Wet: Sweet, rich, smoky-sour vetiver and rich tobacco. I do get a faint briney scent that I could see some likening to olives, but that fades quickly on me. The sweetness and richness of the tobacco in this is killer. Myrrh and labdanum have combines to add to that rich sweetness. This is one of those chewy, sticky scents that I really enjoy. I figured this would be too masculine for me, but it's not at all (and I really prefer feminine scents and rarely wear anything that could be perceived as masculine). Gosh I like this! Way more than I expected! I really only tried it because I loved the name.... Dry: LOVE this. Sweet (but not too sweet), sultry, rich red musk and resins. Elegant, feminine, alluring. I need a bottle.

Prosperous Flowers of the Elegant Twelve Seasons
LizziesLuck replied to hexnut's topic in Lupercalia
Wet: SO MUCH PATCHOULI. Ugh, I am never going to find a perfect patchouli/honey balance like I dream about. My skin just amps patch way too much. That's all I smell here, dirty-sweet patch, but not sweet sticky honey. I don't get any vanilla. No labdanum or saffron. Just patchouli. I can't even smell the leather. SAD. Dry: This gets a bit more rounded and sweet, but is still completely patchouli dominant. The really dry, earthy, woody kind that kind of smells like dirt on me. Not great. The search continues! I will find a honey/patchouli scent that smells as good on my skin as Tricksy does in my hair! -
I don't know what is wrong with me lately. Oudh smells like faeces on me, in almost everything I try it in (except Hidden Purpose Bath Oil, where it is perfection) and yet I blind bottled this? It's like the only words I saw were "black" and "amber" and it just jumped in my cart. Anyway, now that it's here, I am kicking myself and almost don't want to try it! Wet: Wow. Not like poo. That's a good start! It's sweet, earthy, and almost effervescent! Kind of neat, really. Maybe I can do black oudh? There's something spicy about it - almost like cinnamon, but not quite. Not totally sure yet that I LIKE it, but it doesn't smell like diapers and I don't hate it, so we're off to a better start than I expected. Dry: I think I still don't really like oudh much. I like this better than other oudhs I've tried - it's earthy and spicy, and I like that. But there's still something a bit weird about it. I think I am going to try aging it a bit and see what happens.

Wet: Sweet, heady orchid. I agree there are hints of green in this, balancing it out and keeping it from getting screechy and headache inducing. It's very lovely, feminine, elegant, and realistic. I like orchid a lot, and this doesn't disappoint! Smells like summer, or the tropics - warm and steamy. Dry: Pure floral love. Just a beautiful perfect orchid. I can't really tell the difference between different varieties of orchid, so I will take Beth's word that this is a vanilla orchid. It's really pretty, not too sweet, just enough green to ground it. A great spring or summer scent.

Sticky Pillowcase? Or maybe Trick or Treat? The sticky sweet scent of candy corn!

Wet: Wow, this is bad. Smoky sour vetiver and....rotten meat? Super. Thanks, skin. Dry: It sweetens up a lot, the sourness fades, and the smoke become quite pleasant. I quite enjoy it, but I find it rather manly. Not sure I would ever wear it, but it's really different and interesting, and I'm glad I got to try it.

Wet: Very manly. Woody and manly. Not very strong, on me. So far not my thing at all. Sadly, not getting any of the first 5 listed notes, just a bunch of manly wood. Dry: This gets much more floral as it dries, but still smells quite masculine to me. I like it much more than I expected, but I am not sure that it's really "me" or that I would wear it.

A Joyful Scene of Merriment and Pleasure Atmosphere Spray
LizziesLuck replied to Jenjin's topic in Atmosphere
This is all about the wood and patchouli! Smells like the best forest ever. I don't like this type of scent on my skin, but boy do I love it in my house. It smells like outside....but better. Lovely. -
An Exercise for Healthier Living Atmosphere Spray
LizziesLuck replied to Amoraexcena's topic in Atmosphere
This is GORGEOUS. All about the Tonka and vanilla, with hints of ylang ylang. It's just on the edge of gourmand, but the floral keeps it from going there all the way. I should get a full bottle. I was looking for something for spring, and this'll do it! I kind of want my house to smell like this all the time. -
I had been wanting a snow scented gloss this winter, and now I will have it for next winter! This is great. There are a few more piney or minty snow notes that the Lab/Post use that I don't care for, but this isn't either. It's perfect. I find it snow dominant with just a hint of tart red fruit. Lovely!

This is amazing, and I am immediately kicking myself for getting a decant instead of 12 bottles. I was afraid of the bergamot - I ADORE the combo of coconut and citrus, but BPAL citrus doesn't work with my skin chem. Apparently it does in bath oil format. This smells like summer in a bottle - like the beach, hot days, sunshine, and everything that's good in the world. It will go perfectly with my millions of coconut perfumes. I do wish it was stronger and longer lasting, but I adore it anyway, and will buy more so I can slather it all over me.

Wow, this smells almost exactly like the new formulation of Candy Butcher, right down to that faint herbal undertone. Which is exciting for me, as Candy Butcher stopped working with my skin chem this year, but this smells amazing on my skin. Not particularly sweet, but not bitter either, rich dark chocolate and cream, and that ineffable slightly green herbal thing Candy Butcher has too. Awesome.

The labdanum and plum come through strongly, and the chrysanthemum incense. I was hoping for more hay! But this is really different and nice. Not like anything I have. I do get a bit of hay. I like it. It's a keeper.

Dark Chocolate, Golden Amber, Sandalwood, and Nutmeg Hair Gloss
LizziesLuck replied to Numanoid's topic in Hair
Nummy woody chocolate hair gloss! It's weird that the nutmeg smells nutty instead of spicy, to me, but I like it. I find it warm and comforting, like a mug of cocoa. -
Wet: Gorgeous florals (mostly lilac) with a hint of spice. Really pretty! Very fresh and sort of 'zingy'. Dry: I really like this. Mostly lilac, on me, but with a sharp freshness that I enjoy. I do currently have a lot of lilac scents, so I likely don't need another, but it's so pretty!

Wet: The ginger is really strong at first, and I love it! Then the tree creeps in. Ginger trees! With tea. Not my thing so far. Dry: The fir gets a bit lighter, as does the ginger, and something soapy emerges. Sadly this is not for me.
-
Wow, this is rich and sugary. Like toffee. Not really getting the coconut (so sad!) though I can smell it in the bottle. It's nutty, but more than anything reminds me of a butter tart with nuts in it. Rather confusing! But very yummy. I am sad though, I had hoped for woody coconut. I am desperate for a coconut hair gloss that works for me!

Oh this is so good. Honey and tobacco with hints of cardamom and vanilla cream. Somewhere in the same vein as Black Vanilla and Cardamom, but not the same. This is to die for, I can't stop huffing it. This is going to be a favourite of mine for sure.
-
Wet: Of course cypress, the one note I don't like of these, comes out strongest. I smell like a tree. Dry: Cypress fades away, as does most of the scent. It's turned into a fairly non-descript, soft floral. It's pretty and sweet, but it has no throw and not much lasting power, and is not wowing me, so I think I will pass.

Wet: Lemon candy. Huh? I barely get any anise. No clove. No patch. Just sweet lemon. Confused! Dry: Eventually I get some anise, but still mostly lemon. Sad, I really wanted clove and patchouli with a hint of anise!
-
I love the name of this! Wet: Tons of sweet, smooth vetiver. More of the woody variety than the real smoky stuff, but still have some smokiness to it. It's OK, but overpowering the other notes. My skin tends to eat vetiver, so we'll see how it dries I guess. Dry: This turns really sickly on me. Medicinal, harsh, chemical. Not nice at all. It sadly had no chance to rest before I tested it. Not sure if that's the issue or not. But it's not a winner on me today, that's for sure.
-
Wet: Pretty darn lovely. Juicy, realistic fruit (sometimes peach smells fake on me, not here!) and soft gardenia. It's heady without making me want to sneeze. Very well balances. I wouldn't have said this was really my type of scent. It's very classic though, elegant and pretty, and I am digging it. Dry: Just really pretty. It smells like spring in a bottle. I don't wear this type of scent much, but this makes me feel like I SHOULD. I sort of want to get a bottle, even though I have way too many bottles right now...

I have been longing so much for a vanilla hair gloss! (I long for vanilla-all-the-things, really). Oh this is yummy. It reminds me of a less sweet, dry-without-being-powdery marshmallow. With a hint of grass? It smells like Easter! Lol. Really good. This is one of those "I can wear this with almost anything" kind of glosses, like Boo. It's quite light. I really enjoy it, and will use my bottle, but it's not quite the strong creamy vanilla gloss I was hoping for. It'll do for now though.
-
I likely would have tried this based on the name alone, but when I saw ginger blossom, I dared to hope that I might finally get a ginger hair gloss that I like! And in the bottle I do get a lot of ginger, so that's a good start Sprayed on my shirt I get a blast of ginger blossom like in Opuhi, with tea. Yum! Then I get the honey and carnation. It's like Alice and Opuhi had a love child. It's fantastic. Slightly tropical, utterly wearable for spring and summer. I feel like this would be equally suited to a garden or a beach. LOVE IT.

Wet: Grape juice! Really realistic grape juice. With pear? Yes, I really do get pear from this. Interesting. Of course it's had no time to rest, because my Luper decants literally just got here even though I ordered when they went live. And now I have to decide in two days if I need bottles of anything....but I digress. The patchouli is peeking through a tiny bit. But ya, still getting pear! How odd. Dry: Powdery grape candy (like pixie stix) and a hint of dirty patchouli. Not a great combo on me! I should have known anything to do with grape would be utter failure, but I had to try for the blackberry. It's a favourite note of mine, and it doesn't come up a lot. Sadly, I can't even detect it here. I will likely try to give this a second test once it's settled.
