Wet: Initially this is all chocolate cookie (not so much the inside of the Oreo, I get more of the outside) and then I get a blast of....pickle? No, not sour like a pickle, more like straight-up dill. Then the rose starts to amp up. Dry: This is actually really beautiful on me. Rose, hints of cotton candy (but not overpoweringly sweet) and hints of Frankincense. One of the most beautiful rose blends I have tried recently. I think those who love the sugar and rose combo of Hope would enjoy this as well.

This was not among the original decants I just had to have. I considered it briefly and dismissed it for other choices. Kept wishing I had tried it though, so picked it up later. Wet: Grass and wildflowers and mist. Pretty, but the grass is also doing this bitter thing it sometimes does on me. It's so realistic is almost makes me sneeze. Dry: Grass and flowers. Very realistic. The bitterness has faded, and it's quite pretty. I would enjoy it as a room scent. Typically I would prefer a bit more sweetness though, in terms of what I like to wear, but I can absolutely appreciate how beautiful this is.

Wet: That's a lot of red musk. And sandalwood. Where's the vanilla? Not that I'm really complaining. I love me some red musk. But I wanted VANILLA with red musk. Instead, red musk is slapping me repeatedly in the face. Hoping more sweetness comes out as it dries. I love red musk when it's paired with something sweet. Dry: I can catch hints of the vanilla, under the red musk. Tiny glimmers of sandalwood. I am going to try aging this, and hope that it will even out a bit with time. Currently I like it, but don't LOVE it. But it has potential.

The Great London Spaghetti Hunt

Wet: The coffee note is great, but I can already tell the bakery notes in this are going to do that weird stale cereal thing on me. So stale cereal and coffee. Breakfast of champions! Dry: This actually kind of recovers a bit, but it's still a bit off on my skin. Thankfully, I have other coffee blends that I adore, without the bakery note that doesn't agree with my skin chemistry. -
I think I like the concept of this more than I like the actual scent. I find the "beer" note very perfumey and sweet, not at all what I expected. While the cake note is NOT as sweet as I expected, and is more like....biscuit? I don't think I can really pick out the incense note. Overall, it's OK, but not my favourite by a long shot. Glad to have finally gotten to try this "classic" though!

Wet: Mmm. Patchouli (which is beautiful, mellow yet rich, subdued, and sooo smooth) and coffee (which is almost chocolaty!) just enough sweetness from the vanilla, though I can't pick it out individually. To me the spices are translating as something slightly green, and it's really pleasant. This is a subtle patchouli scent, not punch-you-in-the-face-Patch, I think I could easily wear it to work. It's very light. Dry: This is musky, and I don't know why, but I love it. It's a gorgeous skin scent. I like that it's not all that strong, as so many of my perfumes are. This is so much more than the sum of it's parts. Yes. there's patchouli and coffee and vanilla and some herbs/spices. But it's also chocolaty and musky and just...lovely.

Really fruity, mostly plum. Plum isn't always great on my skin, sort of turns to plastic sometimes, and it's trying to do that here. This is overly sweet on me as well. The florals just barely peak through. I needed to get a hold of some of this, because I am collecting the Wanderlust imps, but I don't think I'll reach for it. It's not bad at all (it finally decided not to go to plastic) I just have other fruity florals that are better on me.

I had to rehome my bottle - I remember loving it when I first got it, but sadly over time my skin chemistry changed and I couldn't do orange anymore. It used to smell like orange candy on me with pepper, which was really cool. Years later my skin turned it into orange bathroom cleaner.

I wore Palmyra today, and on a whim combined it with Dragon with a Llama Mohawk HG - resiny, incensey HEAVEN. I loved it.

This is really fresh out of the mail, and I should be letting it settled...BUT I CAN'T. Wet: Mmm. Syrupy tobacco. It's almost musky. Oh wait, cuz there's musk, duh. Gosh that's good. I sooo love tobacco. Hoping the other notes shine through at some point, but if they don't I'm still not mad at it. This is NICE. Mmm, the amber is coming out. Tobacco and amber AND musk, that's like heaven. Hints of sandalwood coming through now...maybe a bit of hay, or I'm imagining it, but either way, I love this. Dry: Hmm, this is different than I anticipated. I like it a lot. Musky-tobacco-amber goodness, just a hint of hay. Can't pick up the sandalwood. I do think I also need to let it settle for a bit to see what it's "really" like. I have found that especially with tobacco scents, a few weeks can make all the difference. I have high hopes for this though.

Wet: Ermagerd this is so pretty! It's beautiful and unique. The florals are almost musky. It's sexier than I expected. Upon reading the notes again, there's musk in it, that explains the muskiness. Wow. Hard to describe! But gorgeous. Dry: This is AMAZING. Musky, unique florals, just the right amount of sweetness....I get what all the fuss is about, and I am so glad I found a bottle! <3

I was convinced this scent would be perfect for me (I adore all the notes) and I was lucky enough to have a friend who let me try some. And it was beautiful, of course. So I had to go on a mad hunt for some. Thought I had found some...turned out I didn't. Then I finally found a whole bottle! Really excited to try it again, I only tested it once, months ago. Wet: Mmm. Even prettier than I remember. On me, I get a crystalline, sugared vanilla. Then I get the same sugar plum note as sugar plum fairy. Very pretty. Soft, sweet, comforting. The rose doesn't take over, which is nice. Nor does the honey. The sugar plum is kind of the star, along with sugary honey/vanilla musk. Dry: Even better. The sugar plum tones down a bit, and the honey comes out a bit more. It's so pretty. I'll really enjoy wearing it this winter, so glad I found a bottle!

Woody and fruity. Smells more like raspberry fruit than leaf? It's rather masculine, to my nose. It almost smells minty? I dunno, this one is weird on me.

CEDAR!!!!! But the nice, warm, glowing kind, not the pencil shaving kind. I don't like it, but I think I know someone who might! The faint green notes from the sage and bay are nice touches.

Wet: This reminds me a lot of Depraved, with grape instead of apricot. And then it reminds me of something I can't place. Hmmm. Not loving it, or hating it. Dry: Very grapey. Grape and I aren't really friends, it just ends up smelling really artificial on me.

I love honey! Not sure why I waited so long to try this! Hmm, this is a really fruity, sort of floral honey. Not as thick or sticky as I had imagined, or hoped for. As it dries, it gets more and more floral. Pink roses? With just a hint of honey? I dunno, this was not what I was expecting. It's ok, but not wowing me.

Wet: WOW, that's a lot of smoky vetiver! Actually has the ash-tray effect for a second, but that passes quickly. Still not caring for it though. Vetiver usually disappears on my skin though, so I am giving it time. Dry: As per usual, the vetiver dies right down, leaving mostly roses with a hint of smokiness. Quite nice, actually. But I do think I have other rose scents I like better, so likely don't need more of this one.

Not expecting to like this, cuz jasmine, but I only have a few left to test in the whole Ars Amatoria section, and I am a nutter and need to test them all. Wet: Yep, jasmine. The rose covers it up a bit, but it's there, doing it's whole feces thing Blah. Dry: I had this jasmine candle when I was in high school, and I really liked it. This smells as close to that as I have sniffed, but there's still that weird poop undertone I can't get past. I know it's just a trick of my senses, but I don't think I'll ever be able to like jasmine.

Wet: Wow, that's pretty. Very light, a skin scent. But so so pretty. The notes are beautiful together, and masterfully blended. This is really romantic and sensual. Aaaaannd it's also kind of turning to soap. No!! Dry: Soft, feminine, pretty floral. It recovered from being soapy. I do wish it was stronger. I like it, but I am not LOVING it, like I thought I would. I think it will need further testing.

Wet: Wow, that orchid note is beautiful! Reminds me of the one in Lamia, which I adore. The sugary vanilla is beautiful with the orchid. This isn't very strong though, and I am having to slather some more on, as it's fading fast. Dry: This is a BEAUTIFUL sweet orchid scent on me. I am loving it. Pretty good throw and lasting power for a floral! I can see getting a ton of wear of this in spring. I really really like it.

Due to my love of Banshee Beat/RR, I had to give this a go too. There's lots of sediment in it, which won't seem to incorporate, but I am hoping I will still be able to smell the cocoa! (OK, so it was refusing to mix at all, so I warmed the bottle in my elbow for a while, and finally stirred it with a clean pipette, but it's still pretty separated.) Wet: Whoa. Yes, that's some dirty patch right there. I don't think the other notes are going to be enough to sweeten it up to the point where I like it. *sigh* Dry: Yep, too much dry, earthy patch for me. I like a sweeter, sexier patch than this. But if you're a true patchouli lover, this one is not to be missed!

This is something that I would have totally passed up, however someone (actually, I think it was the reviewer above! ^ ) thought it smelled similar to The Painted Rose atmosphere spray, which I have fallen in love with. So here I go, hoping for rose and patchouli with some fruitiness! Wet: Mmm. The bay rum is nice on me in this (it isn't always), the patchouli is there (and lovely), it is a bit fruity...where's the rose at? Come on, rose! Dry: Sadface. This is not patchouli and rose and fruit on me. My skin has plucked out the bay rum, woods and musk, making this rather masculine. It's not really my kind of scent, unfortunately. I bet it would smell great on different skin, but it's not sweet enough or feminine enough for me.

Recs for my vacation- what perfume should I bring to Nashville?
LizziesLuck posted a topic in Recommendations
I need help! Lol. Clearly it's a big decision what perfume I should bring to Nashville when I travel there in November. I have no idea what the weather will be like, which is how I would usually decide! (We'll also be stopping in Kentucky, btw) Help a Canadian girl out? Pick my perfume! Feel free to access the link to my collection in my signature and make recs from here, or recommend things I have never tried, and I can try to get my paws on them before we leave (mid November-ish). There's also a link to the notes I like and dislike in my signature. Thanks in advance! EDIT - Would love some Hair Gloss recs too! -

Oh that's exciting and helpful! So fall scents then...hmm, maybe some Dead Leaves? (if mine get here in time!) -
Oooh, good recs! I can't wait to try Mikado Saloon with Lyonesse, I hadn't thought of that!
