I don't know why, but I have been compelled to get this, and finally did. If it smells like beeswax on me, I'm golden, otherwise this could turn out quite badly... Wet: Mmm! Much sweeter than I expected. More like honey than beeswax. Mmm. That's so different. What is that? It's almost citrusy...but not? Tea! I'm smelling tea and honey/beeswax mixed together. with the sugarcane and opoponax. That's what this is on me so far. But it's blended so interestingly that I really struggled to name what I was smelling, despite my familiarity with all these notes. Mmm. This is Evil Tea (like, in a good way) and I like it. Dry: Hmm, the sweetness has really amped, and I am just not sure how I feel about it. I love interesting tea scents, but the tea has now gotten kind of lost, and this is a syrupy honey (I swear it smells like honey and not beeswax!) and opoponax scent. I may need to test again.

Wet: Popcorn (so realistic!), Dragon's Blood, and Clove. Strangely compelling! I don't do that well with Dragon's Blood - I like it in theory, but it always amps way up and gets too heady. I also struggle with buttery notes. Somehow they are both tempering each other though, and this is just....super interesting! A bit sweet, a bit salty, very dark and unusual. Very unique. But would I eve WEAR it? Dry: This has gone from popcorn to more just...corn. Which is actually still quite pleasant. It's so interesting with the DB. I can't imagine ever wearing it, but I am so glad I got to try it! Beth's a genius.

Wet: Mmm, I like that patchouli note! But the sage is throwing me off. This is really gritty scent. Not sure how I feel about it! Dry: Leather, patchouli, and something green - I think the fig leaf rather than the sage, but hard to say. It's interesting, but for sure not me. Glad to have gotten to try it!

Wet: Sweet, dark musk. hints of amber. Iris (which isn't turning horrid yet, yay!). It's much lighter than I expected, given the notes, and I am having to really slather it on for a good test. There's something very familiar about this, but I couldn't tell you what it is. Dry: I have no idea. Pretty familiar with all of those notes, but having a hard time really picking any out! It's not bad or anything, but it's really not wowing me either. Was hoping for more musk.

In my head, I am going to love this, but in reality, that's a whole pile of iffy notes, right there. Fingers crossed anyway! Wet: Blarg! That's bad. It smells like when they put the shellfish and olive sections of the grocery store right beside each other, and you have to walk through the middle. Ick. It's the leather, it's doing this awful chemical thing that registers as very briny to me. Blech. Dry: Not good. Leather...but, like, fish leather. Ick. This would likely be better with aging, and on someone else. Not for me!

Wet: This is really evocative - dark, grimy, gritty, overtop of something clean. Interesting, and so difficult to describe! The geranium is rather sour in this, somehow, and I am not caring for that aspect. Hoping it settles and the musk comes out. As it dries, the throw is a really dark, interesting cologne. I can totally get the porcelain note, which is fascinating. Dry: I LIKE this. It's so not me, and I seriously doubt I would wear it, but boy, do I like it! I would love to smell it on a man. A dark, handsome, mysterious man...this is good stuff. The porcelain note is so pronounced. Beth's a freakin genius. So glad I got to try this! I think I'll age the decant, see what happens. If the musk comes out more, I just might be able to pull off wearing it!

So excited to be trying this thanks to the lovely VetchVesper! ^ Wet: Whoa, clove! Dry, warm, not too sweet. I like it a lot so far, but want more amber and leather to even it out. The clove is gradually dissipating, so I have some hope this may dry down OK. Boy that clove note is good! Dry: Leather! Lately I have been having much better luck with leather - it used to be most leather notes hated me, but this is really nice. Now I am wishing the clove was stronger though! It faded away. Wish there was a bit more amber too. I think what I will do is age this a bit and see what happens. If the spice comes out a bit with age, I may be needing a bottle, because I really do love that leather note.

I didn't think this would be for me (because of the fruit, the other notes sound divine!) so I didn't get a decant, despite being sorely tempted by the ginger blossoms. My lovely Decantress included a tester of this, so I am getting to try it anyway!! <3 Wet: Hmmm, salty! The salt and tobacco are combining to make a scent that smells....almost savory? Not getting the sweet fruit or ginger blossoms at all. It's an odd smell. Very unique. I don't think it necessarily agrees with me. It's getting more beachy though as it dries. Dry: The fruit comes out! And it smells like salty fruit, which surprisingly is kind of pleasant. Like a margarita made with mango instead of lime. Not for me, but glad I got to try it!

Honestly, I have no idea why I needed to try this, I don't love banana and don't find myself reaching much for gourmands anymore, but something about this just called to me and I had to get a decant. Wet: Yep, banana candy. Ick. But from my experience with Sloth, that may burn off. And there is something lovely happening underneath - creamy vanilla goodness, plus....spice cake? Mmm! The throw from this is delightful and actually smells just like a banana split. Nose to skin though, this is turning into a hot mess. The cake is going stale and dusty smelling, the vanilla turning buttery. Blarg Dry: Vague dusty sweetness. Not for me!

Wet: Hazelnuts and woods. A hazelnut tree? Lol. Oh, there's the cocoa. So a Nutella tree. Not the worst thing I've ever smelled! It's really different. And actually, it really doesn't smell like Nutella - there's nowhere near enough sweetness for that. This is a fairly dry scent. I don't usually like pine much, but I am not minding it here. It's not really wowing me though. Dry: Dry, roasted hazelnuts, warm and toasty. A hint of woods, a hint of cocoa. It's nice, but not really for me. I think I would like it better if it was a bit creamy and a bit sweet. But if you're one of those who likes a much drier, less sweet, nutty scent, give this a go! It's really interesting.

Wet: Woods - cedar?? And something really sweet that smells a lot like bubble gum. I think that's from the combination of notes, rather than any actual bubble gum note, as it does not smell like that in the bottle. I think it's skin musk, mixed with amber maybe? And the wood, and then maybe some fruit? Or even a floral like lotus. This is hard to pin down, but it's not what I was expecting, and I don't think it's really working that well on me. Dry: I seriously have no idea what's in this. On me, it has amped that sickly sweet fruity/floral/bubblegum note. There's a hint of dusty woods underneath, and it's a bit musky. That's all I got. It's not good on me. Sad.

Holy sweet sweet cassia, batman! Wet: My nose is not sophisticated to really tell cassia from cinnamon ALL the time, but I do recognize this as the same cassia note in Monster Bait: Underbed. It's delicious with the honey. But I am amping it to high heaven, and I feel it might be a little much to wear. Dry: All cassia, all the time. Very sweet from the honey. Not really sure what I was expecting? It's completely as you would expect it to smell - like honey-sweetened cassia. It's nice, but I think I like other, more complex cassia blends (like Underbed) better.

I totally need a pick-me-up tonight, so I am testing more of my Lilith decants! Wet: Yep, chocolate and smoke! The smoke is a little bit sour on me, currently. It makes the chocolate smell like it's been made with sour milk. Hoping it will settle on my skin. Dry: Well the bonfire note stopped being sour and is lovely now, but now the chocolate has gone off! Ever get one of those cheap chocolate Easter bunnies and it tastes kind of....waxy? That's how this smells. It's unfortunate that my skin did this to it (chocolate is one of those notes that can go either way on me, so I shouldn't be surprised). The woodsmoke note is really something special now that it's not sour. But I can't get passed the weird chocolate. I may have to test once more before giving up completely, and hope it's just a "bad skin day". EDIT: I was having a bad skin day, thank goodness! This is AMAZING. Smoky, almost sexy, dark chocolate. I ended up getting a bottle, and have not regretted it as all, I adore it more each time I wear it. It lasts ALL DAY, and makes me so happy every time I sniff it.

Very clean, sugary sweet floral. I wasn't sure what Asphodel smelled like, but I am finding it really sweet and similar to lotus in that it reminds me a bit of bubble gum too. Not a fan of aquatics, but this one is actually not terrible. The sweetness keeps it from going really soapy on me. It's not really my kind of scent, but there is something beautiful and melancholy about it. If you like aquatic floral combos I would urge you to give this a try. It's sweet and feminine and a touch sad.

I don't know what Sea Breeze smells like....this is nice though. I do agree it's masculine, but I think it would smell good on a guy. I don't find it aquatic. It's a resinous, slightly smoky scent. It does smell a bit "clean" but not in the aquatic sense to me. Not really getting the blue musk. It's interesting, but not for me. -
What a neat scent! It smells like hot rocks! Something about it feels cleansing to me - like a sauna! I do get hints off ash, but that doesn't make the scent feel dirty or gritty at all, like I would usually find. I don't really get any palm that I can pick out. Mostly just hot rocks. How does Beth DO that? As much as I am totally fascinated by this and can't stop huffing my arm, I can't see ever wearing it as a perfume, so I will likely pass it along to let someone else experience Beth's artistry. What an incredibly cool scent.

On me, this is much more lemongrass than lemons! It'd a bit peppery too - maybe some ginger? Not getting any lavender, really. I don't think this particular blend would be relaxing for bedtime for me at all.
-
Very sweet, feminine and pretty. I was expecting to dislike it due to lily, which generally turns to wet cardboard on me, but one of the other notes is tempering it nicely. It's still not really me - not exactly sure why. But I am glad I got to try it.
-
Wet: Lemon candies! Oh, nope, was wrong - bathroom cleaner. verbena and I don`t get on well.... Dry: Still lemon cleaner. I can`t smell any of the other notes, the verbena takes right over.
-
Vetiver. Some type of wood I can't quite identify... not pine or cedar. Might even be sandalwood? Like red sandalwood or something. With vetiver. Anyway, it's smoky and woody, as others have noted. Quite pleasant, really. Reminds me of being at a bon fire in the woods. I think it would smell great on a man.

Wet: Mmm, rich DB (which seems to be of the more floral variety - I know the Lab seems to use several different Dragon's Blood notes). The amber is taking a back seat right now. I do like DB, but I amp it SOOO much, it becomes screeching and I feel too self conscious when I wear it, unless it's combined with the right notes. I don't think this combo is going to be a winner for me, sadly. Dry: It went very green and herbal? And then pretty much disappeared. Weird! Not for me, I guess!
-
Wet: Cherry Sucrettes. Blarg. Cherry is so iffy on me. Only getting hints of the red musk, and no anise...oh, maybe a little if I really huff. Dry: Wow, the anise really amps up! Which I do quite like, but I have other anise blends without the cherry cough drop factor. I can see this being good on someone else's chemistry though!
-
Bleck. I don't know what I am smelling, but it doesn't like me. Sour! Bitter! I don't get any white rose or incense. I don't even get salt. Just a weird sour funkiness. Not for me!
-
Me and aquatics don't get along - but I mean, it's Cthulhu! You gotta try it, right? That's a lot of soap, right there. Nice soap. If I wanted to smell like soap, this would be the way to go, for sure. I was expecting something a lot darker, but could just be my skin chem It turns lots of things to soap.
-
Citrusy and floral, with smoky undertones. Mmm, and some tobacco coming out! I had expected tobacco flower, but this smells more like dried tobacco to me. Nice! That citrus is still throwing me off though. I think if it weren't for that, I would like this a lot, as the tobacco note is sublime. The whiskey doesn't hurt, either....but alas, whatever that citrus is, it's not for me.
