirely sure that I want to smell like mint. I have and love both Envy and Anesthesia, but they are "summer bedtime scents" or sometimes in the case of Envy, a comfort scent, not something really worn as perfume. I am hoping the other notes amp up and the mint wear off a bit to make this into a truly wearable perfume for me. Dry: Well, the mint does fade out, but sadly this turns to roses with some sort of artificial/plastic creamy vanilla going on. It's almost lovely, but there's just that hints of Band-Aid throwing it off. I'll try it again another day, and hope it either needs to settle more, or this was a bad skin day.

Sugar Plum Fairy perfume is the most sentimental scent I have, and would likely be the last one anyone could pry from my cold, dead hands. The scent is lovely, but I would want to have it even if it smelled awful. So I was so stoked when this made it into HG form, now I feel slightly less panicked about the fact that I only have 1 bottle of the perfume. In terms of scent, I actually love this in my hair even more than on my skin. My skin tends to occasionally turn plums to plastic, and on certain days, this perfume has just the faintest hint of plastic on my skin. The HG is GORGEOUS though. The hint of tartness from the apricot balances out the sugary plums, and the musk and florals keep it from being gourmand. It's lovely. and I am so happy to have it. I will wear it two days before Christmas, and in April, and think of my Grandpa. <3

2017 version - quite excited to try this, as all the notes should be total love for me. Wet: Lilac! I wondered what note would come out on top (I had sort of hoped it would be musk) and it's lilac for sure. Gorgeous. Sweet vanilla tea is right there too, and with the musk, it kind of reminds me of a Dorian type blend with the addition of a big dose of lilac. It's lovely! Sugary, musky lilac with a splash of vanilla tea. Quite enthralled by it at the moment, can barely pry my face out of my elbow long enough to type! Dry: So pretty! Vanilla tea, musk and lilac (in that order) is what this dries down to. It's slightly feminine, slightly clean, and entirely pretty. I really like it and will get a bottle.

2017 Version - Wet: Dry, yet still sweet, warm glowing sandalwood. So pretty! There's almost a hint of spice to it as well, and something that smells akin to a really dry tobacco at first, but is actually the patchouli. Unfortunately, the patchouli amps up more and more. It's that really dry, earthy patchouli note that I am not particularly fond of. If I am correct, this scent will eventually fade out to just that note, which will get dryer and dustier until my arm eventually just smells like dirt. Hopefully I am wrong. Dry: Slightly spicy dirt. You know, I would probably love this if it was meant to be a dirt scent. But it's not, I wanted it to be a sandalwood scent, so I am bummed. Not for my skin chem!

Wet: Hmm! Different! Not what I was expecting! There's a dry floral or almost hay-like note in there! It's kind of autumnal. I really dig it. The honey is lovely. I think it's maybe the champaca flower mixed with the papyrus that's giving this cool dried floral vibe. It's so different from anything I have/have smelled. Dry: Wow, leather lovers take note, this dries down to a GORGEOUS honeyed leather scent. Soft, worn leather. Hints of sweetness and incense. Really nice. Completely gender neutral, to me. Not sure if I would wear it enough to get a bottle, but man is it a great scent. I keep catching whiffs and inhaling deeply and smiling. These CD scents, both new and old are KILLING my wallet!

2017 version: Wet: Slightly fruity ozone and incense. I thought I hated ozone (thought it was just another term for aquatic) but I do not hate this at all! Getting hints of anise coming through stronger and stronger. Lots of opium (but not as sharp as it usually is on me), sweet plum and anise. The ozone gives it a neat sort of...almost effervescence? But not quite? It really does smell like an electrically charged storm, and it's such a neat smell. I so did not expect to love this, but I am right now. Dry: Laundry! Lol. Really really good laundry though. I actually still like it an awful lot, and wonder if it might be a new work scent for me. I still get hints of opium and anise - like you washed your clothes after a night of debauchery and didn't quite get all the sin off them

The apple jumps out right away - it's a very green, tart apple. There's a slightly odd dry, dusty quality to it that I can't really place. But when I bring my (wet) hair back to my face for another sniff, that aspect is gone, and the spices and caramel have surfaced, along with just a faint hint of the apple remaining. It's not a strong scent right now, despite the fact that I put double in compared to what I would normally use. Smelling it on my hands, it had that weird dusty scent - almost mildew - like mildewed burlap? Weird. This was one of the CD HG scents I thought I would like most, so I got a 1oz rather than just a 5ml tester, but I think I was wrong. I don't love this. I don't hate it in my hair, but I certainly don't like it on my skin, and I like to be able to use the HG as a body spray/moisturizer. I will test again, but as it is, this may be destined for the swap pile....*sad* ETA: A few hours later now that my hair is totally try, this is actually pretty much as described - caramel apples with some spice. Nice!

I have put off trying this, because I only have a decant, and I knew as soon as I tried it I would need MOAR. I was not wrong... Wet: The amber in this is sweet and feminine and GORGEOUS. There's something almost musky about the scent - like a glowing white or vanilla muskiness. It's sugary and lovely. The leather behaves itself well for me in this. The clay is there, giving this a really neat mix of warm and cool notes. I love it. Dry: I love how sugary this is, that was unexpected and awesome. The amber gives it a perfumey quality, and the leather makes it bad-ass (did you know that? leather makes your bad-ass factor go up by at least 3!). I need more. MOAR.

I have put off trying this, along with several other decants of rares I have been hoarding, because I knew I would likely need more once I tried it. *sigh*. I almost want to hate it... Wet: Much grassier than I expected! And soapy...hmmm. Maybe I'll get my wish and I won't need more! So far this is not good on my skin. Yes, very soapy. Though as it warms, it turns into really pretty soap. Like, the most expensive soap ever, in the nicest hotel you've ever seen. Or maybe in a magic castle! Ya, this is like magic castle soap. Would love to wash my hands with it - don't want to wear it. Dry: Next to nothing, just the scent version of an after-image of expensive, magical, grassy soap. I'm OK with not loving this! So happy I got to try it though! <3 Thank you to the lovely who swapped me for it.

Mmmm! This is lovely. I struggle with wine notes on my skin - they turn to cough syrup often. But this is great in my hair! The currant with he incense and wood somehow gives it the *feel* (not a similar scent, just feel somehow) that it would pair well with Mme. Moriarty (I never know what HG to wear with that perfume!). Or maybe it's just the strong RED association with the scent? Anyway, it's awesome. I tested Behind the Veils today too, and they also have a similar vibe with the wine and spice and resins. I like this way more than expected, it's a rich, vibrant, red kinda scent. Fruity, incensey, and that red sandalwood is TO DIE FOR. Glad I got a full 1oz rather than just a mini squirt. I have more HG than I can ever use, but if I ever used this 1oz up I would get more for sure!

Wet: Blarg! I struggle with wine as a note on my skin, but I love all the other notes in this and hoped it would magically just work...so far I am getting red musk and cough syrup with something really bitter in the background. I almost get some cocoa too, I wonder where that's coming from? This wants to be a dark, rich, mysterious scent - but it's hard to take yourself seriously when you're covered in sticky cough syrup. Dry: OMG. I keep thinking, what smells so amazing?? It's me, people, it's me. This gets SO GOOD. The cough syrup turns to sweet rich wine, which is the base for gorgeous red musk and spice. Nose to skin is lovely, but the throw from this is REALLY something else. I need a bottle of this. It's going to age so well. My hope is that as it does age, the cough syrup stage gets shorter and shorter. CD is killing my wallet....

Hoping for more cotton candy, less dragon's blood! The second I spray it, I think "holy shit that's good!". This is totally one of those "more than the sum of its parts" scents. I smell something rich and resinous, a little spicy, sugared (but in a sort of a caramelized way?) and seriously yummy. There's almost a pastry note to it. YUUUUM! I had to check and make sure I didn't spray the other foodie one instead! I love this. It smells like autumn in the warm-spicy-baked-goods kind of way, and makes me want a cookie something fierce. Not at all what I was expecting. I got a 5ml of every single CD HG, and promised myself I could buy a full bottle once I used up the 5ml (I have never managed to use up a 5ml of HG in my life). Currently I think I will predict that this one goes first! It totally smells like something I can wear to work, and people may suspect someone is eating baked goods and not sharing, but they won't suspect someone is breaking the scent-sensitive policy...

Mmm, this is pretty. Sugared roses is what I get, very similar to Hope, or maybe more like Love due to the creaminess Either way, really pretty. My fave rose HG by a long shot. Very sweet and innocent, which I find amusing, considering the name. Wish I had got at least a 1oz instead of just a 5ml! It's soooo pretty.

You know when you smell something really good and you make that noise? *unnnfffg*. You know what I mean. That happens to me when I smell a really good tobacco scent - and this is one. One of the best tobacco HG I have smelled, hands down. Way more tobacco than Fallen Woman or Hag Grey ever had, for me. This is Black Vanilla Cardamom good kind of territory (they don't smell similar, that's just my point of reference for awesomeness). This is the spicy tobacco of Bulgarian without the super-sweet factor. Imagine a more dry, woody Bulgarian Tobacco, mixed with warm glowing sandalwood. I only got a 5ml of this, and that was a serious oversight that needs to be corrected. LOVE this. *unnffggg*

I`m spraying this on a tissue, instead of my normal `sleeve` testing method, because I need to test a bunch tonight! Hoping it won`t affect the scent.... I was worried this would be the lab`s mental note, which I dislike and amp to high heaven. Instead, I get...kitchen spices? Specifically cumin. Uhhhh....maybe the tissue thing was not a good idea? OK, trying it on my sleeve, I guess I'll just have the change my shirt partway through testing, lol. It's very light, clean, fresh. And I think what I had identified as cumin on the tissue is actually mint! Nope, nevermind, still cumin. WTF? No, it's mint! My nose is so confused. What I can tell you is that it is not the Lab's typical metal note (like in Torture Queen or Kataniya). I don't really get the amber or wood or vanilla. What I get is a light, clean scent, plus something that smells like mint on one sniff and then smells like cumin the next. And lemon!? Is that lemon? IDFK. *gives up*. Smells...good? (Clearly I will need to re-review this once it settles and I actually try it in my hair).

Oh wow, I was not expecting this to be that good! It really reminds me of the patchouli from RR, only with sweet amber instead of vanilla. Lovely! I highly recommend it for anyone looking to fill the RR shaped hole in their life...

Very Frank heavy at first, can't detect any clove (was hoping for the reverse!) The clove does eventually come out, and the Frank recedes into the background, grounding the clove and providing sweetness. The Frank is very woody in this, which I love. I like this way more than I expected, and am glad to have some. I am obsessed with the Posts hair glosses, they are amazing! I have long, super fine hair. I find one spray each morning is perfect (only in the ends) and as long as I don't saturate my hair it doesn't get oily (even after 2-3 days). It makes my hair soft and shiny and controls the frizz and fly-aways. Love it!

I don't have any personal recs, but spreadsheet says: Bess - rosemary, orange flower, grape spirit, five rose variants, lemon peel, and mint and new from CD, Alisz - Spun sugar, frankincense, white rose, mallow root, red currant, and vanilla mint. That`s all in the GC. For LE: The Shadowy and the Sublime - Moroccan amber, wisteria, ambergris accord, white rose, magnolia, white mint, angelica, bergamot, and myrrh. Venusian Phoenix - red rose, benzoin, apple blossom, lemon verbena, red sandalwood, rose mint, sweet cherry, hibiscus, cardamom, tonka, tomato leaf, and vetiver. That`s all I could find, Looks like it`s not a popular combo, sorry!

Wet: OMG this is the scent of a million candles burning and I LOVE IT. It also has a "healthy living" sticker on the back (bought it on the forum sales page) that makes me so happy - the idea of getting to buy BPAL at a store is like a dream for me. I can't describe how neat this scent is, or how accurately it captures the scent of a brightly burning candle. It's so cozy and comforting. It doesn't have the BPAL beeswax note I was expecting, but I'm not mad about it. Now it's growing more nuanced - the leaves are giving off a neat papyrus vibe, and now the whole thing reminds me of reading old books by candle light in my family's old cottage - it's a bit musty in the very best way. LOVE. Dry: Just gorgeous. It goes through a short phase where it smells a bit medicinal, but that passes, and it's back to burning candles with hints of old books. SO GOOD. So glad I randomly snagged it. I will treasure this scent for the way it makes me feel. <3

The Lilith lavender scents are my favourite bedtime scents. I don't know why I thought I didn't need to try this when it came out. Wet: Beautiful! Lavender, and clean rain. This is one of the only "aquatic" scents I have ever smelled that somehow actually smells like water! The lavender is very prominent, and there is a huge "clean" aspect - more like laundry than soap. It's beautiful, totally perfect for slipping between clean sheets and snuggling up. It would make a great rainy day scent too. Dry: This is so lovely. Musk, lavender, hints of rain and asphalt, which is a note I have come to LOVE. It loses the laundry aspect, but still has a clean vibe. I love it, and will thoroughly enjoy wearing it to bed, or when I need comfort.
